Thoughts For Thursday...
By now, you're probably not the only person confused when it comes to Indiana weather.
This morning the weatherman says "showers and thunderstorms today, but no sign of severe weather". 
I think thunderstorms are severe. I'm not a fan of being out in them.
Whatever the case, let's TRY and muddle through the ambiguity.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us some rain early on (maybe a thunderstorm), with partly cloudy skies, and temps only climbing to around 73 degrees. Don't forget the humidity out there, too. Take the umbrella, just in case.

Now, let's settle back with a refreshing drink, as we see what else has been going on...
*** First out of the parlor is the answer to yesterday's WHO SAID THAT? quote:

I've always liked her music, but have yet to ever purchase an album of hers.
I will say she can bring tears to your eyes easily enough.

It's also good to see she understands people better than most and is not afraid to say so. Plus, she's  a staunch supporter of the ASPCA.

This took place yesterday around 0630 hrs in the 7300 block of Peerless Drive.
An interesting video in the story.

I'm guessing this young man called off work because of the fracas? Nice tattoos, plus he's got a 3 year old son. Not bad for a 21-year old, is it? Kids are still making more kids. A trailer park...who would have known this could happen there? Good thing there wasn't a firearm handy...right?
Update - the victim (nice rap sheet) died anyway, and is now homicide #10 for the year (so far).

This took place at the Chapel Oaks Apartments located in the 800 block of Buchanan St. around 0115 hrs this morning. And yes, that's still in the SE part of the city.
A woman was found dead after police were initially dispatched for an armed robbery call.
Police believe the armed robbery and shooting are connected.
Looks like we might have homicide #11 for the year.
---Update - FWPD are looking for a "person of interest" in connection with this. Here's that story:

Police were at Eden Green (aka The Villages at Hanna) Apts around 1000 hrs in response top a barricaded male in an upstairs unit.
The male being sought, Leon Lumpkin, 26 is currently at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

The rain we were supposed to get yesterday (and never did) got the kids up and running about.

"A glass got broken, and we got scared".

When I was getting a bowl for cereal, a glass mug fell from the cupboard shelf and shattered on the counter top. I had to keep chasing our kids OUT of the kitchen while I got all the pieces of glass off the floor and counter. Didn't want ANY of us walking on THAT.
It took some doing, but I came away with only a small cut on one finger (trying to grab the mug). I was miffed that it happened, but what can you do, right?
Things happen (for whatever reason). We'd still have the mug if I didn't have cereal...call it fate.

"Daddy made sure the kitchen floor was safe".

Anyway, after that, the kids seemed to be making up for the few days they were taking things easy. They got into a bit of a crazy-mode and dashed about upstairs and down. But, as is the case, they ran themselves into a serious nap-break.
And that usually lasts until the next meal.

Our furry twosome had a good day NOT getting wet (thanks to inaccurate forecasting). We actually got to have the lunch and dinner "on the veranda"...lol.

"Nah...time for a snooze."

We did have breakfast under the table (we had some drizzle going on).
All in all, not a bad day to take things easy, stay nice and dry, and otherwise enjoy the free food and love that's given daily at our "haven"
*** Last back to the family room...mankind tends to suffer the majority of problems that it creates on it's own.

How's that for a loaded statement? You may quite me (I think).
Aside from the natural disasters and other problems associated with our planet, we do a pretty good job of screwing OURSELVES over, generally-speaking.
War is the perfect example - power struggles, wanting something that someone else has is usually the precursor to any conflict. Trade wars, tariffs and such come about because one place can out-produce another (typically by underpaid workers in horrendous conditions).

Then you have the whole cyber arena of issues...most notably, the hacking. Taking information that does not belong to those stealing it...really big business. And that's aside from the everyday freakshow we call "social media".
Yes, mankind creates much of it's OWN problems, and then wastes a tin of money, time and resources trying to correct it.

It seems to be a never-ending premise, and one that appears to be getting more comfortable as the years pass by.
Considering that ignorance is most often the perpetrator to our problems, maybe it's time the world took steps to minimize that part of itself. If you don't give evil a place to play, it will move on. Time to take that to heart.
