Humpday Happenings...
There will be a change in the weather starting today, so brace yourselves.
There must also be a change in AOHELL MAIL as well, because logging in is proving a bit problematic.
People just cannot be satisfied with leaving stuff alone, can they?
Every time someone change something, it usually ends up with (that) something getting screwed the hell up.
Anyway, let's not dwell...
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us partly to mostly cloudy skies, with rain moving in around midday. Might be heavy at times with gusty winds into tonight,
Temps will rise to around 78 degrees. Guess the humidity will "stick" around
Yeah, I'd take the umbrella and drive a bit more defensively...just to be sure and safe.
Now, let's get that refreshing beverage to start the day, as we see what else is going on...
*** First off of the hat rack is our WHO SAID THAT? quote for the week:
"Maturity is the ability to think, speak and act your feelings within the bounds of dignity. The measure of your maturity is how spiritual you become during the midst of your frustrations."
I would have to say this describes very well the definition of what it means to grow up and put on the long pants.
So, who said that? The answer will be provided at the top of tomorrow's post.
Meanwhile, back at Port Gibson, Mississippi...
*** Next up, time for our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
OCTOBER 10 -
---It's National Angel Food Cake Day
(makes a good counter to devil's food cake)
---It's National Bring Your Teddy Bear to Work Day
(one word...WHY?)
---It's National Cake Decorating Day
(never a bad day for cake...decorated or not)
---It's National Curves Day
(another black male "holiday"?)
---It's National Emergency Nurse's Day
(oh, the sights they must see...more power to 'em)
---It's National Handbag Day
(yes, some women collect them like comic books)
---It's National Stop Bullying Day
(shouldn't this be EVERY day?)
---It's also World Mental Health Day
(let's get the crazies off our streets day sounds better)
*** Next, we delve into the ridiculous with this story:
https://www.buckeyefirearms.org/bloomberg-presidential-run-maybe-bloomberg-effort-buy-midterms-definitely
...and he also bans SODA.
Bloomberg as president in 2020??? Seriously???
This guy will screw up a damn ONE-CAR parade!
NO, no, and definitely HELL NO!
*** Next up, city councilmen call into question (more) funding for downtown
http://www.news-sentinel.com/news/local-news/2018/10/09/councilman-funding-for-the-landing-in-jeopardy-if-city-moves-ahead-with-1-4m-streetscape-plan/
Russ Jehl noted that: “This literally would come at the expense of neighborhoods,”
It usually DOES...and HAS.
Fortunately, it was voted down...(for a change).
Always good to hear some voices of reason on city council, however infrequent.
*** Next, could there be a solution to the Red River trash pickup problems?
https://wpta21.com/news/top-stories/2018/10/09/fort-wayne-to-announce-solutions-to-pickup-problems/
And here's a little more on this:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/20181009/city-announces-changes-for-garbage-and-recycling-collection
"The city is divided into five quadrants. We will be focusing on each quadrant each day to pick up garbage, so all of Red River's resources will be concentrated in that district on that day. We think it's going to make a tremendous change," Deputy mayor Karl Bandemer said.
Gee, and here I thought you could have only FOUR QUADRANTS in a city...fuzzy math at work here?
Maybe a QUINdrant? A PENTdrant?
How about what NYC does...BOROUGHS?
QUAD = FOUR kinda thing
Definition of QUADRANT (courtesy of Merriam-Webster)
--1a: an instrument for measuring altitudes consisting commonly of a graduated arc of 90 degrees with an index or vernier and usually having a plumb line or spirit level for fixing the vertical or horizontal direction
--b: a device or mechanical part shaped like or suggestive of the quadrant of a circle
--2a: an arc of 90 degrees that is one quarter of a circle
b: the area bounded by a quadrant and two radii
--3a:  any of the four parts into which a plane is divided by rectangular coordinate axes lying in that plane
--b:  any of the four quarters into which something is divided by two real or imaginary lines that intersect each other at right angles
Not in MY book.
That's what I was taught in school...any questions, class?
Funny, not seeing ANY mention about the number FIVE, am I? I'd run with "district".
*** Next up, let's leave the confusion behind, and drop by "Kitten Corner"...
Our kids were nicely behaved yesterday...hardly a peep from either one.
As a result, things were calm, and I have tio say there wasn't much chance to get good photos.
Still, one picture is always better than none.
*** Next, time to check in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
I know where the FOOD'S at...
The furry duo were acting most typical. She stayed near the house - he patrolled and missed lunch.
But someone has to patrol.
Actually, he didn't even finish his dinner, but he is sure to come back later and clean the bowl.
Today is wet food Wednesday, so I'm sure there will be nothing left over
*** Last back to the coat closet....ever get tired with seeing the same people doing the same old stupid stuff day after frigging day?
I know it's wearing thin on me these days.
I can't pick up a paper or see the news without what seems to be a constant repetition of the exact same crap going down.
In fact, it seems harder to find GOOD news these days, but it IS out there/
And yet, all this stupid is what we're provided with and told that this IS news...please, don't insult my intelligence.
There used to be a time when a (peaceful) protest actually MEANT something, and often led to POSITIVE change.
Today, we have the protest du jour, which typically has absolutely NO meaning behind it. And such trivialities usually come from the progressives and socialists.
The most insignificant thing can be turned into near-riotous contention.
They invite chaos, they foment disorder, and disrupt what used to be a much better nation by their actions.
The entire "in your face" aspect to these people used to be met with force by those we pay to protect the rest of us. Not so much today.
If we're not careful here, and keep allowing such anarchistic behavior to rule the day, we will lose this country's identity...and quickly.
I don't think we really want that...do we? I know it's not on my list of things to accomplish in life.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Teddy bear: Yeah, glad I missed that...

Bullying day: Surprised the Dems let one celebrate that one- might put 'em out of business.

Oh, and the next one, too...

Bloomberg: Well, that would be another step in the Dems "pay for the office" plan...

I think getting RR drivers to concentrate PERIOD would be an acceptable solution...

Whiskers is getting FAT. She ain't pickled, is she?

"....ever get tired with seeing the same people doing the same old stupid stuff day after frigging day?..." Bob, come to WORK with me...
