Friday Follies...
Beer-Fest NOW...belongs to the ages...!
(can we STAND the strain?)
It WAS interesting that this "event" took place JUST AS that uber-flawed "health care" bill was winding it's merry way through the Capitol, wasn't it? Another case of....MISDIRECTION?
Anyway, let's declassify some of the "departmental files" to see what's been shaking down, shall we?
** From the "Who Turns Down FREE BEER?" Department:
Yes, friends, the White House "Beer Summit" is history.
And the beers of "choice" were as follows:
Obama - Bud Light
Professor gates - Red Stripe
Sgt. Jim Crowley - Blue Moon
Joe (less alcohol for me) Biden - Buckler
And not ONE REAL DOMESTIC BEER in the damn bunch!
ALL of these beer companies are owned by OTHER countries (majority holdings)...AMAZING!
Sure, they're all BREWED here, but that's bantering semantics at this point.
Kinda makes one wish for a SAM ADAMS (MA)...or a ROLLING ROCK (PA), doesn't it?
** From the "Dude, Where's My Mail?" Department:
Fort Wayne is a city of over 200,000 people, more than a THIRD of them live in the southern half OF the city, so what would YOU do if you were going to close down a few post offices in the city?
Of COURSE, you'd consider closing down the ones on the SOUTH side of the city...that's the way the FEDS work (these days).
Here's the link to the story:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20090731/LOCAL/307319935/1002/LOCAL Now, my wife and I will be the FIRST ones to tell you that we use these offices exclusively, because...well, we don' have any others...makes sense, right? And, we have to drive to them (unless you like REALLY long walks through dubious neighborhoods).
Now, it would appear that the postmaster general, or whatever other numb nut is running THIS circus, that we, on the SOUTH side of the city don't "deserve" service...nice.
After all, ghettos really DON'T have post offices, do they?
(or real shopping...just dollar stores, liquor stores, and convenience stores)
Thanks, Fort Wayne...for yet ANOTHER slap in the face for the decent folks STILL trying to live down here.
** From the "Great Money Giveaway" Department:
Again, this concerns Fort Wayne (but probably is repeated all over this nation).
The city has settled with an estate of a man who was shot by police after attempting to run an officer over with the car he was trying to get away in.
Here's the link to this article:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20090731/LOCAL03/307319995/1002/LOCAL# Now, you have to realize that this guy was a Guatemalan national, here in the USA ILLEGALLY.
And if you read the story, you find that FWPD officer Jim Arnold (who was a Marine veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan) was CLEARED of ANY wrongful actions (even by a third party investigator).
Prosecutor Karen Richards was noticeably quiet on this (another payout does that to people who SHOULD be doing their job, instead of kissing the asses of the family of an ILLEGAL ALIEN as well as a LAW-BREAKER).
The amount was $350,000, and the tapes of the police action shooting have been sealed "forever".
Nice to know our fair city of FORT WAYNE is looking out for US, isn't it?
Tell 'ya one thing, if *I* ever get into some hot water, I'm getting Mark GiaQuinta as MY attorney.
Hell, that guy will get me some decent $$$, even if I'm in the wrong.
This man knows how to get the prosecutor to tuck tail and run for cover!
I like that...
And people WONDER why citizens show less respect for authority these days. Well, when the city caves in like this, over someone that should NOT have been in this COUNTRY, let alone our CITY, they sure aren't HELPING any law-enforcement agency, are they?
As for Mr. Rodriguez...(imho), this guy gave up his rights at OUR BORDER, coming here illegally...simple as that.
Sorry, but I'm NOT seeing the USBP handing OUT those "rights" as they come sneaking across...are you?
** From the "Success WILL spoil things" Department:
The week-old CASH FOR CLUNKERS program has gone on HOLD for the time being. (officials are saying "re-assessed")
Seems the money for the program is ALREADY depleted, as people have been flocking (flocking, I tell you) to car dealers to "trade up" for a vehicle that gets better mileage (forget if it's SAFER) than the gas hog they've been driving.

Interesting thing about this...on the radio (yesterday) was a man who called a dealership, gave them all the info about his current vehicle, and when the dealer said "bring it on in, and we'll get you all set up", the man replied: "Sure, lemme get a tow truck to haul it in". There was a long pause, and the dealer then told him he was ineligible for the $4500 bucks because the vehicle was not running.
The man asked the dealer: "But what are you going to do with the car when I bring it in?"
The dealer replied: "Well, we have them crushed up."
The man said: "SO, it shouldn't make ANY difference if the car runs or not, if you're just going to crush it anyway, so...what's the problem?"
The dealer had no reply, other than to say the car had to be running when it was brought in.
The man hung up and went elsewhere.
Now this exchange brings up a curious point...why DOES the car need to be running IF it's going to the crusher???
Are these "clunkers" going to be "side-tracked" to people needing cars we don't know about?
Will they become "command vehicles" for ACORN when they form their "citizen army"?
Are these clunkers destined to wind up in inner city ghettos for yet another "entitlement"?
Rumor has it, that the ENGINES from these vehicles might be going to CHINA.
(wouldn't it be easier to send them BLUEPRINTS?)
There is a LOT more here than meets the eye, and like Glenn Beck and Jerry Doyle are fond of saying:
QUESTION EVERYTHING!
Now, I don't qualify for this program (thankfully), because my Firebird is OVER 25 years old (missed it by ONE year). Plus, my car doesn't even have 60K on the odometer (yet)...
But there is that non-working A/C and the seatbelts that don't retract, but those things aside, my car is FAR from being called anything close to a "clunker". Ditto for wifey's '96 Caprice Classic. Her dad (who gave her the car when he got a newer one) said it still looked good.
And considering that the Caprice w/ a 4.3L V8 gets about 20-25 MPG (combined) and the Firebird w/ a 2.8L V6 gets about the same, we're not hurting for total range of either vehicle.
So, to the FEDS, I'd just say CLUNK YOU!
** And lastly, from "MY Personal Opinion" Department:
ALL of the above stories should not be taken at "face value", and many times, we do that, as we're rushed about and don't have time to examine things as closely as we need to.
Life is not "just one damn day after another" (unless you live in MY neighborhood...LOL). Seriously, though...we NEED to pay attention to people...what they say...what they do, especially those in positions of authority, and most definitely, our governments, be they city/county, state, or federal.
We need to watch BOTH of their hands. Don't fixate on the one THEY want you to watch, because with the other hand, they will be doing something quite different (probably reaching in your packets yet again).
Remember, any good magician doesn't like to reveal their "secrets"...same can be said for government, in spite of any transparency they brag to us about.
I only concern myself with ONE THING, when it comes to government transparency:
I will find a way to SEE THROUGH THEIR ANTICS AND THEIR AGENDAS.
Now THAT, to me, is REAL "transparency"!
You keep your ears open, and your eyes open.
Pay attention, listen to what they are saying, and YOU will also be able to see right through them too. Have yourselves a great weekend, and remember to...
Stay safe out there, America!

you need to pick which post office you like the most and protest its closing. i hate to say this you will need to go door to door and get signatures and get ahold of your congressman. not only will you save your po. but, you will save the bid runs there (for the most part). if you act upon this now, this weekend getting signatures it will help alot. we had a branch here in indy that was going to close becouse the lease was not going to be renewed. this is in the nora target center. those people there are in 150,000 homes upward to perhaps 450,000. they had a fit and so far they have kept the po there for awhile.

here are some of my favorite links to read.

of course these are not offical websites of the post office and i am sure postal inspectors are all over them.

The rumor about engines from CFC trade-ins will go to China is bee ess. Dealers have to replace the engine oil with sodium silicate and then run the the motor like 7 to 10 minutes in order to ruin it. Any dealer who gets caught not doing so will face a $15,000 fine.

I think now the Rolling Rock brand is bottled by Anheuser-Busch. Seems like The Latrobe Brewing Company was purchased by Labatt, then Interbrew which then merged with Inbev. Sold to Anheuser-Busch in 2006. Now owned by Inbev again. I guess you could have a Iron City Light.
On the Post Office closings, the Waynedale PO is also slated to close. The USPS owns the building. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the people of Waynedale do. With the Waynedale Scotts store with the largest beer sales in Fort Wayne, something tells me that they will not take it lying down.
Mark GiaQuinta will probably pull down over $100,000.00 for the so called "wrongful death". I wonder if he is going to sue his cuz FW Fire Chief Pete Kelly and 911 Wiz-Girl Tina Taviano. Let's see Mark GiaQuinta sold some land to the City for millions of dollars for a Fire Station and the FW Fire Dept. didn't respond to the fire for 29 minutes? The station was only a few miles away. That's bull.

Thanks for the info...looks like I'm a nasty-ass PROTESTER now...on top of everything else...LOL!

Gadfly:
Hmm...nice to learn something new each day. Didn't hear THAT one.
But how much you wanna bet that the SCRAP METAL winds up in CHINA?

BR:
Aw, man..say it ain't so w/ Rolling Rock!
IRON CITY?
Figures that THEY would remain an AMERICAN company...LOL!
That DOES it...I'm getting me some WARBIRD ALE here in FORT WAYNE!
GiaQuinta is into REAL ESTATE too?
Amazing.
Seems like Mark want to OWN this city...ONE way or another (or one PIECE at a time), hmm?

Thanks for commenting, everyone.
It was an eye-opener to learn all that you had to tell me today.
Guess this old dog CAN do the "new tricks" gig...lol!

Have a good weeeknd, people!

GiaQunita is into a LOT of things...he's even on the FWCS school board. Nice to have a guy like THIS there...(I guess).

As to WHY RIchards does what she does....makes NO sense to ME...but I have heard rumors about the prosecutor's office.
After all, the FORMER prosecutor, Bob Gevers (now an ambulance-chasing DEFENSE lawyer) was KNOWN for LOSING court records, and having to toss out GOOD cases for the FWPD.

There's a LOT here in this city than meets the eye these days...that's for sure.
Wish we had some folks that could get "under the surface" and get the truth out there.

Thanks for commenting, and do have a good weekend.

Doesn't GM already build engines in China and then ships them here (or Canada) for final assembly? If we ship them old engines might they just clean them up and resell them here as new? Possibly....

Bob G. said...

Steve:
Don't know about CHINA making OUR engines (wouldn't surprise me), but I would "guess" that either CANADA or MEXICO might get the green light for final stage engine building.

We MIGHT make the PISTONS here in AMERICA, or maybe the RINGS, or perhaps even the CRANKSHAFTS, but I would love to hear from someone out there that HAS built stock US automaker engines HERE in the good old USA.
(just to allay our fears)

Thanks for coming by, Steve!

The police did no wrong, yet they are going to pay out a third of a million bucks amyway. That just doesn't make any sense.

Then, after all parties involved in the suit got a chance to see the video, and the case has been closed, we the people(who are the ones paying the third of a million bucks) are the only ones left unable to know what actually happened. That makes even less sense.

I don't point a finger at the FWPD as much as I point one at the LEGAL DEPARTMENT for the city.

Commit a crime, get killed during the offense, sue the city...win the lottery...I mean, get a settlement...yeah, that's the AMERICAN way...NOT!

And to think GiaQuinta is ALSO on the FWCS school board...wonder if he'd FIGHT for better treatment of the TEACHERS as well as for ILLEGAL ALIENS?
Makes 'ya wonder.

Thanks for stopping by.
