Tuesday Tidbits...

And, it's another partly cloudy (or partly sunny) day here in the Hoosierland, with temps below freezing as we start the morning.
The rest of the weather isn't going to be that bad, considering we ARE in December.
Got some breezes going on, creating a windchill in the teens, and farther south an advisory of freezing rain or light snow showers.
The high today WILL get above freezing, however...all the way up to 36 degrees.
Could be worse...lots worse, but we'll not dwell on that.
So, get yourselves a nice warm cup of comfort (mine's from the southern area...lol) and let's see what has been going on...

(guess that could also apply to some people...like a few of the "locals"...lol)
--It's also SPECIAL EDUCATION DAY.

ALL education is "special"...to someone.

--And, it's the INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE ABOLITION OF SLAVERY DAY.
(some folks left one form of slavery only to succumb to another).
--It's also GIVING TUESDAY (started way back in 2012) as a way to "counter" commercialization and consumerism following Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

(Pssst - the United Nations Foundation has a hand in it, so I'd be careful how you go about this day in that regard).

Seems we got some "people" with too much time (and ammo) on their primate paws these days.

Another person shot showing up at a local hospital (sure beats going to a DISTANT hospital)...getting to be a "trend".
This shooting took place at  another one of those "after-hours" clubs (which need to be shut the hell down).
Police were initially called to 2600 Coliseum Blvd S around 0420 hrs this past Saturday.
Minutes after that, police were called to a hospital where a male had come in suffering from a gunshot wound.
According to witnesses, around 75-100 people were at Tycoon's Cabaret and Grill when shots rang out, sending the crowd scattering.A woman noticed a man had been hit and took him to hospital.
*** Also, a BLACK male robbed a Dollar General up on the 6100 blk of Clinton St around 0830 hrs Sunday.

The armed perp got away with an undisclosed amount of money and left in a dark-colored car driven by another black male.

Now, I have to say that of ALL those projects, NOT ONE took place around OUR part of the ghettohood...(imagine that).
And we NEED streets fixed, trees trimmed, pavements fixed OR added...things that would make it look HALFWAY decent.
(the rest is up to the people living in the area).
Yeah, $20 MIL spent everywhere but down HERE, and another $20 MIL allocated for NEXT year, too.
(Wonder if anything will get done around here? Probably not, as usual)

Seems there is a budget DEFICIT regarding busing...such a shame.

NOT a good intersection to have THIS daily.

Maybe that will stop the bus stop at OUR intersection (where there never should have been one in the first place)?
This could mean a change on school hours as well, and Wifey gets up early ENOUGH as it is.
Just go back to the days when I went to school...use public transportation (offer a token discount), or let the kids WALK or get those parents up to drive them (car pool anyone?).

You ALWAYS need the "short-bus", though.

Whatta frigging concept...a system that actually WORKED and didn't cost a fortune in school buses or their usage.
If kids live LESS than a mile from the school, don't send out a damn bus...that's stupid (and costly).
Money saved that could be better spent (probably wasted) elsewhere, hmm?
When WILL they learn?
*** Last back to the house of cards today...it never ceases to amaze me in the way some people conduct what they call their life.

Pretty simple, right?

Granted, no one is perfect (and we should be thankful for THAT), but when you see places like Ferguson (and other parts of other cities) devastated by behavior that is SO uncivilized, you have to wonder WHY people prefer such a "lifestyle".
We have such creatures down here, although not nearly AS violent (yet), but certainly inclusive in the group that prefers being uncivilized.
It's all the little things that add up over time...like not keeping your property somewhat tidy.
They much prefer tossing trash into the street, because someone ELSE will take care of it.

More litter from stupid people.

They place the trash out DAYS before pickup, in direct violation of when it SHOULD be placed out (no earlier than midnight the day BEFORE).

Got us WAY too many of these.

They park too close to fire hydrants, intersection curbs, take up too many spots on the street, leaving others with NO parking in front of their OWN houses, they park on the GRASS, they "angle-park" on property (when they're supposed to park parallel to the street or curb)...it never ends.
And NO ONE seems to want to take them to task, as if saying something to a minority is VERBOTEN (forbidden).
THIS (and more) is what takes neighborhoods down the path to becoming a SLUM..or GHETTO.

What kind of life did these morons have that led them to think that doing whatever you want is being an ADULT (with responsibilities)?
It's the exact opposite...these "people" HAVE no responsibilities...that's YOUR job (to have it FOR them).
Sorry, too busy with my OWN, and besides, you couldn't pay me enough to be responsible for these idiots.

The Broken Window Theory doesn't have to solely apply to crime and those who commit it...
Someone has to teach them, however, or this blight WILL continue..,.and it WILL grow.
Sure makes you long for the days of decent parenting...and when people knew their place, respected others, and took a modicum of pride in THEIR house and neighborhood, doesn't it?
