Beyond The Veil...
...Of believability, that is.
I'll be honest with you...after all this time, there are STILL people out there that manage to surprise even ME.
And I'm sure NOT talking "surprise party" type of surprise...
I'm talking about that "shock and awe" type of surprise.
Like when you see a 1000 bomb smack mother earth and take out an area at least the size of a freaking football field.
THAT type of surprise (hopefully for the OTHER guy).
** First off, we have this 88 year old shit-for-brains racist lunatic that walks into the Washington D.C. Holocaust Museum, and opens up with a .22 RIFLE! He kills a security guard before he is wounded and carted off to the hospital (and then to jail for a murder one charge, hopefully).
So the guy had a grudge with ALL Jews and blacks...that wasn't the way to "solve" his problem.
There are way too many GOOD Jews and blacks to lump them ALL into ONE bunch, and wish ALL of them harm (or worse).
I know...I grew UP with them. Salt of the earth people, every single one of them!
And to think this disturbed individual was once a WW2 PT boat skipper (Lieutenant) and received FOUR battle awards...amazing!
It's no wonder that people feel the way they do with ANYONE connected with any supremacist organization. And yes, we ALSO have BLACK supremacist groups (they're called the Black Panthers...and street gangs).
I'm all about EQUALITY (as the founding fathers spoke to), but I'll be damned if I'm going to sign onto any group that dictates supremacy over others.
You see, MY particular situation has me dealing with the flotsam of humanity, who just happen to BE (mostly) black. We live in an area which has been slowly "gentrified" into a ghetto-esque neighborhood over the years, through careful city manipulation. Yeah, it chased almost ALL the decent people away, and filled it with rental-crib, low-life scum, who do nothing at all, but suck up YOUR hard-earned tax dollars.
Oh, we also have our share of Latino and White trash as well, make no mistake about that.
They actually wind up going TO those blacks for their drugs (when they're not cooking meth in some backseat of a car or in their house).
Surprising?
Yeah, you could say that.
And it is, if nothing else, a marvelous study in self-restraint (on MY part).
Every day, it's more reverse intimidation, reverse racism, and reverse discrimination...against US, while all WE want to do is just be left the hell alone to bother no one. Helluva way to live, but it beats going into hock past our eyeteeth to get another house AWAY from this slum dog area, and into a nice place where people still know what such words like CIVILITY, RESPECT, and ETHICS really mean.
But we DO have a "Plan B"...just in case.
** More on that fire here that killed 3 of 7 children (home alone) at 0145 Hrs the other day.
All of the children were BLACK, as was the "adult" that left them unsupervised to go "somewhere" (with food cooking on the damn stove...at TWO IN THE FRIGGING MORNING!)! Who the f$ck in their RIGHT mind does that anyway???
Goes to show that SOME folks just can't handle having children...or at least should NOT have them in the first place. Where is the BLACK community when you NEED them, anyway? Gee, there MUST have been SOME people in SOME church that "could" have prevented this...but NO, they were all MIA for some reason.
The only time we DO see the Black community is at the PRAYER SERVICES that follow such tragedies.
That's a little "after the fact", don'cha think?
Prayer isn't going to bring those kids back.
And prayer (alone) isn't going to stop crap like this from occurring.
ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT in THEIR OWN COMMUNITY WILL help immensely, but we never seem to see evidence of this happening, do we? Everyone is busy with church "socials" and get-togethers, to knock door-to-door, and canvass an area sorely in need of spiritual help.
(Must not be "entertaining" enough for them to bother)
** A police chase in Philadelphia ended with THREE children killed by a the fleeing vehicle in the Feltonville section of the city.

Now you have to realize that these streets are usually ONE-WAY and are narrow as all get out. It's more of the ROW HOMES I used to live in myself for many years.
But once again, as is the case, the perps were black (although it wasn't "officially" released) and it all started with a robbery of a motorcycle.
We see this same scenario time and again across our nation in urban areas.

Listen to your police scanners...
All I seem to hear on our radio is "black male", with an occasional "white or Hispanic" male whenever an officer pulls up on a person, or pulls over a vehicle. Also hear a lot of "black female" these days too. Yeah, they re getting as bold and brash AS their male counterparts.
Blame that on this damnable welfare (fraud) system, they've enjoyed for generations. This system was NEVER conceived or meant to be a "alternative-lifestyle". It was supposed to be a means by which you could SURVIVE until you got another job...period!
We've made it damn comfortable (for them) to do NOTHING, and then we wonder "why?" whenever they cause heinous acts like the one in Philadelphia. We swear we're going to do SOMETHING...and yet NOTHING is what gets done.
Time to get SERIOUS about changing this pattern, folks...and soon.
** Lastly...is it just ME, or are we facing some scary prospects in this nation?
We've got (more and violent) crime, and gangs, and drugs, and bailouts, and redistribution of wealth, and higher prices, higher taxes, and lower esteem when we think of our governing bodies. Who is going to stop this madness, anyway?
Certainly NOT the current D.C. administration...that's for sure.
I mean, I have to admit to a growing CONCERN about the future of this nation, economically, socially, and governmentally.
Used to be a time when you could look forward to growing up, getting a job, getting married, raising kids, buying that house with the picket fence, and then retiring, as the kids grew up and moved away to seek their own lives.
Today, NONE of that is assured...by any stretch of the imagination (unless you re filthy rich).
We can't be sure our jobs will be here one week to the next.
We can't be sure our kids won't be offed by some thug on our own streets.
We can't be sure our house will be there IF we manage to retire.
Life as we knew it, is fast fading. We're losing the ability to PURSUE, let alone ACHIEVE the "American Dream".
And the last time I checked, being able TO PURSUE THAT HAPPINESS, is something that was assured to every one of us BY our very own U.S. Constitution.
Does anyone in Washington even KNOW what that document represent these days?
I wonder...seriously, I do.
And that is what frightens me.
Hard to believe we've come this far, as a nation, only to wind up in this mess.
But, hey...we're a resilient country. We've bounced back from similar situations, and I think we've still got a few "good shots" left in the old barrel to make it past this one. Be nice to live long enough to see things get back to "normal"...right?
