I have to say we didn't have to use the heat yesterday. I turned it off, in fact.
Today doesn't look to be that different from yesterday.
Our Hoosierland weather brings us cloudy skies once again, temps again rising to around 70 degrees, and a chance of a shower sometime later in the day (when, I have no idea), so be prepared for that eventuality.
Now, let's get that comforting drink poured, as we see what else has been going on....
*** First out of the starting gate is our WHO SAID THAT? quote for the week:
"Cruelty, like every other vice, requires no motive outside of itself; it only requires opportunity"
I will say that once in a while, it tales cruelty to drive out cruelty...let's make sure to see BOTH sides of the coin here.
Some cruelty cannot be expunged with an over abundance of kindness.
So, who said that? The answer at the top of tomorrow's post.
Meanwhile back at Nuneaton, Warwickshire, England...
*** Next up, is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
APRIL 17 -
---It's National Cheeseball Day
(as long as it's not bleu cheese or Limburger)
---It's National Ellis Island Family History Day
(when people came here LEGALLY)
---It's National Haiku Poetry Day
(never could get into this, but you can have at it)
*** Next, it's stories like these which both piss me ff as well ss chill me to the bone:
https://wpta21.com/news/top-stories/2019/04/16/investigation-launched-after-puppy-found-in-trash/
His name is "Barry". |
Fortunately, he is still alive, though blind, but he is available for adoption.
And I am SURE he will find the right forever home to live out his life.
As for the perp who did this? Christianity aside for a moment, this person needs to be dragged behind a vehicle for a few blocks.
*** Next up, now I'm far from being rich, but even I can see the truth in this column from Jonah Goldberg:
https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/04/tax-rich-pay-fair-share-demands-unreasonable/
None of these loons want to even consider what happens when they "run out of other peoples' money".
Sure, it would be nice to not pay ANY taxes, but I like electricity, running water, home heating, trash picked up, and police officers and firefighters on our streets, and a solid military...you get the idea.
What I DO find issues with is having our money taxed SEVERAL times over and still not getting more bang for our bucks.
We, the people can (and should) do a helluva lot better handling this.
*** Next up, it looks like the FWPD had another busy day:
https://www.wane.com/news/local-news/police-find-6-lbs-of-weed-4-300-cash-guns-2-arrested/1930925307
--Search warrants were served at two houses located at 2019 Packard Av. and 3418 Loraine Av.
Police found 2,307.2 grams of marijuana, 40.2 grams of oxycodone hydrochloride, .4 grams of cocaine, 100 mg of a liquid THC, and two e-cigarette cartridges containing THC, along with $3,200 cash, a scale and a 9mm handgun at the Packard address.
Thought you'd never get caught. LMAO! |
Jose Garza, 57, was busted for Dealing felony level 5 & 6 , and Alicia Garza, 20, for Dealing Marijuana (felony level 6) and possession of stolen property.
Hey, see if they're here LEGALLY while you're at it. You might be surprised.
Nice work by the po-po.
--Another shooting east of downtown. Here's the story:
https://www.wane.com/news/local-news/1-hurt-in-east-side-shooting/1930810506
All that's known is that two men came to the door and fired into the house..
One person has said she saw a green vehicle leave the area (that would coincide with a teal vehicle connected to another crime recently).
*** Next, it's time to drop on by out "Kitten Corner"...
The kids were a little bit less sedate yesterday, and that means some chasing was going on.
He was doing his window-watch deal, and she finally did take to a dining room chair to rest for a while.
As long as they don't get hurt, break anything, or trip me, I really don't mind them burning off that excess energy.
Makes me wonder what exactly is in that food I give them...heh.
*** Next up, and let's check in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
Our furry twosome once again had a pretty good day, but I had to call Midnight from across the street for lunch.
After that, both he and Whiskers spent the afternoon laying on the patio, taking things easy, as well they should.
And yes, we did get after dinner treats for the two of them
*** Last back to the finish line ...yesterday was one bat-sh*t-crazy day in the Summit City.
We know the police had their hands full (with INVESTIGATING).
Maybe we should call them the Fort Wayne Investigative Department.
I say that because (aside from the drug raids) if they were doing something called POLICE work, they'd catch people breaking laws BEFORE someone got injured. Yes, friends, it's the old "Broken Window Theory", and it really NEEDS to be put to practice in our part of the city.
We have so many of the "little" things going on, that you know have a tendency to evolve into much larger things, and that's when we start doing body counts and visits to hospitals, isn't it?
Seems the more officers we put on the street, the more officers we have chasing the damn police radio.
Well, THAT'S breaking the law. |
That sends a message to any of the lawbreakers..."we're watching you".
And so is THIS. |
And, it's not JUST in our area. Such behavior is repeated in many other neighborhoods on the south side. All the crime is cruelty against regular folk.
But when nothing is done to change this pattern, things WILL remain the same.
That is something you can bank on, friends.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Okay, so bear with, I'm reading blogs and figuring the M10 simultaneously yet again...
Quote: Sadly true...
CHEESEBALL!!!
Cheeseball comes
Fills the mouth and belly with joy
Crumbs stay, Cheeseball gone...
Doggie: Agreed. Betting on a little kid who wanted a dog and a parent without the brains/patience to potty train. May they get the same treatment in their old age...
Tax: After Rush reading the guy who wanted to secularize Notre Dame, I'm just scrolling by idiot SJWs today.
Busting a lot of drugs lately. Tis the season, I suppose...
KC calls me a bit ago. Said he got pulled over en route to Butler for work for being a smidge over the speed limit. Then finds out he forgot to pay his car insurance this past month. Then finds out he has an invalid licence. Cop let him off but had to impound the car. Jessica picked him up and brought him home to pay the insurance and find out what was wrong with his licence. Apparently he's been suspended for A YEAR AND A HALF because he was going to fight a ticket, forgot, and never showed at court. Doesn't even remember why he was going to fight it. I told him, "This only happens to you..."
Chris:
---Easy to BEAR with you rather than "bare" with you...heh.
---I figure the quote worked well into this post.
--_Cheeseball...Chris's national holiday?
---We are commended to love such people, but I confess to having a struggle with this.
(I do love the dog)
---I heard that show...you can bet that ND will get the "politically-correct" refurbishing it does not deserve, knowing the French.
---The "season" is JUST starting...more on that tomorrow, buddy.
---OUCH...KC really stepped in a pile there.
And NO, it ONLY happens to people who don't have the FOCUS they are required to possess in life. Record-keeping is a MUST.
---Lesson to learn here - TRY NOT to ever get a ticket. If you do, make sure you know what you did to deserve it. Otherwise, GO TO COURT to fight it or just pay up and be done with it.
Learning isn't always "fun", TRUST ME!
Thanks for taking time to drop by and comment today.
(much appreciated)
Stay safe (and ticket-free) up there, brother.
What you allow is what will continue. A true statement all around.
Some people are idiots. My daughter teaches middle/high school. Future criminals are there. "What'd I do? I didn't do that? Whaaattt?"
Susan:
---I've come to know that saying well.
(I've seen it in action)
---I fully understand what your daughter must put up with.
My wife taught high school for 20 years and had enough of this "excusable" (inexcusable) behavior these days.
We would NEVER think of doing what these teen thugs and thugettes do without blinking an eye.
It's stuff like that which gives me trust issues about the future.
And that needs to change before it's too late.
Thank you for spending some time here to comment.
Be well out there.
