So, we were supposed to have an "early" Spring...funny, I;m still waiting for it.
Seems it's taking it's fine time getting here, doesn't it?
For all intents and purposes, it feels like we had SIX more weeks of winter (to me, anyway).
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us partly to mostly cloudy skies, temps climbing to around 45 degrees, and no immediate precipitation (that's coming later in the week).

Now, let's get a nice hot cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa to chase the chill away, qs we see what else has been going on...

*** Next, Fort Wayne councilman gives his 20th State of the 6th District address:

As could be expected, this was lime the last 19 addresses from Glynn Hines.
Lots of talk about PAST "accomplishments" and more talk about future "projects".
Yada, yada, yada, right?
And, as also could be expected, we heard that "the state of the 6th district is good."...ROFLMAO!
Oh, please, tell me another fairy tale.
((Hines said he "started a journey" in 1999 that he hopes to continue.
"We knew we could make a difference in the political scene," he said. "I stay encouraged by the condition of our condition."))
Ahh, so it's NOT about REALLY improving this area...it's about the POLITICAL SCENE.

The 6th district stood still for DECADES.

Well, that makes everything MUCH clearer, does it not?
Tom Cook, Hakim Muhammed and Sharon Tucker – all Democrats – are running for the 6th District seat.
Like I stated before (more than a few times), finding anyone of the republican party to run against the "status quo" is harder to find down here than a neighbor who obeys city ordinances and is a good person!
And, by the looks of the next election for this council seat, nothing will change AT ALL...!
That's the real crime perpetrated on the SE side.
*** Next up, it's time once again to stop by "Kitten Corner"...

The kids were glad to see mommy come home...I think.
They sure got into some running around, and then they calmed back down like nothing changed at all. They got back into "napping-mode" soon enough.

*** Next, let's check in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...

Showing off for no reason.

The furry duo spent most all day close by the house. They made all three meals and treats.
Wifey went out to see them after she got back, and they were both affectionate (even if she didn't have food for them).

I don't go for showing off...much.

(yes, that's till my job...heh)
*** Last back to the clothes dryer...Poverty is not something you want to find yourself having to endure.

And yet, the Bible tells us that "the poor will always be with us".
But, when the government gets in the business of taking care of the poor, rather than allowing the natural charitable agencies (not affiliated with government) to do it, it predictably costs everyone more than it should.
And, truth be told, we STILL have the richest poor people right here in the USofA.
But, that might (still) not seem "enough":

I find this disturbing, because housing costs is something we ALL have to deal with, sooner or later (if we want a roof over our heads).

And yes, apartment costs HAVE been rising. What's even worse, the cost of buying a (decent) house is getting out of reach of a LOT of folks. So much for any type of "investment".

In some ways, incurring the long term debt of a mortgage for a house in a nice area is becoming akin to student debt (for adults).
Where some students wind up with $90K in scholastic debt, while those wishing to own a house can easily incur similar debt (or more).
The worse part, is that income is not as "guaranteed" as it used to be say, forty years ago.
Too much of our society is in a state of "flux".
Fort Wayne has been touted as having affordable housing, Allen County ranks 46th out of 92 counties in Indiana (last year, we were 47th).

The end result: "Detroitification".

And most all of the LOW income housing is SUBSIDIZED, so that tells you a lot right there. Low income housing is designed (by it's name alone) for LOW income residents (and not the lazy, don't ant to work  but live off of everyone else residents).
But we have to be careful how we tread here, because subsidizing one's life is no way to go through it.
