We're STILL Gonna Need A BIGGER Fan...
Just like the late Roy Scheider said in the movie JAWS when he first caught a glimpse of that nasty Great White shark ("We're gonna need a BIGGER boat"), Americans are having a LOT of "stuff" being tossed at them. And we're talking about those GOOD Americans.
You know the ones...
The ones that PLAY BY THE RULES...follow the laws, live WITHIN their means, and not beyond it, consume what they NEED, and not what they desire.
Every workaday person that pulls in a valid paycheck, pays their (often highly unfair) taxes, and makes due with whatever situation they're presented with, and soldiers onward...those people.
The people who take care of what they have because they're worked their asses off to get it....those people.
The people that remember what traditional values were...and still practice them, in spite of what "everyone else" is doing....those people.
Yep...people just like US.
We're all gonna need a bigger fan...and pretty soon by the looks of things.
Do we need such a fan to keep cool due to all this global warming BS?
Not really, but you're probably on the right track...
We're gonna need it to catch all the SH*T that's coming our way.
And it's not going to be pretty.
The credit card companies might soon wind up penalizing the card holders who PAY THEIR BALANCES OFF by month's end.
Isn't that SPECIAL?
And we might all soon be driving cars (as I mentioned yesterday) that are ugly, unsafe, and cost way more than most of us can afford.
Everyone that is undeserving apparently gets a "bailout", while those that have played BY THE RULES (no matter how frequently they've been changed) get the sh*t end of the stick.
As is typical, we're already seeing gas prices rise (in anticipation of the summer driving season).
...Great.
We have an activist group in our midst called ACORN that proposes to help the needy (section 8ers, low income housing) that have raked in MILLIONS and then mysteriously , all the money went WHERE again?
They've already been accused of voter fraud in FOURTEEN STATES.
They're not playing by the rules, but yet THEY still have this river of dinero rolling in.
We have an overgrown government firing CEOs of car companies, regulating anything and everything, and to what end?
Maybe it's just me, but I'm not QUITE ready for SOCIALISM...not yet, and maybe not ever, OK?
Besides...RED is not "my" favorite color, kapeesh?
This nation has been rewarding the bad folks for WAY too long...and that's got to change.
And this reward program has infested every aspect of our living, whether it's in political in nature (of any shape and size), the judicial system, the free market system, Wall Street, and the media.
Bad behavior gets the gold star...the good behavior gets the brush off. Simple, huh?
Sets one hell of an example for our kids, when they grow up seeing all this crap unfold in front of them.
There is a glimmer of hope, however.
There are people that are fed up with the way things have been done, and are attempting to right things.
People are starting to become aware again.
People are not content to sit idly by while the world revolves around them.
People are speaking up.
And that which made America great is rising to the surface.
The spirit of Liberty...the spirit of freedom, and the spirit of the rights set down by our founding documents.
All of these are in play once again.
And for many, it's like a breath of fresh air.
As we approach this Memorial Day weekend, lets focus on what REALLY matters.
It's about WE THE PEOPLE.
We're not being selfish here, except to say that we're only selfish when it come to securing OUR liberties and OUR freedoms, so we can better share them with others...no more, no less.
Do we still need a bigger fan?
As long as those that "run the (freak) show" are allowed to trample our Constitution into the earth from which it (and all of us) came...sure, why not? Lincoln said that "We hold THESE truths to be SELF-EVIDENT".
Sounds like a plan to ME...how's about you?
When the crap stops getting tossed our way ('cause we play by the rules), THEN we can place that bigger fan (or any fan) aside...not before.
In the meantime, it's best to keep the fan handy...just in case.
Stay safe out there, America.

I'm a law-biding, tax-paying citizen...guess I don't qualify for a bailout eh! LOL
I got an email from my college a month ago about Obama signing a law that financial aid would still be available...guess what? I received a "new" email the other day saying that there were going to be "changes" made regarding financial and and to continue monitoring my student email to see how it would "affect" me...
It's almost comical; to get a good job in this country we need a college degree, but how is that possible if nobody can AFFORD to go to COLLEGE? It pisses me off. Grrrrr. Let's raise the cost of tuition and books, THEN reduce the financial aid offered. That way only the poor(because there isn't much help offered to the middle-class folk) and rich (because they're rich) can go to college and we middle-class folk are just that...stuck in the middle-class. Yup, it's just a *LITTLE* discouraging... *sigh*

I feel for ANYONE who has to suffer the financial burdens of college.
Let's face it, not everyone can get a full, 4 year PAID tuition at the college of their choice (be nice, though). Hell, even I'd buy into that.
I used to get bummed out about it, then I figured it was all those "civil SERVANTS" that were dictating terms to every one of us, the taxpaying "Manor owner", as it were.
Now I just get pissed off.
Not that THAT'S doing a whole helluva lot more.
But it is nice to know I've got PLENTY of company.
Any sorrow SHARED diminishes that sorrow.
Good luck in making the grade.
Lord knows we need as much as we can get ('cause no one is bailing US out...we EARN our way, like everyone else SHOULD be).
Thanks for the comments.

I don't normally break any rules, but I have been known to make them scream for mercy a time or 2 ;)
I'm tired of all the rules we are suppose to follow. And by we, I mean, the average working person. Go to work, earn a living for your family, and the neighbor and the neighbor's neighbor. Make sure you pay your taxes, because Uncle Sam needs that money to bail out the ones who can't follow any rules. Drive a hybrid car that only gets decent mileage if you actually live IN TOWN. Oh yeah, don't worry about those poor slobs out in the country, they'll get screwed driving those kinds of cars 60 miles every freaking day on the highway. And like my daughter (Galaxy Echo) said up there^^^ forget about decent student loans or financial aid, unless you are dirt poor. Obamasiah said he wanted every child to get at least one year post high school education, but your non-working parents will have to shell out for it, because we want to cut the financial aid. Pleaseeeeeee someone just shoot me now!
By the way........unwar was my captcha. Do you think it is sensing my anger?
EL:
Yeah, I'd say so...LOL!
As to how most of us feel about all this "stuff"...
I'm kinda glad my parents are not alive to see this...it would shatter whatever dream they once had.
Ditto for the grandparents.
Thanks for speaking out.
