Believe It...Or Else...
Yes gang, time once again for some more of the "weird" that permeates our cities, town and boroughs, so grab that beverage , sit back and let your host, Bobby G. drive for the next few exits, fair enough?
*** First off, the answer to yesterday's WHO SAID THAT? quote WAS General George S. Patton (as quoted in Reader's Digest, April 1955, p 177)
*** The nation's deficit has hit a NEW milestone...a whopping FIFTEEN TRILLION DOLLARS!!!
(that's 15 with 12 zeros after it...looks like this: $15,000,000,000,000)
Now all those zeros ain't worth spit, UNTIL you dump a positive integer in FRONT of them.
Then, all those little buggers ADD THE HELL UP...REAL FAST!
I really have to laugh the way the drive-by-media calls it a MILESTONE.
They SHOULD be calling it a damn MILLSTONE instead.
And it's hanging around the neck of EVERY individual in these United States to the tune of about $130K (and change).
That's what "they" say WE owe...
Sorry, I don't owe ANYONE that kinda scratch...never have...never will.
Neither does the Missus, and I'm willing to bet same goes for the rest of you out there.
It's not "OUR" debt (individually-speaking)...it belongs to the nation, and the government, over bloated as it already is, that has seen fit to spend, spend, and spend some more in our best interest.
How's this working out for THEM anyway?
(short answer: not so well)
Meanwhile, back at the ranch...
*** A would-be sniper was caught yesterday after firing several shots at the WHITE HOUSE.
Here's the link to the story:
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/white-house-shooting-secret-service-arrests-oscar-ortega-hernandez-pennsylvania-article-1.978462
So lemme get this straight...this 21-year old guy is Hispanic, tattooed, has a history of run-ins with police in SEVERAL states, is also known to be a few fries short of a Happy Meal, and yet STILL manages to get an AK-47, move close enough to hit the white house, and he's not been rotting in some jail...WHY?
Was the rifle part of this FAST & FURIOUS operation?
Did he purchase the rifle in MEXICO?
How do all these NON COMPOS MENTIS creeps get weapons in the first place?
This is the kind of loophole that leads to problems...and needs to be CLOSED.
Inquiring minds want to know...we want ANSWERS.
*** Two people shot and in serious condition in Fort Wayne
Here's the story as presented:

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) - Fort Wayne police are searching for a suspect in an early morning shooting northwest of downtown.
Shortly before 4 a.m., police responded to the 1400 block of Third Street to find two people shot. Police believe some type of altercation occurred behind a house and that's when two people were shot.
The two individuals were transported to a hospital in serious condition.
A police K-9 unit was brought on scene and police were searching the area between Third and Sinclair Streets.
One FWPD officer located a bullet on a sidewalk near a truck that a witness said one victim was shot near.
Police are still at the scene investigating.
))
Hey, at least it didn't occur on the (...all together, gang...) SOUTHEAST SIDE of town.
*** Another update to a recent homicide in Fort Wayne.
Here's the link to this story:

Finally caught Theopulus Gordon, 36 , of the 100 block of Blue Cliff Place, Fort Wayne, who was arrested under sealed warrant in connection with the murder of Eric Robinson.
Melvin Sanders was caught earlier this week in Indianapolis.
Gordon was apparently too stupid (or probably LAZY) to even LEAVE the damn city.
No one ever said criminals were necessarily smart, right?
*** There''s gold in them thar cars...
Well, maybe not GOLD (per se), but obviously some precious metals, and these two felonious morons found out they can't be taking things that don't BELONG to them. Here's the story link:
http://www.indianasnewscenter.com/news/local/Two-Arrested-For-Catalytic-Conveter-Thefts-133932643.html
Catalytic converters...proof positive that technology COMES WITH A PRICE (for the local metal recyclers or chop-shop).
Be easier to snatch the WHOLE damn vehicle, than crawl under them to remove JUST the converter...dumbasses!
The two perps attempted to flee by car (from the church parking lot where they were initially spotted on Crescent Avenue), but crashed into the sewage treatment plant gate (should have drove INTO the sewage).
One was tased, and the other was found in a nearby ditch, soaking wet, trying to hide.
Travis E. Smith, 26 and James I. Allen, 34, both of Fort Wayne are now "guests" of the Allen County lockup.
Enjoy the bologna sandwiches, boys...AND those free ORANGE jumpsuits and flip-flops.
You EARNED 'em!
*** Allen County Sheriff's Department reopens range.
Here's the skinny on this:
http://www.wane.com/dpp/news/firing-range-reopens-with-added-safety-keep-in-stray-bullets
This looks like a really good solution to the problem that was brought to the department's attention, but some still see this as a hazard.
The link has a video that is worth watching.
I still don't believe the bullets that hit the mobile home area came FROM the range...that's a serious breach of protocol, and can get someone suspended, if not dismissed outright. Forensics was inconclusive regarding the rounds found as well.
Thing is, if they held a "grand" reopening, why wasn't I there to get in some trigger-time?
I'm NOT getting all my memos...it's that simple....LOL
***
Just when you think it's safe to live in a neighborhood...
A decomp male body was found in the 2600 block of Hobson Rd.
Police don't believe it was foul play, but that's determinate upon the coroner's findings.
I'm surprised the SMELL didn't tip people off sooner.
Here's the link to the story (with video):
http://www.wane.com/dpp/news/fort-wayne-police-at-the-scene-of-a-death-investigation
One resident (Willie Woods) was concerned about the safety of the area.
I can't say I blame him...I "live the adventure" daily in our part of the ghettohood.
You can never tell WHEN something will erupt...it's like sitting on a powder keg, watching everyone pass by with lit matches.
And that seems to be part of this whole desensitization of America...for the sake of "tolerance"...or even "diversity".
Many people aren't all that "put off" when something like a shooting occurs, or even when a D/B is found where their kids might like to play.
And that's pretty damn sad.
We have become so entrenched in being entertained, that we've forgotten to BE INFORMED as well.
An informed public is a STRONG public...at least that USED to be the case.
Information, or KNOWLEDGE is STILL POWER, yet many of us would rather sacrifice that in order to feed the pleasure centers of our brain.
We become impulsive in out quest to feed that part of us that derives satisfaction...at most any cost, too.
Look at all the fights that "break out" on buses, subways, fast-food restaurants, or even on city streets.
This "impromptu" venue, fueled by YouTube postings and the viral video revolution are demeaning to our society, and serve no real purpose, other than to feed some perverse need to entertain.
Which begs the question: What ever happened to enlightenment?
When did many of us cease the want to become better than we were yesterday?
I for one, do not subscribe to such tripe.
And I believe you feel much the same way.
Life is way too important AND too brief to no longer desire to know more, to be more, or even to teach others similar things.
Sure, we live in an age of smart phones, and even smarter computers, but what about the SMART PEOPLE?
Don't we really need to promote THAT, instead of the technologies?
I think we SHOULD...and we MUST, lest we all become lulled into false senses of security.
The future waits for no one, and to settle on who you are (now), without the challenge of betterment urging you to higher goals and loftier achievements, benefits no one at all. It hinders rather than helps.
The people of this nation need to remember who we WERE, in order to become who we SHOULD be...it's that simple.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Humpday Happenings...
I hear we're going to be in for a change in the weather in these parts...gonna start feeling a bit more "seasonal"...well, that will certainly go with all the CHRISTMAS stuff I'm seeing all over.
Now, hold that thouight, becasue I almost forgot to place this week's WHO SAID THAT in here.
The quote is:
"Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom".
So..WHO SAID THAT?
(answer tomorrow)
Now, about this Christmas thing...and my pet peeve.
Cripes, can we push this holiday season any EARLIER?
Geez...used to be the day AFTER THANKSGIVING...you know, when Santa rode in on the Macy's Day Parade float (It was the Gimbels Parade in Philly - used a ladder truck to get him to HIS area inside the store...those were some cool days to be a kid), and THEN, it was officially the Christmas season.
Not anymore...
We're moving Black Friday to THURSDAYS now...and opening EARLIER with some stores wanting to be OPEN ON THANKSGIVING...
WTF is with that?
Employees are raising a fuss over that, and good for them, I say.
I've worked holiday seasons, and we NEVER had to jump through such hoops for the "sake of the consumers".
Then again, we USED to be able to WAIT for the damn holidays to get here.
Again, the attention span of America is such that we "need" the diversion (the shopping season) to get us away from all the other crap that's floating past us these days. right?
We all need to back up...take a deep breath, and RELAX.
Christmas will be here before we know it, that much IS certain.
And for those people who ALREADY have their damn CHRISTMAS LIGHTS the hell up...GET A DAMN LIFE.
Cripes, you people are as bad as those that LEAVE the lights UP UNTIL AFTER ST. PATTY'S DAY...!
If you need to shop...get a damn CALENDAR and be sure the CHECK THE DATES, because you're too far "ahead of schedule".
Now, with that little rant out of the way...lets see what else is shaking this morning...
*** Finally, the OWSers are no longer in Zucotti Park (NYC) or at the areas in Oakland or Portland, Oregon.
Police came to Zucotti after midnight Monday and ROUSTED their filthy asses the hell OUTTA THERE.
My question is: WHAT TOOK YOU PEOPLE SIX WEEKS TO DO THIS?
This SHOULD have been addressed AS SOON AS the permit to be at the park expired (if they even had one), or when the sun went down.
That's the way the law works.
You want to "rent" a park for a specific venue, then pay to secure the proper permits to do so, otherwise you have NO reason to be setting up a "homestead" there...
These parks are for EVERYONE (to enjoy), and you're treading on THEIR right to "pursue happiness" by creating a damn "Hooverville".
And for all those 1st Amendment junkies that cry "free speech" and "right to assemble", lemme straighten your "tie" on this once and for all.
You DO have the RIGHT to assemble...but you DON'T have the "right" to OCCUPY.
Occupation implies more than just an "assembly" of people...as the Nazis demonstrated when they OCCUPIED FRANCE, or the Iraqis when they OCCUPIED KUWAIT...it's a whole different ballgame, people.
In Fort Wayne, it is becoming a bit of an eyesore in Freimann Square, and if I were to be a participant in such a "protest", I'd just show up in the morning, and leave when the sun goes down. THAT would be well within your rights to do so, and no one could bug you.
And I would behave in a manner that would NOT bring shame upon what I was there to protest for...that's common sense.
Then again, I wouldn't be trying to collapse the "system" as many of these people would like to see happen.
If I were to protest anything, it would be the overblown government that wastes OUR money daily to the tune of a $14 TRILLION DOLLAR DEFICIT.
I would protest against people that don't "feel" like working, but would rather suckle on the government's teat.
I would protest special interests that deprive Americans of the ability to open small businesses, and subsidies that allow tax loopholes large enough to fly a Boeing 767 through for millionaires like Jon Bon Jovi that only paid $100 taxes for his palatial estate ONLY BECAUSE he has a frigging BEE FARM, and receives money for that.
We're not all wealthy enough to raise bees, are we?
I think everyone has to pull their OWN weight in such matters...pay their FAIR share, and that being rich enough to have a regimental size lawyer pool should not be the basis for skirting any tax laws.
I saw this first-hand in the Treasury Department...fair is never always fair for all. But that's NOT saying that it can NEVER be that way...
*** A couple weird-ass things yesterday that made me go "hmm..."
1) I was monitoring the police radio, and I heard a hostage situation going down with shots fired (in some apartment complex).
So, I checked all over the news media sources in town to figure out what was happening...nothing.

Nada...zilch...zip...zero.
Not a peep anywhere.

So, since I didn't hear anything from anybody, I can only conclude that it WAS a training scenario...pretty damn realistic, if you ask me.
Odd thing, I didn't know they broadcast those kind of (simulated) OPS on the REGULAR frequencies...I'm just sayin'.
(could be confusing to some should they hear it)
And, if it WAS a REAL OP, it was sure kept UNDER WRAPS really well.
2) You never know what you're going to see in my part of the ghettohood...it's that "diverse", and not in the way one intends to use that word.
Yesterday I see this car hauler park on our street (?)...with MICHIGAN TAGS (??), and some HIGH-PRICED vehicles on it (???).
Now, to me, THAT seems suspicious. I mean there was a red Porsche, a brown Mercedes, and a white Lexus (all high-end), and even down here, you don't see cars like THOSE. The aborigines & Ecuadorian illegals prefer Escalades, Caddies, Lincolns, and ex-police cruisers for the most part, along with the ghettotypical P.O.S.-mobiles in gag-a-maggot hues.
And then I see the white driver of the hauler roll a (vintage) 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme "442" on the ass-end of the trailer. Took it from a house near the other end of the street (to be honest, that car in the shape it appeared to be is worth MORE than most of the houses around here, and could command a fair price at an auction). There was NO tag on the Olds.
Again, this is way too odd for this area...perhaps a REPO? (all the way from Michigan???)
I dunno, but there is an abundance of OTHER-STATE-PLATED vehicles in this area, mostly from ILLINOIS, OHIO (our closest neighbor), and MICHIGAN to make me wonder WHY they choose THIS area to "hang out".
With the regular transport of contraband substances (that would be illegal DRUGS), it's little wonder that you COULD in fact,.find a "haven" of sorts down here and for several reasons:
1) Lots of transiency to go around...rent by the month in many cases.
2) Easy to establish a drop house or a stash house in a "blighted" area (like ours has become)
3) Enough vacant houses to use for stash or cash drops
4) Little if any citizen intervention to muck up the drug "transactions"
That's not the kind of combination that I think of whenever the mayor speaks to that "Quality-of life" issue we're SUPPOSED to be enjoying.
Thing is, the CITY created the environment for such things to occur...they have allowed it to flourish.
Just recently a MAJOR pot bust occurred in a house along the 6000 block of Fairfield (about a 1/2 mile from our "Fortress") that netted over several HUNDRED plants on a "live-grow" scenario. Two white (trash) guys were busted and face FEDERAL (distribution) charges.
Here's the source article link:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20111111/LOCAL03/311119970
So, you can see that this part of town is "ripe for the picking" as the farmers say.
Yes friends...rarely a DULL moment down here, and I could use a bit of dull these days, to break the monotony of all this other activity.
But I'm STILL not going to put up the Christmas tree or hang lights...NOT for a couple MORE weeks...so THERE...LOL!
In the meanwhile...
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Follow The Money...
I know I'm "appropriating" the name of a FOX BUSINESS CHANNEL show, and although today's post doesn't tie "directly" into the show, the premise of the whole MONEY gig will become self-evident.
I like money...there I said it, okay?
I'm sure YOU do as well.
We kinda NEED it to some degree, lest we wind up living under some overpass along some highway.
And the more we have, the easier it becomes to pay thing off...things we NEED like food, clothing, utilities, vehicles, home repairs, child-rearing, and so on. The list never seems to get smaller, does it?
(in my case this includes ammo budgets and potential weapon purchases...lol)
So we can easily see that some form of currency is always desired, if we are to continue.
Many of us run our households much like a business would...a SUCCESSFUL business, that is.
Only a fool CHOOSES to operate ever farther IN THE RED on a consistent basis. But, we all have those times when we wind up with more WEEK at the end of our money...sh*t DOES happen, friends.
And sometimes, we feel stretched SO thin, we'll rip at the seams...but we hang in there, make the necessary adjustments to our lives, and soldier on.
But what about CITIES?
Or the FEDS?
On what criteria do THEY base THEIR "income"?
And why do THEY never seem to get enough money these days?
Well, the national and even state issues are best left to financial and economic "experts" with a lot more letters AFTER their names than I have, so let's get down to some specifics in smaller cities and local governments.
*** In Fort Wayne, we're now hearing that ANOTHER (additional ) $80K will be "needed" for this "Costaplenty Square" (Harrison Square) deal downtown...on top of all the money that's ALREADY been sunk into this white elephant.
Sure, we have a new stadium (we really didn't need), and promises for high-price condos (we also didn't need), so why isn't the DEVELOPER fronting the money THEY promised?
Here's the link to the article:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20111115/LOCAL/311159966
Personally, I was AGAINST this from the jump, because I saw similar things happen in Philly, with predictable results.
Look at how DEEP Philly is in hock these days...it will boggle your mind...our own Cradle of Liberty..broke!
The city of Fort Wayne will blow ANOTHER $80,000 bucks to "prep" the land with NO guarantee of construction BY the developer...
Now, if THIS isn't a "WTF"? moment, I don't know what is.
It's like the saying: "In for a penny, in for a pound"...and Fort Wayne is stuck (right now) with a beautiful EYESORE, which, could become a great soccer field for an impromptu game, should the need ever arise when the bars close...lol.
Is ANY media source doing ANY investigative work regarding the misuse of city funds and the LACK of developer motivation?
Apparently, NOT.
I would behoove a developer to get the damn job DONE, so they can get paid, right?
There is a LOT more here than meets the eye, and a good bloodhound in our media could wind up with one helluva story.
But wait...we're far from done yet.
*** I really like airports...actually, I love airplanes (thanks to my late Father)...always have...always will.
And I spent my share of time at different airports over the decades, coming and going from damn near too many places for not enough reasons, so I have an affinity for such venues. I've been the HUGE airports as well as small private airstrips...and lots in-between.
And I was always aware of one thing...airports are self-sustaining.
They are their OWN private "entity", much like a "city-within-a-city".
Hell, some airports are so damn big, they should have their OWN zip code...lol!
Basically, these airports are designed not only to move people efficiently, and in greater numbers, but to ADD to the city's coffers.
They exist to MAKE MONEY...first for THEMSELVES, and then for the CITY in which they reside...simple stuff, right?
Airports that do not make money, close...period.
These days, in the land of government grants, we find airports receiving money from numerous sources, not the least of which is the good old common, run-of-the-mill TAXPAYER.
(yep, get ready for ANOTHER "WTF?" moment, 'cause it's coming)
I know I just said these facilities were SELF-sustaining, so why bust on the taxpayers of this nation?
(short answer - because they CAN)
Whenever any airport CANNOT readily sustain ITSELF by marketing, promotion, cargo, and passenger services, they turn to YOU...and ME...and everyone else that pays their share of taxes (locally, mind you).
Fortunately in Indiana, they CAP the property tax at 3% (yearly), which is where airports USUALLY acquire their (read our) money.
Case in point, this article from today's paper:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20111115/LOCAL/311159932/1002/LOCAL
Here, we see the FWIA "board" (we have too many of these numbnuts) being asked by the airport directors to APPROPRIATE $3.4 MILLION dollars to cover a "shortfall"...
(( *rolls eyes* ))
I thought airports were SELF-SUSTAINING????
Like in THIS report from the FAA:
http://www.faa.gov/airports/resources/publications/orders/compliance_5190_6/
It's rather lengthy, but it maintains that airports should be self-sufficient and self-sustaining.
Then, there's this:
http://www.aopa.org/whatsnew/region/revenue.html
They are supposed to receives subsidies from their OWNERS, but if the CITY "owns" them, how can they truly become SELF-sufficient?
See the catch-22 here?
At least the PHILLY AIRPORT is doing better than the CITY ITSELF, according to THIS:
http://www.phl.org/about.html
Airports are supposed to be a lot more PRIVATELY-OWNED...at least they all used to be.
Many cities are wanting to privatize them. Isn't that like going back to square-one (when they USED to be privately-owned)?
And who told cities it was OK to "buy" an airport anyway?
This isn't a game of monopoly, people...it's REALITY-101.
Cities have plenty to fret about with their OWN infrastructure, public safety, public health, waste management, and so on...
And yet, the FWIA wishes to appropriate millions of dollars...of OUR money.
I'm sorry, but if I wanted my tax money to go somewhere, it would be for public safety, 'cause we ain't got enough to cover the bases in my part of the ghettohood (thanks to housing authorities that ALSO appropriate OUR money for the human vermin they place all around us).
If all this clusterf$ck results in a property tax INCREASE, I could get on board with that in a heartbeat, thanks to the devaluing of our property (at the hands of this same city). we pay LESS than $100 a YEAR in property taxes, so yeah, go ahead and raise them...in fact you can DOUBLE the amount, and we're still good with that down here. Paying $200 a year in property taxes works for US.
But wait, it won't work well for all those people living in NICE neighborhoods with houses costing OVER $100,000 bucks...will it?
Oh well, some sh*t's gotta some the fan somewhere, right?
Now we've gone from a catch-22 to a vicious circle...
I said a LONG time ago (here) that property taxes were garnered from OVER THIRTY ENTITIES throughout Ft. Wayne, and one of them WAS the Fort Wayne International Airport (it's actually not an "international" airport like Philly is...they just like the title here...lol). It's really a regional airport that FEEDS to an airports that DOES have international flights...just so we're clear on that account.
I find it arrogant on behalf of the FWIA board to "appropriate" ANY money from "us", because the word appropriate sounds like something a gangster would do back in the heyday, when they ran slipshod over everyone to achieve their ends.
It sounds like a "legal" form of theft (to me).
And I suppose it could really be that, if someone would figure out WHY the money was needed and what purpose it serves to all those that DO NOT USE the airport on any given year.
Would our money better be utilized on something that benefits a greater number of citizens?
I'm sure it would.
But, in the meantime, it'll be more "business -as-usual" in Fort Wayne.
Some "entity" wants money, and the city craps more out for them.
(To be more specific, the city will be reaching further into YOUR pockets, copping a "financial-feel" in the process.)
All the while, the taxpaying public is left with the bill when the fellow "diners" scurry out the backdoor.
Helluva way to make friends and influence people, isn't it?
And to think this trickles UP to state and federal levels.
It's small wonder we find such problems in government today...on very level.
We have a voice...we just need to exercise it on a more regular basis..that way we can "keep in shape".
(and keep the politcos on THEIR toes...NOT ours)
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay safe out there, America.

14 November 2011

Monday Musings...
Here we are again...beginning of another week of playing "Let's see how much more screwed up this world can get and how the hell are we going to cope with it?", which seems to be the growing trend these days...doesn't it?
The trouble is...WHERE to begin?
*** The leaf pickup went well down here (they're back up NORTH this week) on the (...all together, gang...) SOUTH EAST SIDE of Ft. Wayne, and those nasty high winds we had over the weekend only served to turn OUR lawn into one of those marvelous "self-cleaning" types...much to MY pleasure.
Any leaves that had fallen AFTER the pickup were expediently carried away to OTHER lawns in the area, which goes to show that IF you have to own a CORNER PROPERTY...make SURE it's the one on the SW corner, considering the regularity of the prevailing winds in this city.
Naturally, there is a down side...that being, IF the winds come out of the NE (off the great lakes) then when it snows, YOU catch the drifting, but that's manageable and a lot less "messy" than blowing leaves all over.
With that behind us, let's see what ELSE has been happening.
*** A 15-year old was struck an killed this weekend just north of downtown around 1830 hrs on Saturday, when he "tried" to cross a busy street on a bicycle. His two friends got across with no incident.
Here's the link to the story:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20111113/LOCAL07/111119773/1002/LOCAL
Actually, I wouldn't call a FIFTEEN-YEAR OLD A "child" as another news source did, but I suppose SOMEONE has to take "dramatic license".
(that's WAY past the "age of accountability" in MY book)
The J-G got it right.
But you DO have to understand a few things about this death.
1) The bicycle did NOT have any reflectors on it
2) The boy was wearing DARK clothing
3) The boy was NOT wearing any type of head protection.
Those THREE things are a recipe for disaster, as we've seen here.
Now, if you think THAT was bad...here's something more on the WEIRD side.
*** We apparently have a NINJA in our midst...can a WARLORD be far behind (sitting at City Hall)?
Here's the story as presented in the paper:
(( Last updated: November 13, 2011 8:39 p.m.
Thief uses sword to rob gas station - Jeff Wiehe The Journal Gazette
A man wearing a "ninja mask" while brandishing a 3- to 4-foot-long sword robbed a gas station on the city’s north side Sunday.
The man entered the Speedway gas station at 2702 E. Dupont Road about 4 a.m. and confronted the female store clerk, who was working alone, according to Fort Wayne police. The thief left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
An Allen County Sheriff’s canine searched the area, but police did not find the thief.
The thief is described as between the ages of 18 and 24, white, 5 feet 10 inches tall to 6 feet 1 inch tall. He wore black shirt and pants, a black stocking cap with a "ninja-type" mask covering the bottom half of his face.
Police and the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office continue to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call Fort Wayne police at 472-1222 or Crime Stoppers at 436-7867.
))
A few notes on this...
--First, was it a "ninja" mask, or just a balaclava...there IS a difference.
--Next, did the person speak ANY Japanese?
(Ninjas have a habit of NOT SAYING A WORD...it's the whole "stealth" thing)
--Furthermore, ninjas do NOT wear stocking caps.
And I also wonder WHY the clerk was not behind some sort of 1/2 inch-thick protective plexiglass, or something similar - they must be a lot more "trusting" people up north, where the level of "diversity" is LESS.
Geezus...what's next?
Sith-Squirrels?
Now THAT is scary, especially if they get into a cup of COFFEE first...I'm just sayin'.
Hey, at LEAST the perp can't be charged with carrying a CONCEALED weapon...
*** Next up, we have an update from a previous story:
You remember Melvin Sanders, right? Check my archives for the posts from 9 September and 20 September (this year) for how this person WAS initially charged in the stabbing death back then. Then, see how those charges were allowed to EXPIRE.
Now, see how this felon was FINALLY caught...AGAIN...this time down in INDIANAPOLIS.
(guess he didn't want to "stick around" for some odd reason)
Here's the link to the *4-1-1*:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20111113/LOCAL07/311139932/1002/LOCAL
They're not sure WHEN he'll be returned to Allen county...(why?)
Nice to know Sanders had TWO addresses in Indy...but that didn't stop the Marion County sheriff's department from FINDING HIM and locking his sorry ass the hell up (this time, without bail).
Bet THESE charges won't just "expire" THIS time around...justice...served hot & fresh (for a change)!
*** Bet 'ya didn't know that South Korea is working to "improve" your television viewing experience...
Yep, LG electronics is climbing into the sack with GOOGLE and making it possible for the next gen of TV sets to be Internet capable, straight out of the box. What did I tell you about "those in power" wanting us all to depend SOLELY on the Internet, and how that Internet can be "switched off" or otherwise controlled by those same people?
It's not some conspiracy theory...it's FACT.
Add to this the fact that Comcast has lost over 443,000 subscribers of late, and it all begins to add the hell up, doesn't it?
Here's the story of Comcast:
http://news.yahoo.com/comcast-continues-losing-cable-subscribers-cord-cutting-044201221.html
The story tells about the loss of 165,000 customers, and a NYT article a month prior cites another 275,000 customers, so do the math - comes to around 440,000, right?
It's all "part of the game", friends...make no mistake.
The number of high-speed Internet subscribers has RISEN...what's that tell 'ya?
Won't be long before both CABLE and SATELLITE TV are as obsolete as the cathode-ray television set (which is actually MORE cost-effective than most ALL the newer flat-screen ones save LED sets), but I never said that (and was never here...lol).
*** Oh and the Indianapolis Colts have reached DOUBLE DIGITS...in the LOSS column...
They are now officially 0-10...!
Gee, at THIS rate, they could wind up with a "perfect" season...perfectly BAD, that is.
Goes to show what a brand new multi-million dollar stadium that didn't NEED to be built will do to inspire a team, right?
Not to mention banking the farm on ONE player, that, if injured, causes the team to come undone like a cheap sweater.
(much the same can be said for the Philadelphia Eagles and their new stadium, poor purchasing of free-agents, and suck-ass year)
I'd also toss in the lack of certain coaching aspects for the Colts...just to spread the blame around a bit more evenly.
Sure glad Johnny Unitas isn't around to see THIS debacle.
*** Lastly today, the OWS "movement" continues...with more violence in Oregon.
And I have to keep asking: Is THIS what Gandhi would do? or Martin Luther King, Jr?
There is a form of protest...or resistance that WORKS, and sad to say, what these "occupiers" (for the most part) are pursuing, certainly IS NOT.
Rising crime, health concerns and safety in general are apparent keystones to these venues, and it all became possible because certain city leaders decided to acquiesce to these people. It's called "Peace By Appeasement".
"Give them an inch, and they'll be happy",
say the politicos...sorry, doesn't work that way.
They want MORE; it's the way they've been brought up, and it's the way they'll continue until someone decides to "teach" them otherwise.
If they follow the law and secure permits to be there for a DETERMINED period of time..fine.
But, if they break the covenant of the agreement they entered into (and paid for), then they BECOME THE LAW-BREAKERS, and need to be dealt with as anyone who breaks the law is handled. No exceptions...no excuses.
Does that go against our 1st Amendment rights?
Not when you're within the boundaries of the law...you can protest and gather all you want, provided you follow the guidelines.
After all, you DO have free speech, but you can't yell "FIRE!!!" in a crowded auditorium or similar locale.
Your right to free speech (or any right) ENDS where the next person's right BEGINS...it's that simple.
And it all comes down to being and acting in a CIVIL manner.
The key to peaceful protest and free speech comes down to the PEOPLE, and their behavior.
The worst way to get your message across is to become an asshole and tread over everyone's rights along the way.
Anarchy never promoted a peaceful solution to anything...and it never will.
The ability to maintain a level of moral and civil behavior with intelligent reasoning will prove a better ally in any situation.
And THAT is worth promoting, beginning withevery single one of us.
Do have yourselves a great week.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay safe out there, America.
