Monday Musings...
And so it begins, folks...another "fun-filled" week for the taxpaying public of the nation.
(yes, that WAS a smack of sarcasm)
For us, here at "the last outpost" in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, it's yet another week on the WRONG side of the river banks of ACHERON (Dante's Inferno reference for all you students of mythology, literature, and allegory).
I swear, there are some days I really feel the need to call our Children's Zoo and notify them that some of their wild animals have gotten out, and have wandered down HERE...but, then I rethink that...it wouldn't be FAIR to those wild animals currently AT the zoo. THEY didn't do anything to ME.
I have found a new mini-sign to put in the windows of the "outpost"...now I wonder HOW MANY "locals" can't (or won't bother to) read them...LOL.
I also have an 8x10 version...for those of the myopic persuasion. Feel free to click on it and save it for printout, if YOU suffer from chronic noise from assholes in YOUR area.
See? I'm looking out for everybody here.
It makes me laugh...you put up a sign in YOUR driveway that says: PRIVATE PROPERTY - KEEP OUT, and what do you have? That's right, people STILL using YOUR driveway for u-turns....amazing stupidity exhibited by these ghetto-slugs, isn't it?
They live for confrontation...and their next crack rock.
You just "hope" for the best...and always expect the worst from these morons.
Still, as we enter the week, we've plenty to think about, grin about, and get PO'ed about such as the following...
** Washington D.C. tea party draws a LOT of people.
Looks like they had more people there than at the "million man march". The UK says over 500,000 people attended, Even Washington believes this was the LARGEST march on the Capitol.
One statement I found most amusing was mentioned by one of the attendees.
She said: "This is not an 'astroturf' movement, because astroturf DOES NOT GROW", and I have to agree with her. You politicians think you can toss all the BS around, and NOT have something along these lines GROW. Even THIS old "city-boy" knows...it's fertilizer, people..things THRIVE when fertilized. Thanks for the manure, D.C.
And along those lines of politics...
** Congressman Joe Wilson (possibly, one of the truly good statesmen we have today) is being called (here we go again) a "racist" by black publishers, who are calling for a boycott of South Carolina.
Just because he spoke out of turn, and told the truth, he's a racist. (aren't we all for that matter, whenever we tell the truth?)
And the DEMS want an apology on the floor of the House...Wilson doesn't plan to accommodate them.
** Obama slaps China with tariffs regarding vehicle tires.
Now this is a classic case of biting a hand that feeds you.
Sure, the DOMESTIC tire makers (and curiously enough, their UNIONS) want to stay afloat HERE, but you have to stop and wonder about WHY many of these U.S. tire makers have sent their "off-brand" manufacturing firms TO CHINA in the first place. Most ALL low-cost domestic tires are made in CHINA.
And CHINA is the nation buying up a lot of our (deflated) bonds, and keeping a large part of OUR economy breathing.
Hell, I stated here PLENTY of times how MUCH we depend on China for damn near EVERYTHING we have these days, and I even mentioned the fact that many of our tires came from there.
So, what do you do with someone who is helping your economy?
That's right...punish them.
Now, don't get me wrong...it would be NICE to have ALL our tires made HERE, but companies made their own bed in this instance...and they are the ones that caused this problem in the first place.
** Kanye West shoots off mouth at awards, and gets tossed...
West interrupted an award presented to Taylor Swift to "claim" that Beyonce had a better video...gimme a break!
Is it just me, or is this guy a waste of protoplasm (like Snoop Dogg)?
I used to think that "God doesn't make junk", but maybe I need to rethink that assessment.
Would someone just "Notorious B.I.G". his ass, so the rest of us can get on with life?
Looks like you can still take the boy out of the ghetto, BUT...
** Serena Williams loses match and pays up.
Damn shame...looks like you can still take the girl out of the ghetto, BUT...
Williams was fined $10K for her *f* bomb tirade against a lineswoman, as well as a $500 fine for breaking her racket.
Don'cha miss the days of John McEnroe? I know I do. Then again, John was never "ghettoized" in the first place.
** And what would a party in Indianapolis BE, without a shooting, hmm?
Here's the link to the story:

Gee...gang signs were flashed...big surprise there, right?
MY question is when the hell are we going to get REALLY tough on this crap?
When do we find a way to start protecting the vast majority of a given populace, even if we have to stomp on a few others along the way?
There are times when being fair...and equal...and tolerant become as useless as teats on a bull.
Granted, these times are few and far between, but it is in the best interest of everyone that we allow those that uphold the law to manage things in this way.
You know...used to be a time when everyone pretty much knew there place in life.
People did not cross other people simply because they COULD.
And people treated one another with a lot more respect.
Perhaps that respect was born of a fear of getting one's ass kicked...or maybe it was just the way you were brought up.
Whatever the case, it worked while it lasted.
Today, many people have little respect for themselves, let alone others...and it SHOWS.
For example:
We've got SO many more gun laws and stiffer penalties for those committing crime with firearms, as compared to decades past, and yet, we have MORE crime, and more VIOLENT crime perpetrated with firearms.
And it's not the damn gun's fault.
It's a PEOPLE fault, folks!
And we got to get busy doing something about the PEOPLE...not the guns
(but it's not like you heard it here before...about 593 times, right?)
Why have we become a more violent society today? Well, I know the answer, but that would make me a racist by openly disclosing it to you.
I'll just let all of you figure that one out...and come up with the same conclusion.
That way, we can all be "racists" together...LOL.
Lastly, we're seeing light at the end of a long tunnel...at last.
** ACORN under investigation for pursuing fraudulence against the IRS in reporting income for housing.
Wow, now I know WHY my neighborhood went DOWNHILL so damn fast around me!
And that also explains why I have the "neighbors" I do, instead of decent, gainfully-employed people (who knew?), along with the fancy DONKS rolling by the house, and the drugs, and the liquor.
Also, ACORN has been dumped by the U.S. CENSUS BUREAU because of these investigations...I LOVE it.
Now, let's investigate the REAL-ESTATE market a lot more closely, and see about these Section 8'ers getting houses at the taxpayers' expense...and look into welfare fraud, food stamp and WIC fraud, and Medicaid fraud while we're all at it, hmm?
Bet'cha find some really INTERESTING things out there...
And regarding "fraud"...I've seen a local church stopping by two houses and delivering a SACK LUNCH every Saturday. Now, while I find the honking horns annoying ( well, they have to wake these people up...I mean it IS after 10AM), I find in really annoying that FREE FOOD is being given to houses that ALREADY HAVE PLENTY OF FOOD (I see them shopping and getting fast food). Also, that one house has a 2000 model Buick Le Sabre to drive her ample ass around, so she's not "starving" (even if she doesn't work and gets booze delivered to her house by several individuals).
The other house has plenty of cash for 24oz Bud Lights, as well as money for marijuana and frequent cookouts, so THEY obviously don't need a freebie food drop either.
My conundrum is whether I should notify the church about this crap.
I think I should, because this IS fraud...personally, I don;t think they should get to rent or own a house WITHOUT DOING SOMETHING TO EARN IT...but that's just me. I'm the one with this Draconian value system, remember?
If you're not dead or disabled, then, by God, there is NO damn reason NOT to "help" with whatever you get for less (or nothing in cases such as these).
I'd love to find out the games these people play to "fix the system" to their benefit (while costing everyone else a bundle).
Then again, I'd just like to have my COUNTRY...and my NEIGHBORHOOD back.
I know, I know...one thing at a time, Bob...
Patience IS a virtue, & slow and steady wins the race.
And I can also...DREAM.
Have a good week, and...
Stay safe out there, America.

Well said. I have also heard patience is a virtue, but it is one I don't possess. I'll bet a dollar to a donut that you'll have your neighborhood back before we have our country back.

I'm not "usually" a betting man, as I ONLY bet on something I know will be a "sure thing" (not that there's all that many THESE days...LOL)

Regarding my neighborhood...I can see it falling further down the crapper until it's all torn down and eventually rebuilt from scratch.
I can never hope to revitalize it all by my lonesome.

I think our NATION has a better chance of bouncing back from this precipice...and in a shorter period of time.
But I don't think I'll be around to see either one.
(dammit...and I'll miss all the "fun")

Just the way the cookie crumbles...but you NEVER...CAN...TELL, can you?

Thanks for stopping by.

you know i have been up in those apartments taking a woman i know home from work. they are not that bad of apartments. never saw gang activity there. in fact when the housing boom was going on i thought about renting there or down the street if i would have sold my home on the east side and moved near my work on the west side. but, i never did sell. if you read the article correct the party got out of hand becouse there were too meny people. makes you wonder where were the parents. and where the hell was the 13/14 year old girls parent/s....i would have been shizzzty if that was my kid. the hospital would have been too good for her becouse i would have to have a talkin with her.

hanging out at a party. and not some spin the bottle party. a bring your bottle party. bs.

Time was, when you (as a teenager) had a party...ANY party, it was ALWAYS supervised by someone's PARENT.
And there was NEVER anything that could get a party-goer a "buzz"...
When we got older, and if we still lived at home, alcohol consumption was CLOSELY monitored, and car keys WERE collected. And you never had more people over than the house could reasonably contain.

Today, it's more about street cred...who can get the most drunk, or high...who can drive the "phatest" donk...who can bring the largest GUN...who has had the most sex...who's been arrested but not convicted...who has the most "tatts"...etc.

That's pretty damn sad, when the measure of ANY person is relegated to things that have NO bearing on the INTEGRITY of that person, but tells you their story (anyway) in more dubious ways.

And that's also when "sh*t" happens.

And when you have a SINGLE FAMILY dwelling with MORE PEOPLE than can be fit into a THREE FAMILY home...trouble will find it's way there also.

But it's not about SAFETY...or BEING RESPONSIBLE...it's just about PARTYING...period.
I see that happen damn near every week around my area.
very sad.

Thanks for stopping by.
