Well, if you're in the mood for RAIN (and who isn;t in the last week of December?) then today will be your day.
You will want to take that umbrella with you, and be careful driving, becasue the rain is supposed to be constant (whenever it decides to start).
Our Hoosierland weather for today is rather self-explanatory...RAIN! Expect it around midday.
That means cloudy skies and strong winds up to around 20+ MPH, so amend your driving accordingly, as there will be stuff blowing about
The high today will be around 45 degrees, so things won;t be freezing all over.
So what say we get a comforting drink toi start he day, as we see what else has been going on...hmm?
*** First off of the sidewalk is the answer to yesterday's WHO SAID THAT? quote:
"When a person doesn't have gratitude, something is missing in his or her humanity"
This is attributed to Elie Wiesel (September 30, 1928 – July 2, 2016) who was a Romanian-born American Jewish writer, professor, political activist, Nobel Laureate, and Holocaust survivor. And here is his WIKI:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elie_Wiesel
A rather prolific writer, he penned 57 books.
Wiesel was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1986.
It's a very good read if you're interested in the Holocaust, especially as told by a survivor.
It's also a long read, , but I think it IS well worth it.
*** Next, time for the "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
DECEMBER 27 -
---It's National Fruitcake Day
(yes, there are some that are good and edible...lol)
(and that's all there is today)
*** Next up, Our "king" reflects on the past year:
https://wpta21.com/news/2018/12/26/mayor-tom-henry-reflects-on-2018/
All well and good, your highness...but HOW (exactly) has any of this helped the SE side?
And how much better are we these days with over 40 homicides PER year?
Somehow, the phrase "through a glass darkly" comes to mind.
Why do you suppose that is?
*** Next, Another good Kevin Leininger column:
Here's the link:

*** Next up, Tis the season to steal a vehicle. Here's the story:

That's one helluva park job. |
Two men stole the SUV and led police on a chase. The driver finally lost control and hit a tree where he bailed (not before tearing up a few lawns and other items along the way).
The driver was a black man, possible 5'8 to 6'0 tall. He was wearing a black hoodie and a pair of dark colored fatigue pants and red shoes (big surprise on the SE side).

2014 mug shot |
Now, if the name of this perp sounds FAMILIAR< let's set the WAY-BACK machine to 20 March 2014, whee he (along with two other bucks) were featured in my blog in reference to BOOZE HEISTS from Kroger stores in the SE...BASKETS of booze, in fact. You'll also find his rap sheet (extensive as it was back then).
The J/G purged the original stories from their site. How "convenient".
Oh, and the FWPD might want to find out where Deandre J. Williams, and Jamarcus A. Tucker are these days.

Williams Tucker |
BTW, Latinos are notorious for leaving vehicles running to warm them up (unattended)...I see it around here a LOT.
Lesson learned for this family? Perhaps so...the HARD way.
*** Next, let's stop on by "Kitten Corner"...
![]() |
"Just looking if we missed any toys." |
Actually, they were busy playing with some of the new toys, batting them all over the family room.
(hey, it keeps them away from the tree and other things they shouldn't be messing with...right'
*** Next up, time to check back in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
Our furry twosome had a good day, although one fo them just HAD to go on patrol...guess who THAT was?
![]() |
"Hold your horses...I'm coming back." |
![]() |
"I told you not to leave. You missed lunch." |
And yes, they got wet food again (it WAS Wednesday) and back steop treats after dark.
*** Last back to the patio...stories about what happens to people bothers me...a lot.
And, such takes should bother everyone, because they don;t have to occur, and yet, they do.
All most of us wish to do is live our lives with as few problems as possible, but there are those out there who have one sole purpose - chaos.
I don't need to know WHY they do what they do...all I need to know is that such people are evil.
When you grow up, are taught the ropes, and are expected to behave in an ethical manner, it's troubling to see that other people were never taught anything worthwhile.
That invites the trouble we see today.
I'm not asking for a perfect world (that might be a tad boring anyway), but by God, we can make it a better one that what we're settling for...and we can become better people than what we're settling for.
It's easier to be good than bad. You're not looking over your shoulder or worrying about keeping your lies straight,

Even better, Ben. |
We need to corral that aspect of societal behavior before someone comes along and does that for us (as they see fit). And, I can guarantee we'll not like THAT outcome one bit. The choice (as always) is OURS.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Hi. Darn near forgot again. Got up to early, worked out too long went back to bed till noon.
OPINION: A reflection of an entire year that is half-committed to picking the wrong trash contractor- tells you all you need w/o reading.
OPINION: Leininger's title also pretty much spells it out w/o reading. Answer, not at all.
OPINION: You are good. Why was criminology never a pursuit? (Crash case)
STATEMENT: Wish I had it in me to think this world will actually improve right now. I'm not at one of those moments, but I haven't had lunch or a Papsi Zero yet. Matbe then.
Chris:
---"Darn near" ONLY counts with horseshoes and hand grenades.
(and sometimes thermonuclear devices)
---Very good call.
---Ditto.
---I once applied to the FBI (in Philly) but was not considered due to lack of college.
I just have a pretty good memory with this kinda stuff, plus decades of OBSERVING the humanity around us.
(past-life police family members never hurt either...heh)
---Even when all seems SO lost that nothing will work to change things in this world...there IS...ALWAYS...HOPE.
(and the Doctor would probably back me up on this...)
Without hope, we ARE truly done for.
Hey, thanks for stopping on by today to comment.
Stay safe (and well-lunched) up there, brother.
