Tuesday Tidbits...

They said the weather would be getting colder, didn't they?
But, at least I'm not seeing any rain or snow (which is coming around Thursday).
And I believe I saw the SUN for a very brief time yesterday...(wow).
Things are starting to dry back out once again.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us cloudy skies (again), a few light flurries,  temps rising to around 32 degrees, and (for me) that means thawing out the community cat water dish a couple times during the day.

Now, what say we break out the coffee, tea, or hot chocolate and have ourselves a cup, as we see what else has been going on, hmm?

This took olace Saturday around 1230 hrs at Winter and Capitol Sts and ended at a house located in the 2900 block of East Maple Grove Av. One man shot and in serious condition. No other information available at this time.

Only ONE day, and for a couple hours?
Yeah, you don;t HAVE to be autistic to be sensory overload, or even be at a mall.
Try sleeping on the SE side (over the past 3 decades)...THERE'S  a challenge.

Auditory assault reigns supreme down here, and not a single thing done by those in authority to quell the chronic din.
Shame I can't sleep at the MALL...lol.

I'm being good for goodness sake.

Our children once again demonstrated how good they can be (when they try).
Must be gearing up to get on the "nice" list.

Yeah...what she said.

Can't say I blame them.
I know having them around helps me a lot during this time of year.
*** Next up, let's check in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...

Our furry duo spent a lot of the day trying to stay dry, and that meant getting fed under the table for starters.

Hold on...I'm comin'

Midnight was off on patrol and Whiskers must have been asleep in the shelter, and no one came by for lunch (but they did eat later before dinner was served). They do make sure they don't miss breakfast or dinner, though.

We also got hand held treats in the late afternoon drizzle. It's worth getting a bit wet to feed these two.
Still pondering what we can get these two for Christmas. It's not like they can get a stocking full of toys.

I'm thinking on this myself.

And last year, they had the shelters, so what is left?
*** Also, Wifey made up a JIB-JAB with us and 3 of our 4 cats.

*** Last back to the medicine cabinet...it would be great if the holidays were filled with more joy and less angst.

Then again, none of us are as young as we used to be, so that's got a lot to do with it.

I've noticed the typical surge in thefts and burglaries around our area; not just in stores, but in private residences.
That's a sad commentary on our society, isn't it?

I'd like to believe that all the charitable work going on at this time of year means something, and to those being helped, it most likely does.

But, when people resort to taking from others to help themselves, that's just plain wrong.
The world is not the one we were born into any longer, because of such behaviors, and yet, we still offer hope that it can change for the better and become something of what we remembered.
In that, I think we can take a small bit of solace in knowing that good will can still be shown to our "fellow man".
Just something to think about.
