Monday Musings...
Well, the 4th of July for us (the missus and I) was saved once again by the HISTORY CHANNEL.
We spent the better part of the 4th watching the series THE REVOLUTION, and I have to admit, it was a well-crafted series, as well as several hours well spent. Learned some stuff even I didn't know regarding our fight for Independence
I also decided to BBQ up some burgers and some chicken...and even though some rain came down, the food came out just fine.
That was as far as the "good" news goes...
(And now...for a lesson in CIVICS...which is sure to piss off a lot of liberals out there, but tough crap)
The BAD news was that the locals across the street (and by now, you have a pretty good idea as far as ethnicity and class-distinction go, as to who SPECIFICALLY I refer to, when I mention "the locals" aka the Aborigines) decided to have a multi-state (Illinois plates...hmm...Chicago gang ties?) HUGE freaking party.
The wife guessed at least 25 people at the house (which is slightly SMALLER than ours at 1200 square feet and change), and she came really close. There were more than THIRTY-FIVE (in 15 vehicles) that finally showed the hell up.
Now before you go and start referring to me as some sort of "Buzz-Killington", please note that I have nothing whatsoever against a good old, down-home party on the 4th!
In my old neighborhoods, we did things like that on most every holiday. It WAS less costly than driving places, and being frugal was on a lot more people's minds...(well, the ones that WORKED for a living, that is). And we never had the police break any party up. Yeah, we were THAT well-behaved.
(Ok, Bob...so when are you going to say "but..."?)
BUT...
(whew...thanks)
Whenever WE had a party, it was a lot more CIVIL in nature, and that's not to say we all sat around, groaned "yay" once an hour and stared off into empty space. We had fun. The kids had fun...the adults had fun, and we didn't bother anyone else that didn't want to BE bothered. And we knew full-well HOW MANY people could "comfortably" be attended to at anyone's house. We never did the college kids-in-a-phone booth or clown-in-a-car gig. We knew our LIMITS. We never felt a need to "share" our party with those down the street.
Things have certainly changed.
First off, the entire top half of our block was...well, BLOCKED by all these damn vehicles. God forbid if "WE" decided to have ANYONE over to OUR house (heaven forbid a FIRE ENGINE...or an AMBULANCE)...parking was NOT an option (luckily, we DO have a driveway that will accommodate 2 vehicles...everyone else...take your chances)! And of course, they had to break out the "red shirts" (much like the people were wearing in Miami when a gunman opened fire into them...must be a "cultural thang") for all to see.
Fortunately, the locals DID stay on THEIR side of the street (and I was making sure). Then, after dark, came the FIREWORKS!
(I guess the "pro" shows downtown just weren't GOOD enough)
I have to say that it was one helluva light show, but that got me thinking...
HOW THE F$CK can people who seemingly have NO job, be able to AFFORD what amounts to over SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS WORTH of pyrotechnics, anyway...hmm?
These weren't lady fingers....these were the freaking "mortar-round" variety, replete with spectacular aerial displays. And these buggers tend to sell for (at least) $10 A PIECE. I lost count after FIFTY (rounds), so you can do the math.
But wait (as Billy Mays would say), there's more...
The OTHER bunch of "locals" in the rental across the other street and down the block were playing "dueling skyrockets" with the first house...and guess WHO was "stuck in the middle" (with you?) of all this "fun"?
I mean when you were outside, you could FEEL the pressure wave of the explosion that detonated a mere fifty feet OVER our house!
That is simply TOO LARGE a variety of ordnance to be shooting off in an area that is NOT a bit more "wide open". My buddy with THREE ACRES in Harlan, IN, would have THE place to pull off this stuff...but NOT here.
I heard on the police radio that officers were not EVEN answering 44FW calls...they had to deal with all the traffic letting out from the shows downtown. Didn't see ONE car in OUR area, that's for sure. I blame the departmental "top dogs" for this screw up. It's certainly not the patrolmen's fault
Fort Wayne residents that "have" to DEAL WITH THIS CRAP (as the city loves to tell us), can thank the shit-for-brains City Council members who voted 2 years ago to ALLOW fireworks on specified days at specified times.
Good in CONCEPT , coming from a "dry city" when it came to fireworks (sparklers were OK) such as Philly..and that's all well and good. (Where's the "but", Bob?)
BUT...
City Council (with VERY few exceptions) ALWAYS fails to take into consideration the F$CKING MORONS who meander through their pitiful and meaningless lives daily without the use of something the REST of us have...namely COMMON SENSE.
The Council (erroneously) believes that EVERYONE should have the same chance to muck about with pyrotechnics, and will most definitely be practicing RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR and SAFETY in the process...
ROFLMAO...!
You people have GOT to be shittin' me, right?
When are these politicians going to learn that EVERYONE may be entitled to the same inalienable "rights" granted to us BY the Constitution, but that doesn't MEAN they have the CAPACITY to UNDERSTAND what that means...or even give a flying crap in the first place.
Some people simply DO NOT DESERVE to live among normal, law-abiding people (hint - that's why we have PRISONS).
Some people don't deserve to BEAR CHILDREN (they can't even manage a pet or THEMSELVES).
Some people don't deserve the PRIVILEGE of DRIVING A VEHICLE (lack of insurance, drunkenness on the highways, and the inability of follow SIMPLE rules of the road are prime examples)
And some people certainly don't deserve to BILK the taxpayers of this nation, who bust THEIR asses for a living (such as it is) by feigning some "poor me" mindset, just so they can get the "gub'ment" check every damn month.
So my friends...what happens when you have ONE family of decent, law-abiding people, who don't bother anyone, and simply want to be left alone to enjoy their gardens, house, and life itself, when everyone else around them does just the opposite, displaying disrespectful and irresponsible behavior (on a daily basis)?
You have some damn fine makings of a GHETTO...that's what you have.
Welcome to OUR world.
It was only a mere TWELVE YEARS AGO, when we had a lot more whites in the area, and whenever we had a holiday party or celebration, there was NONE of this crap. People plain out respected OTHER PEOPLE (and their space).
Yeah, it tends to take a lot of the wind out of one's sails when it comes to actually ENJOYING any holiday.
Yet, given the fact that these "locals" pretty much treat EVERY DAMN DAY AS A HOLIDAY (they never work, are not disabled, lame, or crippled in anyway, and they've got nothing to do all damn day BUT nothing), what gives THEM any right to impinge on those of us who DO view it as a VALID holiday?
They already get 365 days off AS a damn holiday...and they have the parties (weekly) to prove it, so WTF is with these people using a REAL holiday as just another excuse to party some more?
Now dig this...
The one group of "locals" that were shooting off a LOT of aerials on the 4th, somehow HAVE the money to BUY all this crap (and the dope they smoke outside regularly)...and YET, they hang their LAUNDRY out on the damn FENCE...!
I guess the word PRIORITIES never enters into THEIR vocabulary, does it?
WTF is MORE Important?
1-Having a means to properly CLEAN your clothes?
2-Buying fireworks to bother others?
If you're like US, you'd choose #1 without blinking an eye.
Everyone ELSE around here opts for #2...and that speaks VOLUMES as to the misdirection that is leading THEM around by the noses on their simian faces! And ask ANY police officer what the INSIDE of these houses look like...their answers will amaze you. I know...I've been in too many, and you come home wondering if you'll EVER shower all of it off of you.
It's sad, but true.
NO furniture, and a bedroom consists of a an old mattress on the floor...BUT there IS a nice new 50 inch Big-Screen TV in the living room fed by cable...gotta love that, hmm? No wonder schoolkids from houses like this come to class with NO pencils, or notebooks,.
To THEM...it's ALL about entertainment...and "status"...and one-upsmanship.
To people like you and me (and many others)...it's all about making the RIGHT CHOICES in life, taking care of the business at hand, and keeing our noses clean.
To us, there simply is NO choice when it comes to feeding our kids...OR copping that dime of crack.
To us, there is NO choice when it comes to our children's essential preparedness for the classroom...OR grabbing that sale on Budweiser 24 ozs at the grocery.
To us, there is NO choice when it comes to fixing what needs fixed (at home, under the hood of the car, or even a checkup at the doc's)...OR buying all those fireworks (didn't know WIC sponsored that crap these days).
But to these locals HERE, it's the exact REVERSE of what is considered by many of us to be NORMAL.
Which makes it easy to predict their behavior in many ways.
Think about what YOU would do, and then turn it 180 degrees the OTHER way, and you have "my" neighbors (and their disgusting behavior).
So you can see where I might become a tad cynical when I see things like THIS around MY area, because I know for certain, that this is NOT representative of main-stream AMERICA...it's just a lot of the ethnic pockets of apathy and slovenly behavior, that dot our inner cities like a pox upon mankind. And some are just fine having them around, apparently. Go figure.
Be nice to have a "vaccine" for such an urban disease, wouldn't it?
We've tried education, but THEY say it's a "white thing", and they're not interested in it.
We've tried assisting them (through welfare), and that's pretty much "busted the bank account" in this nation.
Hows'about we try to get them off their lazy asses and force them to EARN their "keep". (that's too harsh)
We've got a crapload of infrastructures that need serious mending all over the nation's cities, and who better to do it than ALL those with ALL this time on their hands, hmm?
I mean, even the residents at the damn ZOOS across America are doing MORE to earn the food they get.
They AT LEAST entertain US, when we pay our admission.
But the locals around here?
Not as interesting as the ZOO in the LEAST...but they DO make for a damn fine THESIS when it comes to psychological and/or socio-economic abnormalities.
America...Land of the FREE...and the home of the BRAVE.
Somehow, I'll wager that the freedom to act STUPID wasn't bantered about when the founding documents were being written, and any "bravado" was not based upon how large your "posse" was, or how many "gats" you have..
I believe we CAN get this train back on track, but it's going to demand vigilance and persistence on the part of ALL of us, and that especially means the black community stepping up and getting tough on their OWN people.
Stop with the hand-holding...it's not working.
We do have time to reclaim this nation for ALL people who make the right choice when it comes to freedom and liberty.
We just have to still WANT it...bad enough.
Because, we already NEED it...bad enough.
Our nation's motto says E Pluribus Unum...(From many - one).
It's NOT the other way around, in spite of what critics might falsely think.
But you already KNEW that, right?
Stay safe out there, America.

Another thought provoking and well written blog. But I have questions. Are the red shirts some gang symbol? And do you hate the low riding pants as much as I do?

I don't think they have any "gang" affiliation...perhaps some family affair atteched to them...or maybe a b'day party that coincided with the 4th.
We never did things like t-shirts.

As to the "Saggy-Bottom Boys"?

Wish they'd pass a law HERE in Ft. Wayne like they did in Nashville, a suburb of Chicago, and Dallas (Palm Beach was ruled unconstitutional...liberals...go figure)..

Another movement that IS GROWING...people are just TIRED of it.

My dad once said:
"You LOOK like a slob, that's exactly HOW people will TREAT you".

Dad knew his "stuff".

Thanks for stopping by.

Tis indeed a "cultural thang"...lol.

Couldn't make out the writing on the shirts...some had some..others did not.

But a couple of the MEN there had some killer arm "tats", and they were from Illinois (Chicago)...

When the kids were younger, we use to have huge fourth of July parties. Spent the day playing horseshoes and lawn darts. Grilled out with all the sides. Had close to 50 people. And that included the neighbors. What few we have out here. A good time was had by all. And we never had to worry about keeping any one up late, they were all at our house. I am extremely glad we live where we do.

I could never handle living in town. I don't mix well with lazy, good for nothing...........well I won't finish that line. I try not to cuss on other people's blogs.

Stay safe.

Must have been those "good old days" we hear tell about.

Don'cha MISS those times?
I know I do.

As for mixing well...my problem comes with having to deal with blatantly STUPID people...the ones that actively choose to perform on that stage....can't stand to live on the same planet with 'em.
(and we can't just shoot 'em)

;)

as long as the tattoos are not on the neck i wont be too worried. homemade ones are gang too most of the time. alot of men and young men think that all the tatts are all sooo cool. see these all the time at work when the weather gets hot the tatts come out.

and i have some friends in cook county ill and that dont mean they are gang members. so if those plates would show up in my drive that wont mean much.

not saying your neighbors are sweet and nice just saying you never know. we cant pick our relatives.

Let's just say I wouldn't class this current crop of "locals" in the same group as the decent blacks I GREW UP WITH...and went to school with...and played with...now THOSE were great people..every single one of them!

And I wouldn't trust ANY of THESE people as far as I could toss MT. RUSHMORE!

Times have surely changed.
