Tuesday Tidbits...

So it's not sunny outside (yet)..it IS comfortable otherwise. And yes, it's a bit rainy out there as well, but we don't have a volcano spitting lava all over, and we don t have huge cracks appearing in the ground, so I think we're doing okay so far. Still, you do have to be aware of the potentially slick conditions on the streets with the rain, and keep the umbrella handy for the first half of the day.
Our Hoosierland weather will be bringing us (you guessed it) rain early on, and then by sometime this afternoon, the clouds will part and we're expecting some sunshine to dry things up. Temps will be climbing to around 74 degrees, so that will also be easier to take.

Now, let's get a nice refreshing drink to start the day, as we see what else has been going on...

So, Indiana has a gun "removal" law that is preventing people from committing suicide.
Well, DUH!
Makes good sense, however, an the firearms are only temporarily removed.
((... firearm-related suicides have decreased about 7.5 percent over the past decade. The story also says there were no significant increases in suicides by other means during that time period.))

Maybe suicide is a cyclical thing, and that depression which can cause such cases is determined by the medications (or lack thereof) being taken at any given time.
We already know that seasonal changes can induce such behaviors.

Although the ruling was not based upon speech or religious issues, but the initial ruling by a lower court against the Colorado baker who didn't wish to make a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.
If that couple just went to ANOTHER bakery in the first damn place...right?

There you go...charity seems to be making a comeback. I will admit that at this point, the condition of the house might be such where it will have to be condemned. On a day like this, having an "indoor water feature" is not as desirable as one might think, and only adds to the problems concerning this house.

I hope and pray that Barbara manages to see herself through this, and that she can live out  the remainder of her life without the problems she currently has to endure.

Hiding in a torn grocery bag is fun.

The kids loved yesterday, and I can't say I blame them. I was very nice both inside and out, which meant a lot of nap time (because even the local mooks seemed to back off a bit from thier noise).

Yes, I CAN sleep with my head up...so?

It really is great to have the cats climbing on the sofa while you kick back and watch some TV. Something about a pet nearby that makes life a bit easier to deal with. Yes, that never gets old in my book.
*** Next, let's take a minute to check back in with "Midnight and Company"...

She has an unusual way of seeing things some days.

The furry twosome were fairly close by our house most all day, and that meant taking things easy (like their indoor counterparts).

Making sure the lawn isn't going anywhere.

Since there was no "supervisory work" to speak of (with them), they chose to just be cute, and that's fine.
Later in the early evening, they were both still around for the hand-held treats, and to just hang around with Wifey and I as we took in the nice conditions (if you can tune out the typical loud voices one block over).

Taking in a nice day on a full tummy.

Thank goodness the cats don;t seem to be bothered by that - they'd much rather watch for hummingbirds, or listen to nature noises...good for them.
*** Last back to the refrigerator...there are a LOT of angry people out there these days.

And who can blame them? I know I have to count myself among them more often than I would prefer.
But, I believe there is a difference between my anger, and that displayed by too many others.
My anger tends to be directed at things that society should not have to bear...like the Chronically Terminal Stupidity exhibited by others around us.
I look at life as a journey...not a chore.

I get angry when I see people taking unfair advantage of others. I get angry when I see criminal behavior taking place when it shouldn't. I get angry when practicality is tossed by the wayside in favor of "something better" (that typically isn't). I get angry when reason is supplanted by inexcusable behavior. I get angry when morality is kicked to the curb because "some" people think it's okay to do something "because it feels good".
I get angry when freedom is taken away for the sake if security, and we wind up with less of both.
I get angry when equality for all (now) means more equality for some over others.
And, I get angry with being angry...I mean who doesn't?
I'm sure many of you are also angry, perhaps for some of the same reasons I am, and that's fine, as long as any anger is channeled constructively towards the goal of arresting the problems we, as a society face daily.
When our anger gets away from us, and we give ourselves over to it, that is when real trouble starts. And life has enough trouble already, doesn't it?
But, when we seek a higher authority to take our anger to, we have a perfect outlet, for God is there for us...all the time.

Yet, He can't help us, if we're not willing to help ourselves to HIS love and grace, and forgiveness.
Anger can be well-managed but we have to ask ourselves one thing: Are we going to do it MAN'S way...or GOD'S way?
I'll take the latter, thank you...because I know THAT way works.
