If you like yesterday and the milder conditions, then you'll just love today in the Heartland.
And, barring any historical and religious building icons going up in flames, I think we might get through this without too much trouble.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us partly to mostly cloudy skies, temps rising to around the 70 degree mark, and no real sign of precipitation for the time being.

This took place early Monday around 0030 hrs on the SE side (were else?).
Damontre Burnett, 18,  had outstanding felony warrants (kidnapping and robbery) and his sister, Shardee Burnett, 21 were both arrested after a pursuit, in which Demontre tossed a S&W M&P 9mm pistol out of the vehicle Shardee was driving (a damn shame, that's a nice pistol).

You get a "group rate" for family photos?

My, these thugs are getting younger and younger.
Both are in the Allen County lockup trying out their new  "wardrobes".

Our kids had another good day, and so did I.
It's no wonder Gallifrey tuckers himself out by afternoon...he goes from window to window, looking at anything and everything. Must be our indoor "watch-cat".

As for Violet? She's happy curling up and going directly to the napping after one of her meals.

*** Next up, let's do our check in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
Our furry duo liked not being damp, and spent a good part of the day sunning themselves on the patio.

Midnight did come by for lunch (after I shook my keys to call him from across the street).

Whiskers spent some time rolling on the back lawn, and then chasing a couple butterflies.
That's right, we had some admirals fluttering around our pussy willow trees over the weekend.

Wifey and I were amazed they came out this early, with the cold snaps we've had of late.
Both cats seemed to enjoy their after dinner treats while NOT getting soaked (that makes 3 of us...heh)
*** Last back to the medicine chest...we got our property tax assessment yesterday.

Now, for the last 15 or so years, we've enjoyed this wonderful LOW tax (less than $200 per year), and we can thank the "locals" for pulling DOWN the value of our property (and every other property around us) during that time.
But, it has gone UP this year...OVER $200, in fact...(WTH???)
Our property had been assessed around $48K (and change), but THIS year, it's jumped to (hope you're sitting down)...$76K (and change)...?!?

Gee, we need new windows and doors, the front steps are crumbling, part of the wooden fence needs fixing, and our "Fortress" is worth $30K MORE?
I didn't think those 2 community cat shelters (within our gates) increased property value THAT much...LOL.
There is certainly NO other "improvements" going on around us...that's for sure.
And the rentals keep changing out residents. Some houses have had what used to be a front lawn torn up by lazy-ass morons parking CLOSER to their front door, and that looks like crap.
So what's the deal here, anyway?
Another case of ARTIFICIALLY INFLATING real estate values? It would appear so...again.

Only thing really UP around here is CRIME.

Helluva way to try and recoup tax losses from the government-sponsored who have sucked money from the taxpayers' pockets and city coffers over the years (and sucked the joy out of living here).
Funny...the more things "change", the more they really STAY THE SAME.
