Let's try to stay AS optimistic as we can, under the circumstances.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us (what else?)...rain, which will continue into the early evening with maybe a thunderstorm tossed in.. Temps will rise to around 55 degrees (that's not too bad), and some very windy conditions will only add to all the "fun".

Now you know what wonderful people they both were, how much they loved their children (Burnett had SIX, and he's 26 years old...wonder by how many women?) They were the life of parties and had smiles that could light up a room (or cell).
Yet, they weren't exactly "turning their lives around", were they?
It pays to find out ALL the facts about people, because we tend to hear only PART of it, and the last time I checked, every coin STILL had TWO sides.
And now you know the truth of these matters, so you can make the right call and decide for yourselves how much these two contributed to the growth of the community.
*** Next up, most sports have what is known as a "silly season" - a time when trades occur throughout the leagues, or race teams.

Yep, first it was principals at various schools, and now, it's filtering down to the secondary levels.
Guess we have to people guessing as to how they're running this dog and pony show.
My question is is "Will this make everyone, including students and parents MORE accountable, or is this a suck up to the state and whatever mandates it has coming down the pike, which means little to the kids?"
After all, it IS all about FUNDING (from whatever source you can find), so all we have to do is follow the money-trail, right?
*** Next, time to drop by our "Kitten Corner"...

The kids were a mixed bag yesterday...one of them was an angel, while ht other one was a bit more "devilish". Guess which one was which?
Gallifrey was trying to watch out of every window at once...and that didn't work out for him. One at a time...I kept telling him.
With all his energy, even HE can't be everywhere at once.

Violet, on the other hand looked a bit perplexed watching her brother dart about. She even took to running after him, seeing what he found so interesting.
Needless to say, they did tire themselves out and that meant some serious napping.
*** Next up, let's check in with "Midnight and Company"...

Our furry twosome stayed close by once again, choosing to nap right alongside the house (where I scattered some straw for them). The garage works almost as well (when the sun's out).
Midnight made a couple patrols to locales nearby, but returned when it w time to chow down.

Whiskers just stares at you through the patio door and waits for you to bring the food out. And when it's time for their last call for treats, you couldn't keep them away if you tried.
It's like I say...we got this expectation with each other. We expect to see them every day, and they expect us to feed them.
A crazy type of symbiosis, isn't it?
*** Last back to the mud room...I often wonder how the world got so screwed up.

When did we think it was okay to deviate from what used to be normal and instead, enter into a collective sort of "Twilight Zone"?
And why are so many people comfortable with such changes?
I know I can't recall ever wanting to see, or actively contributing to things being loused up beyond recognition.
Change (we're often told) is GOOD for us. I'm just not seeing it.
Granted, we do have things which make life better in small ways, but overall, what has changed from when I was little up to and including today, isn't anything close to what was envisioned for all of us.
We've become more violent (as a species), less willing to discuss anything for any reason, and willing to do anything for something. Doesn't sound like we're getting better, does it?
I know I'd love to see a positive change in all humanity...somewhere...sometime (soon).
And I'm sure many of you feel much the same way. I just hope things don't HAVE to get worse before they become better.
None of us want to look up to see bottom...do we?
