Tuesday Tidbits...

We've got ourselves another fairly okay day on tap in the Summit City.
(depends on your perspective, though)
Might need that umbrella (again)...yep, rain's coming back.
And, it will eventually become warmer than yesterday (drat!), even though this morning is starting out nice and cool.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us partly to mostly cloudy skies, and some off and on light rain through part of the day (like the morning?).
Temps will top out around 80 degrees, but humidity will be less, thanks to a low dew point (still might have to crank on the A/C).

This took place at the Lowe's parking lot at 1919 N. Coliseum Blvd around 2030 hrs last evening.

((A witness told WPTA21 he walked out of the store and heard a gun go off. He said he saw a man get out of a car and “hobble” to another car before it drove off.))
Sounds like a drug deal gone kinda bad (to me).

Have to say it's a good read and says a LOT...about the black community and it's lack of embracing the legacy of the late Dr. King Jr.
I wouldn't go as far as to call America "racially sick", but I will grant you there are pockets of such disease, and on BOTH side of the political aisle.
It also is composed of BLACKS as well ss whites.
When Rev. McGill speaks of having the right "leaders", I would like to think he means in the black community, because that's where any and all aspects of hope should begin. That's where the violence is, as well.
If there is ANY "moral yardstick" to be had, it starts with EVERY individual's heart.

The kids had another good day, and that means I had another good day.

Napping in daddy's chair.

We had nap time with daddy, lots of food to eat, some neck and face rubs and a few rounds of chasing the laser pointer beam.
But Spidercat took the day off (and gave our screen a rest)...lol.
*** Next up, let's do our check in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...

Our furry twosome spent almost ALL day near the house, except for one brief time Midnight wandered across the street to roll on the walkway at that house (why, I've no ide).

"I haz a brand NEW undercover spot."

We had back step treats morning and evening, plus 3 hearty meals to fill their bellies.
They even stuck around while I mowed the back yard (again).

They get a reward for supervisory help. All in all...not a bad day.
Fluffy even stayed close by near the A/C unit, although it doesn't come by for food (runs off).
*** Last back to the ammo box...there are days that honestly shake your faith in mankind.
Take the Virginia Beach shooter. Hands in his 2 week notice then comes back and shoots a dozen co workers and kills another. He had legally obtained firearms (no "assault rifle", but two .45 caliber handguns plus a suppressor, and they ain't cheap).
According to other co-workers, he was a nice guy, so he didn't fit the profile of a "problem employee" (that we've heard of).
So, WHY does someone just "snap" and go postal anyway?
If I knew that answer, i'd be a wealthy man.

Around our city, we're becoming more like larger cities with violent crime issues, and much of it can be traced back to the minority communities.  Be careful what our city leaders wish for...it might (and will) impact the rest of us.
Sure, we have our share of white trash criminals. We'll always have crime, as long as people seek after that which they choose not to obtain by legal means. Evil doesn't seem to need a reason for it's being, as long a it has followers willing to blindly go along with whatever intent evil has in store for innocent people.

You can't try and redirect someone whose moral compass is pointed in the wrong direction if they never HAVE one to begin with, and there lies the challenge...bringing such people to a better sense of ethical behavior.
Sure, it's an old fashioned notion, but one that everyone needs to embrace...not just those of us who believe in God.
