(forgive the poker reference, but it sounds like the makings of a straight to me)
And wouldn't you just know it...there is just so MUCH crap going on, it's hard to figure out WHERE to begin.
But, in true American style, let's sally forward and see where it takes us, OK?
** This might interest you people out there with eMachines/Gateway/Acer computer systems.
"IF" you encounter some type of O/S problem where the computer doesn't fully boot up, but rather "loops" during booting, you MIGHT have to wait up to a WEEK to get it fixed under warranty (who knew?) instead of carrying it on into a repair center.

If, however, you're just an "average shmoe" like ME, what you will probably wind up doing is "fixin' it yerself".
Having had prior experience (on OLDER systems...a LOT older, and much LARGER), I have a vague idea as to what needs to be done, so that's not THAT huge of a problem.
What YOU will have to do is wait for FedEx to show up with a few DISKS (1 system and 2 restore) for your system. They're at least FREE, as will be the "learning experience" you'll encounter.
You load the disks in, as per the instructions, sit back and have another cup of joe (cross your fingers), and HOPE things go as planned.
We almost got there.
The instructions said ONE things...and that wasn't working, so I played a "hunch" (based on that past life I mentioned earlier).
The system instructed me to hit the F12 button...so I did...nothing.
Then, I noticed that he F10 button brings up the BOOT MENU (which I can select the DVD ROM drive with the restore disk in it)...
So, like anyone out on a limb with a saw and a prayer, I chose to "Push the button, Max" (quote from the movie The Great Race...funny as hell).

That "hunch" worked perfectly, as the system restored FROM the damn disk...(again, who knew?)
The system is up, running, and hopefully will serve us well for a lot longer than the first 2 weeks.
Maybe, I'll email these mooks and let them know that not ALL systems work with F12 when F10 is available.
Or...maybe not...bwahahahahahaaaaaa.

And that is still on track for that "magic" number of 25, that I predict will be (at least) the total for THIS year.
Of course, I provide this running total as a service to those with POOLS at the office, in case you were wondering.
It's what I do.
**
It sure as hell EXPLAINS a lot about these morons, that's for damn sure.
We're still hearing fireworks (signal 44FW) most every night, and from the scanner chatter, no one wants to call them in. I know if I could figure out WHERE the hell they're emanating from, I'd call them in...I love a good citation or arrest, and these locals around here have the MOST ARRESTED development I've even seen. Actually, many of them ARE the most arrested (or should be), and I mean that in a "cuff n stuff" way.
** Michael Jackson's memorial service drew as much TV time (and viewership as....you'll love this)...as the coverage of the terrorist attacks on SEPTEMBER 11, 2001!

Jackson is JUST as "important" as the loss of over 3000 lives on that day back in 2001.
People in America have THAT MUCH CONCERN about the"King of Pop" as they did when the WTC collapsing, the Pentagon being hit, and the flight that crashed in PA (once again...who knew?)...amazing.
It's nice to know this nation has "elevated" Jackson to such lofty heights (or did we just LOWER the aspect of *911* instead?)...makes 'ya wonder, doesn't it?
**

Well, we've got a slew of BIO-ENGINEERS, hard at work, breeding and cross-breeding strains of plants, genetically modifying them so that they yield MORE grain, are less prone to insect and disease, and are heartier in most ANY meteorological extreme. Pretty damn snazzy, hmm?
(Is there a "BUT" attached to this, Bob?)
BUT...
(I knew it)

Seems that some of these "genetically-engineered" plants (and crops) "might" have some sort of "side-effect" on those who ingest it.
(that could very well be US).
There has been data released (since as far back as 1994) that "suggests" that these crops could produce fertility issues in humans...
(I'll wait a second for that to that sink in...)

Sounds like a PLAN (for some sort of world control and HUMAN EUGENICS).
Suppose those crops were ONLY eaten by "certain" people....and they couldn't have offspring...helluva way to control the populace, isn't it. If they're not bearing children, then they're not a threat, and the older ones will die off, leaving no one behind to carry that bloodline on.
Yeah...sounds like a plan...a nefariously insidious one.
But don't take MY word for it...
Google up the phrase: GENETICALLY-MODIFIED FOODS.
Be warned, you might not like all that you'll find.
It's not going to be sunshine and lollipops there.
I'm just saying...it could be part of a much larger "plan"...and we wouldn't even see it coming...would we?
(Nah...we're to busy watching Oprah, and Michael Jackson's service...and whatever other tripe entertains us)
It pays to PAY ATTENTION, friends...
I'm not saying the sky is falling (yet), but then again, taking a gander INTO that sky once in a while, just to make sure things are OK, might be in order. Trouble is, not that many take that time.

Spend a moment LOOKING, instead of viewing things around you.
And if you have questions, loosen up that tongue and ASK them, instead of wondering about them.
Remember...if people do NOTHING...then NOTHING is EXACTLY what will get done.
You have the right, and the power within you to make it happen.
Stay safe out there, America.

I have several e-machines here. Well the cases still say that, but the innards are pretty much redone. I love ripping computers apart and making better ones.
As for MJ. I can't stand it anymore! I am on MJ overload. People are treating him like he was some kind of God. He was nothing but a washed up singer.
On to the genetically altered veges and sterility. I personally don't think it's a bad plan. We can't cure stupid, but maybe we can avert a few from ever being born :D (yeah, I'm a wicked human being, it comes naturally)
Have a great rest of the week.

When it comes to swapping out the HARDware...no problem here. I love working with MECHANICAL things.
MY issues arise with the SOFTware...ARGH!
I'm from the (really) old days of COBOL, RPG2 and FORTRAN...
This here "new-fangled" O/S stuff leaves me in the dust.
Luckily my "gut" instincts still serve me well (Thanks, Obi-Wan...LOL)
Thanks for stopping over.

Bob: I don't have a problem with genetically modified seed. What I have a problem with is the seed technology agreement every one of these Fortune 500 Bullies wants me to sign before they will deliver the seed. So far I've told them to pack sand.
In terms of root work control and corn bore larvae, as a grain farmer I'm a big believer in GMO corn. It works. Round-Up corn, NOT SO MUCH. Monsanto could give lessons to the Mafia on coercive business practices.
It doesn't matter if you like GMO products or seed or not. That's the direction the industry -- worldwide -- is going and if you refuse, you will just go hungry.
I know because trying to find non-GMO seed that isn't already patented or comes with a Fortune 500 tech agreement is getting harder and harder by the day.
It's the Future, Baby!

Frank:
In certain cases, I think that (to use the old term) HYBRID strains of grains, for example, are beneficial to our survival, and, in many cases, especially in 3rd world nations...NECESSARY.
I just have issues with those geneticists that push THEIR agendae through, running slipshod over the farmers and consumers, withour proper testing of thier product for contraindications.
It doesn't help you guys (as you have stated), doesn't help the consumer (who might wind up with fertility issues...or worse) but DOES help the "bottom line" for some mega-corp!
Somehow, that doesn't seem justifiable.
Helluva future out there, hmm?
Thanks for commenting.

pretty soon. if not already the only seed you will find will be gmo. that is scary. but, i think you hit something here bob. i think your are 100 percent right that this is a plan. not only did the hair raise on the back of my head. but, i had memories on how hard it was for me to get pregnate while in the army. did they start with the mre's and move forward to the messhall then to the fields. the whole thing is an interesting concept. kinda like they really do know when the world will end or when they probley will end it for us.
take care. i am sure "they" really are reading your posts.
