It's Friday Already...
NO, Joe...I wasn't talking about YOU ...(sheesh).

Time again for another installment of those headlines that make us groan, shake out heads, make us laugh (or was that just an audible SMIRK?), and otherwise having us saying to no one in particular (and everyone in general)..."WTF"? So here we go....buckle up (because the law & government wants to control your life)

Demolition Begins at Harrison (Costaplenty) Square:
Man, they (city officials) just could not frigging WAIT to start tearing down the buildings that will make way for the downtown bleached mastodon otherwise known as "Harrison Square". I wish to hell the city would MOVE with THAT much BRIO and get their asses down here to raze all of these 300+ abandoned and condemned hovels littering the south side!! Cripes, it takes YEARS to get JUST ONE of these empty houses bulldozed back into Terra Firma, while Harrison Square moves along like crap through a goose (or Sherman through Georgia). Wish to hell City Council felt a lot more STRONGLY about revitalizing the entire SOUTH SIDE of the city instead of a few downtown BLOCKS...makes 'ya think, doesn't it?

Man Found Guilty Of Double Shooting:
I guess Teddy Johnson (age 22) is wishin' he was somewhere ELSE these days, especially since he's looking at (up to) 150 YEARS behind bars for his part in the shooting of two men back in February on (where else?) the city's southeast side. Personally, as long as they shoot EACH OTHER, I'm OK with that. It culls the herd nicely, and eliminates more druggies, thugs, former felons, gangbangers, and flotsam we really don't need. It amazes me how the black community says they have a problem (such as people like Teddy), but aren't doing a whole helluva lot to RECTIFY the situation.
And being poor is NEVER any excuse for being just plain STUPID, so don't give me any static about that. Some of the most notable people in the world have come from poverty to achieve a level of greatness in many fields of endeavor, so it CAN happen.

Dow Jones Mimics Gas Prices...

Here's another example of grabbing the *E* ticket ride at Disneyworld....a rollercoaster ride at Wall Street. I guess the gas prices (which have been going up and down so much lately, it looked like a $10 whore) have set the pace for stocks now. After a record posting just last week, the Dow Jones took a dive (and caused the obligatory nosebleeds to investors) of 310 points, which isn't all that much to get worried about. If it drops below...say...12,000 though...and keeps sliding downward, then I would get concerned. Keep trading.

You Call These Brass Balls?
Three northeast Indiana lawgivers...I mean law-MAKERS are pressing "Da Guv" for a reassessment of Aboite (which should make a lot of you out there feel better, which was the intent). Dave Long, Jeff Espich, and Matt Bell sent a letter to Governor Daniels asking for the reassessment. I wonder why these three men didn't seek out Pat Love (who was in charge of the assessment...remember), and ask HER "WTF is with THIS crap"? But they didn't, that I know of. Wonder why that was? Well, we ALL know these problems are due to "trending", as opposed to ACTUAL value anyway. Take this trending bull$hit and out it where the sun never shines.
Of course, since you Aboiters have come into the "fold" of Fort Wayne, your properties have decreased in value, thanks to higher taxes (what did he say?) here. It's true. I say look at EVERY house owned by someone LIVING THERE...and reassess them ALL, because NOBODY'S going to convince me that as my neighborhood goes DOWN in overall value, MY HOUSE (that we DO own and DO live in) suddenly is worth 80% MORE than it was 4 years ago. That dog just won't hunt for me.

Finally, some pithy thoughts of various issues:

Ethanol: Not worth the cost...you'll see.

Farmers: Bend over and join the club.

TRF: Fewer arrests (fewer people there as well?)

Taxes: Have some tea and we'll talk.

Our borders: Build a better fence and (try and) get over it.

Iraq: Fight to win, & if we have to leave, give them a nice "parting gift" anyway (BOOM!!)

Ft. Wayne mayoral race: Kelty or ANY Libertarian

Downtown projects: Too much crap swept under too many expensive carpets (imho).

My neighborhood: If you have to ask...you better have several hours available.

Gun control: Try (violent & mentally unstable) PEOPLE control instead...works wonders.

Smoking ban: I guess we're gonna be burning books next?

Burying the *N* word: (see previous comment directly above)

Jackson & Sharpton: (Sorry, laughing too hard to comment)

Lindsey Lohan: (STILL laughing too hard)

Paris Hilton: OK, now I'm sick to my stomach.

There you go...more of the best commentary that's barely read.....AND, plenty of food for thought....just be sure to chew completely before swallowing.

I don't make Heimlich house calls.

Stay Safe and have a good weekend, all.

Nice job on the weekly wrap-up BG! I am especially fond of your thoughts on Iraq & the border fence. Touche' Sir!

One would think that with this Harrison Square project the city would consider improving at least a five mile radius of the plighted inner city a priority. Isn't the whole point of this project to bring tourists into downtown? So basically it's "come on down and check out our city, just don't look at any of the neighborhoods around it". LOL.

Thanks for the kudos, Tim...!
(but as a m/sgt once said: "Don't call me SIR...I WORK for a living")...LOL!

You get it Jen...It's like "We're Fort Wayne...we'll soon have a DOWNTOWN...."(and that's about all, too).

Nice legacy, eh?

;)

That was the breath of fresh air I needed...

WOuld be nice to live in a part of Fort Wayne where we're not looking over our shoulder every ten minutes...or trying to hear the TV over the boomcars, or chasing people off of our property that don't belong there.

And some days, it's DAMN hard just to keep from going madder than these morons.

Then people like you guys come along, and keep ME going for another week.

It's appreciated more than you can know.

Thanks again...all of you.
(and that's as mushy as you're gonna see me get, got it? LOL)
