Tuesday Tidbits...
Did you look outside this morning and think you heard Bing Crosby, Danny Kay,and the girls singing "White Christmas" off in the distance?
Sure looks that should be going in today.
Traffic alerts and winter advisories abound, my friends.
A nice covering of wintry wonder is what we're all waking up to in the Heartland.
And the best (?) part - we have a bit more coming later tonight. Add several more inches to the FOUR we already received.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us mostly cloudy skies, temps climbing to only about 23 degrees (little melting to speak of then), and more snow overnight...can we stand the strain?
While we figure that one out (as schools close all around us), let's all get that nice hot cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa made, as we see what has been going on elsewhere...
*** First off of the snowball pile is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
FEBRUARY 6 -
---It's National Frozen Yogurt Day
(Feel free to stick some in the snow and freeze it yourself)
---It's National Lame Duck Day
(Another government observance? Methinks we have too many)
*** Next, and since we're at Tuesday, time to show you all the FWPD calls we never heard about, because the media was busy being biased against anything and everything they shouldn't be...

FIREWORKS CALLS - JAN 29 - FEB 4:
NONE! A-frigging-mazing!
*** Next up, a bit more on the drunk driver that killed a Colts linebacker and his Uber driver::
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/indiana/20180205/rokita-nfl-players-death-should-anger-nation
I do believe state rep Todd Rokita (R) should receive a "YOU GET IT AWARD" for what he had to say about the death of Colts linebacker, 26-year-old Edwin Jackson and his Uber driver, Jeffrey Monroe of Avon, Indiana, saying "this news should make all Americans angry.". And WHY should we all be angry?
Well, the drunk driver that killed these two men was AN ILLEGAL ALIEN WHO WAS ALREADY DEPORTED TWICE, and yet STILL managed to get back into our country.
Border wall NOW, anyone? Makes a damn good case, as have ALL the other crimes committed (against AMERICANS) by those illegals so adored and embraced by the bleeding-heart libtards among us.
---Also, regarding football -  the Super Bowl in particular...it had the LOWEST viewership since 2009...imagine that.
See...that guy. over there watched it
http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news/super-bowl-52-game-lowest-average-viewers-since-2009-patriots-eagles/duspyisahi1czh8myqn0pzru
Maybe people got bored with Brady (understandable). Or maybe tired of Timberlake (who isn't?) or maybe became just plain worn the hell out from the dumb commercials (a waste of good money many times).
I know another thing I dislike is all the "high-tech bells and whistles" like graphics on the damn field.
Let me SEE the game as close to being there as I could be without spending thousands of bucks to go there...hmm?
*** Next, we got us another class of "rooks" in the FWPD. Here's the story:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/police-fire/20180206/class-underway-for-latest-fwpd-recruits
Now, we're told that with THIS class, the number of officers we will have should be about 450.
Funny, we USED to have close to that number years ago...maybe THAT'S one reason crime has thrived in certain parts of town over the years. Be nice to see officers do something OTHER than chasing the damn radio...like ACTIVE PATROLS to perhaps fix some of the (many) broken windows this city has taken upon itself and allowed to occur.
*** Next up, the Whitco jail had an interesting time yesterday. Here's that story:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/police-fire/20180205/whitley-county-jail-staff-inmates-treated-after-release-of-unknown-substance
Seems they had an uppity female inmate who thought it would be a good idea to toss HEROIN on correction personnel.
(not the sharpest knife in the drawer, was she?)
If she wanted a LONGER stay at the jail...she got her wish.
(and be sure to BILL HER for the hazmat cleanup and hospital visits)
*** Next, another drug raid nets lots of charges and goodies. Here's the link:
http://www.wpta21.com/story/37436082/two-arrested-after-police-raid-fort-wayne-home
See? You can be stupid AND also be white...doesn't always have to be a minority.
Being a dumbass can come in every "flavor".
This took place at a house on Raintree Drive yesterday afternoon.
((Busted were Shawn Jefferson and Melina Roberts. Jefferson was wanted in Wabash County for driving while suspended. He was wanted in Whitley County for probation violation for attempting to manufacture meth, resisting law enforcement, driving while suspended, reckless driving, failure to stop after accident, habitual traffic violator.
He was also wanted in Kosciusko for criminal confinement, battery by means of a deadly weapon and obstruction of justice.
Roberts was wanted in Kosciusko County for failure to appear for possession of meth, unlawful possession of a syringe and possession of paraphernalia.))
Enjoy your bling, losers!
State police and county officers were also on scene with FWPD response team.
Both perps were remanded to the Kosciusko County jail as of Monday evening.
*** Next up, from the "Karma Is a Bitch Department", we have THIS:
http://www.news-sentinel.com/news/local-news/2018/02/05/mayor-tom-henry-gets-100-ticket-for-expired-license-plate/
His Majesty's Royal Motor-Coach Buick
Nice to see that our king is NOT beyond reproach, especially in a monetary manner.
A $100 ticket for an expired (temp) tag...explain to me how that happens, because I don't do that sort of thing...and neither does my wife. If I get within a couple weeks of expiration, I'm "on the horn" to as many people as I can find to expedite MY tag to ME...and ASAP. And I'm not EVEN A BLOODY MAYOR , for God's sake!
The Royal Tag expired? Oops!
There's NO reason why a tag can't be had within two weeks from the BMV...unless someone forgot. Maybe his highness shouldn't be getting a new vehicle as often (with that huge salary of his)...'ya think?
(BTW, the comments to the story are kinda funny.
*** Next, time to stop by our "Kitten Corner"...
Watching snow is SO restful.
The kids were wonderfully behaved yesterday...hardly any craziness to speak of, which is a marvel to behold. Plenty of calm around the "Fortress".
Time to go shopping yet?
They make up from being crazy by being cute...that works for us.
They seem to like the snow, but then, they don't get to be out IN it, do they?
I volunteer to stay INSIDE.
I'm sure that would produce a whole other demeanor on their part, which we won't test at all.
*** Next up, and speaking of outside, let's check in with "Midnight and Company"...
No way I'm leaving the food and water.
Our furry twosome spent the majority of the day CLOSE by our house, not that it was a bad idea, considering a consistent food and water source was readily at-hand...or is that "at-paw"?
Yep, the front looks good, Bob.
Naturally, I had supervisory help from the usual source.
And the back doesn't look bad, either.
Midnight loves to "inspect" everything when it comes to shoveling. Wish our city had more personnel AS diligent.
*** Last back to Frostbite Falls...once again, Wifey and I were the first (and so far ONLY) ones to be outside clearing our walks, steps and driveway...because WE still give a damn.
(fancy that)
We're of the mindset where we take pride in what we're permitted as far as stewardship goes...without being "prideful".
We also look at such things as doing what is expected OF us...something a LOT of others around here have absolutely NO concept of at all.
Those people are the "takers" in life. They do what they please, when they want to do it, and everyone ELSE pays the way for them because of their lack of desire to do FOR THEMSELVES.
There is a certain feeling of accomplishment when YOU do for yourself (as God allows, that is).
Self-reliance used to be a cornerstone of American society...wish it still was for the majority of people.
Maybe that's why I refrain from taking to all this self-driving car stuff...reminds me of people we see every day who operate on "cruise-control"...just going through the motions (few as they might be) and fooling others into thinking they are deserving of our pity for THEIR lack of motivation.
Yeah, sorry...not buying that one for a buck.
We all need to remember the benefits of doing for ourselves, and how that better prepares us for helping each OTHER after that. Sure would be nice to see more people taking to that, rather then all but demanding others take them by the hand through life at everyone;s expense.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Lame Duck Day and gov't observances: At least we now know the who in "Who makes these things up?" are government employees, staffing lame ducks...

Cutting and stabbing on Randalia- you know what THAT means...

Rokita- and yet yesterday, when a FB friend mentioned how one news site was trying to spin it by NOT mentioning the driver's status, someone told him that it had nothing to do with it and called my friend "trash". I will have to ask the Lord one day why that commenter couldn't have been an Uber driver that night, and see if he still thought it didn't matter...

There are still a TON of people boycotting the NFL. But head-in-sand-because-I'm-polite Goodall will never EVER blame it on that...

Heroin addicts and sellers never really seem that bright...

Wow, a "dramatic" raid... was Jack Lord called in?

SERIOUSLY- They ticketed the King? BWA-HA-HA-HA!!!!!!

Stewardship- there's the key word. You don't see it used much around people who get used to getting handed everything, or else stealing it. And you don't really here it enough among the rest of us, either. Our work has an outfit contracted to clear our lot by 530 AM. They arrived somewhere after 600, which let me to quip, "Welcome to Dowco. Bring your own shovel." I am told that they won't be getting paid- yet again. I realise we always go with the cheapest outfit possible, but EVERY OTHER BUSINESS on my way in was cleared save for us. Stewardship and work ethic and honesty in business are all pretty much lost concepts anymore.

Chris:
---Okay, that makes TWO of us that understand that now!
---DOCTOR GANGS!!! (lol)
---When it comes to liberals they tend to "overlook" what THEY believe is not important, when in fact it is THE most important fact that needs to be said.
Selective fact omission anyone?
---Sooner or later the NFL will realize the turth and find their LARGEST demographic (white males) is jumping ship more (and faster) than they choose to believe.
---Well, let's put it THIS way: House plants are SMARTER.
---Can't say for sure, but I will wager some SHAKESPEARIAN actors may have been involved. Forsooth!
---Yeah, but it's like taking money outta ONE pocket and sticking it in the other...right?
---I've always likened good stewardship as something every person is quite capable of doing (especially Christians). It's probably one of the easiest ways to SHOW others about your walk with Christ...the whole "teach by example" gig.
He allows you to have things for a reason, and your care of them tells others much, doesn't it?
But, you're right...it's lost among the chaff of society these days, sadly.

Hey, thanks much for taking time to SKI one over to comment.

Stay safe (and well-shoveled) up there, brother.
