Humpday Happenings...
Welcome to that wonderful mid-week crisis we refer to as Wednesday...or "Thanksgiving Eve" if you're getting into the holiday spirit and gearing up for Black Friday (48 hours away and counting down).
It's a tad moist outside this morning, and with the temps, could provide some slick spots on roadways and especially overpasses, so be mindful of that if you're headed out early.
Our Hoosierland weather for midweek finds us with rainy conditions through most of the day, and an expected high of around 42 degrees, but that's not gonna happen until later this afternoon, just so you know.
As for sunshine...sorry, not gonna happen either.
Now, how's about we get some coffee, tea or hot cocoa poured and parked close-at-hand, as we take a look at what's been going on elsewhere, hmm?
*** First  off of the driveway is our WHO SAID THAT? quote for the week:
"To give thanks in solitude is enough. Thanksgiving has wings and goes where it must go. Your prayer knows much more about it than you do."
I thought this to be right in tune with what tomorrow has to offer us, and what we have to offer to the day, ourselves, and to others.
So, who said that?
The answer at the top of Friday's post (even I take the occasional day off...lol).
Meanwhile, back at the Cathedrsal of Notre Dame...
*** Next up, it's time for our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
NOVEMBER 23 -
---Today is National Jukebox Day
(anyone remember one song for a NICKEL?)
---It's National Cashew Day
(gesundheit!)
---It's National Eat A Cranberry Day
(I'll drink a glass of juice instead)
---It's National Espresso Day
(giving people the caffeine shakes for decades)
---And, it's National Tie One On Day
(It's NOT what you think it is...it's an apron thing)
NOVEMBER 24 -
---Thursday is National Sardine Day
(pack 'em in)
---It's the National Day of Mourning
(odd that a day of thanks is used to mourn)
There, we have this covered until Friday.
*** Next up, let's get the STUPID out of the way before we move on...
Here we go with a story link to some more TNB.
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/police-fire/1-in-custody-after-shooting--pursuit-16469521
You be BUSTED, yo.
Sure, just drive around shooting a stolen AND altered firearm...makes perfect sense in the ghettohood. And be sure to drive a stolen CAR, as well (or at least be a passenger in it).
Tyquane L. Stewart, 24, of the 500 block of McKinnie Avenue is the one being charged in this event.
He tried running from police...didn't work out so well.
Hey, Tyquane..."DOH"!...LOL. You asshole.
Someone OBVIOUSLY did not bring THIS person up the right way...did they?
It's called the LACK of parenting, plain and simple.
Another sterling "example" of the low-information black community infesting the SE side of the city...proud of yourselves now?
---And, could it be that the "Trumpster" is walking MORE of those campaign promises back?
Relax...I got all this covered. Trust me.
He's not going to pursue criminal action against Clinton? He also sees the relation to people and climate change?
Maybe the 2nd one I can give him a pass on - the underdeveloped nations are the CHIEF cause of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere, NOT America. You're still gonna have to watch BOTH hands on this guy. Sorry, that's just how I feel about it (and him).
*** Next, and since I don't feel like bothering with all the other minutia of the city and it's goings on, let's change gears and remember something nice...
It's the FIFTY-THIRD ANNIVERSARY OF DOCTOR WHO!
That's right, today's the day, so dust off your fez, don your scarf, or just fire up the TARDIS.
It predates Star Wars AND Star Trek...imagine that.
Twelve doctors later...it's still going strong.
Now THERE is a reason for cake...with dark blue icing...lol.
*** Last back to the garage...any person of substance HAS to be a pet-lover.
Even when they're asleep, they comfort us.
I've had my share of dogs, ducks, guinea pigs, turtles, a couple hamsters as well as a few cats over all these years (a few sticking around for quite a long time), and there comes with that a certain amazement as to how such creatures can bring happiness by doing the most simple of things.
Like last night, our female was chasing my laser pointer, and she would pounce on the beam (then I'd turn it of).
When she lifted her paw, I'd turn it back on and again, she'd pounce on it...a few times, as if to say "this dot is NOT going to escape from the carpet again". When you place the beam on the ceiling, that's also funny as hell.
But, it's a lot more than lasers...so much more, in fact.
When they're sleeping, it's just so damn cute the way they cuddle up to one another.
The male is especially fascinated with all the birds that feed on the patio...stays at the door a couple hours a day, just watching them.
Naturally, the feline "crazies" also take hold in the evening...manic running about for seemingly NO reason AT ALL. Hard to get pictures of THAT. Reminds me of the human race (all the time...heh).
At least cats can turn it off...people, not so much.
I wish I had a TENTH of the energy these cats have...
It is a blessing and a true joy to have them around, just as it was when we had our former cats.
You come to realize how important something is when you no longer have it around (or are without it for a length of time)...that's for sure.
And yes, it's also a responsibility, and one which I gladly embrace, as does every pet lover.
The funny thing is, none of us are ever pet "owners", for they wind up owning US in more ways than we believe.
Not a bad thing at all...is it?
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.
(And do have a very blessed Thanksgiving Day, remembering all we truly have to be thankful for - we'll catch you on the flip-side)

I don't know who said that, but it was damn wise.

Tie one on day- I think KC wants to hit the bar tonight, lol...

Sardine day on Thanksgiving? Who came up with THAT?

Oh, of COURSE they're proud of themselves- they are "sticking it to the man", remember?

The Trump thing- goes back to the "literally v. seriously" thing Beck mentioned a while back. I'm not surprised he is walking a lot of rhetoric back as reality seeps in. But like you said, it remains to be seen how close to "just another one" he'll back up.

I'm glad you and _ and_ are enjoying yourselves!

---That quote surprised me, and you always know that doesn't happen that often.
The answer will be with the wait.
---Tell KC he'll HAVE to wear an APRON...LOL!
---The sardines threw me for a loop, too. Maybe in the stuffing? (NAH!)
---Heh, they're STICKING it somewhere (probably where the sun never shines on any of them).
---I was running with that too on this stuff, but sooner or later, he WILL have to "make good" on something, and when that rubber meets the road, we'll see how far he wants to travel.
---Yes, these two furballs are "just what the Doctor ordered"...no matter where in time & space he happens to be traveling.
Happy 53rd, BTW!

Thanks for taking the time to stop on by to comment.
Much appreciated.

You have yourselves a blessed day tomorrow and DO stay safe up there, brother.

Yeah, it is kinda funny that we have places like Bangkok, Thailand belching literal black clouds into the atmosphere, but it's my job to get my almost brand new car emission tested every other year just in case it somehow runs a little off. Uh, I don't think the latter is really balancing out the former. And I've been there, mind you - Bangkok. It looks like the entire city is covered in fog. Stay out too long in the open and your lungs start to hurt.

On a brighter note, it's awesome to see pictures of those lovely cats. Even at their craziest, a zany cat is nothing like a deranged human... which is why I prefer to stay indoors (with the animals - they're good people).

You have an awesome Thanksgiving, Bob.

ABFS:
---Every OTHER year???
Back in Philly, we had to have it done EVERY year (pass of fail - $20), but that did start back in the late 70s...
(don't have to do it yet in Indiana, although it might be a good way to get revenue for road repair rather than jacking up the gas tax again...just a thought).
---Lots of places (cities) in SE Asia look like you can cut the air with a bloody KNIFE!
Must be ALL those motorbikes (and sacred cows farting)!
---Oh, I'm with you all the way there. Better to have a crazy cat or two nipping about than dealing with a teen on PCP (or worse) ANY day!
LOL...they ARE good people...just smaller and furrier...

Thanks much for stopping by to comment.
Have a great holiday and do stay safe out there, guys!
