Tuesday Tidbits...

Yes, friends, it looks like another "white-knuckle" day behind the wheel out there.
Many schools (here) have already closed (smart move), so that should tell you something.
We have a nice glaze covering most everything. Just getting to our garage (a mere 10 feet away) was a bit of a challenge.

I know...Spring IS coming, eventually.

Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us mainly rain (mixed with ice farther north) , temps topping out around 40 degrees (later in the day) and it doesn't look to be anything close to a sunny day.

Now, what say we get that comforting drink to start the day (we're all gonna need it), as we see what else has been going on...

Mr. Williams hit the mark with this (as he always does), and for the right reasoning.
It's actually against the law (in NYC) to use an "improper" pronoun to describe an individual...did you know that? Sheer lunacy at work here.
Yes, we have verifiable discrimination in this country, but when people "choose" to be discriminated because OF that choice, haven;t we crossed the line when it comes to reality?
Sure would seem so.

I admit to having smoked pot ages ago...got buzzed, and that was it. Not the kind of feeling I prefer to find myself at on a consistent basis. But, it was the rock concert era, and well...there you are. I'm not into the whole stoned, out-of-control feeling, but that's me.
The whole medical MJ gig is a blurred premise at best, and I can see why a line from medical to recreational usage can be easily crossed.

Where have all the birdies gone?

The kids were very well-behaved and spent some of the day rediscovering old toys (like those stuffed mice and jingle balls).
And, after tiring themselves out, they napped.

Don't ask me...I'm busy sleeping.

After a meal, they had to sleep that off, and then had some more play time, along with watching TV with "daddy", which means they take over the living room chairs and (you guessed it)...NAP.
What a life, right?
*** Next, let's check in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
Our furry twosome stayed close by our house yesterday, and with good reason - the weather sucked. (smart cats).

Hurry up. My butt's getting cold.

When I went out around 0600 hrs, Midnight was there to "supervise" my shoveling...lol.
He stayed right by me, too. I'd shovel a little and he was right there behind me, following me around until I was finished. That will get you treats. Whiskers came around for a brief "how's it goin'?" and then she went back to the patio.

More snow, more cold, more ice...yuck!

Midnight made all three meals, while Whiskers chose to pass on lunch (in a shelter) until later on.

Well, you COULD stay in a shelter like ME.

But they both were there for "after dinner treats" while I got a wet butt, sitting on the patio steps feeding them.
*** Last back to the hockey rink...we do not live in a perfect world, but it IS the only one we have.

There are those out there who WANT a perfect world, and will pursue any means (like socialism, or worse) to make that occur.
I've got news for them...not gonna happen as long as mankind is running the show.
Sorry, but that's a very cold, very hard fact.
When flawed beings attempt to create anything without a single flaw, chaos ensues (again...fact).
But yet, some people WILL try, and usually end up with the same spectacular level of failure.
It's not our fault, and yet at the same time, it really is.
That's called REALITY, and whether we like it or not, we DO have to spend a large part of our lives residing there.

Now, we can choose to ignore the facts and reason, and logic, but that's not going to get anyone any place anytime soon.
What we (as a species) need to do is tone back this chaotic rhetoric (a lot) in order to define the problems we face.
When we can do that, reasonable solutions will present themselves, rather than some contrived reality where people are cited for improper pronoun usage, or feigned discrimination.
That would appear to be our only REAL option. And we might want to toss in a healthy dose of GOD while we're at it, because like it or not, HE is running the show...not mankind.
