So gather your thoughts, sit back, sip some java, and strap yourselves in, because it could get a bit bumpy. It's not a pretty picture...it's just what's going on...

And NO, we're NOT going to talk about Matt Kelty's problem with the law, except to say that I didn't KNOW the SPANISH INQUISITION was back in town (and in vogue).

Makes one wish that burglars, vandals, noise violators, murderers, and child predators were pursued with HALF as much verve as Kelty is being pursued. I think we should just place Matt in the COMFY CHAIR for a spell to get him to "confess".
Nuff said.
Now, on to the "good stuff".
Item - Houston man tased at hospital:
I'll bet the last thing anyone expected at the Houston hospital was to see a man attempt to leave with his newborn infant...in direct violation of hospital policy.
And I'll also bet the last thing anyone expected was to see the man TASED by a police officer while STILL clutching the infant!
Both man and infant fell to the floor (naturally), and the man later claimed he was going to SUE the hospital. Child Protective Services took custody of the infant, while the "father" (who has a long history of domestic battery) was remanded to the local hoosegow. The child appears fine, and seems to exhibit no ill effects from having daddy tased. The man insisted that the child was "shaking and crying"...well, stupid...that's exactly what NEWBORNS DO....a LOT!
The infant's bracelet effectively shut OFF all the elevators in the hospital...now there's a great use of technology!
Item - Three Shootings in Five Days:
Yet another shooting took place in Fort Wayne...this time along Coldwater Road. A woman waiting in a car while her brother went to get gas was shot by unknown assailants Early Monday morning. Add this to the two men shot along Coliseum in THEIR car, as well as the young man killed FOR his car in the 4500 block of Hoagland.
I would guess that one thing you DO NOT want to do in this city is run out of gas...ANYWHERE, especially late at night or early morning. Then again, if the gas gauge worked, this might never have happened. Talk about a situation where "When the sun goes down, the creatures of the night come out". Shades of Transylvania! It's still not about GUN control...we have to find a way to control PEOPLE such as these thugs going around shooting other people, agreed?
Lobotomies, anyone?
Item - More Problems From China:
If it's not pet food, it's toothpaste...or kids' toys. Or it might even be construction of a bridge over there. One thing's for sure...they ARE on a roll.
China had their very own bridge collapse, but fortunately, it hasn't been open for traffic. But that makes me think that with ALL the crap we get from there, the odds of getting "burned" by something were in our favor. If you were to remove every item from your house that was made in China, you'd have a pretty damn EMPTY abode. Whether it's electronics, toys, diecasts, pens, cookware, flatware, clothing, or even pet food...it's coming from CHINA. Makes you long for those old "Made in Japan" days, doesn't it?
Seems someone is sacrificing QUALITY for QUANTITY...aren't they?
Lastly, some observations from the edge:
