Tales From the SOUTH Side...
Yes friends, it seems the "freakshow" down here never seems to end, but I have to pass this story along, as it concerns ALL of us.
And, as a preamble to the story I will convey, let me state that THIS is EXACTLY the type of thing that results from an "entitlement-driven" mindset.
Sadly, too much taxpayer money is wasted in these programs that aid too few of the truly needy, and too many of the WRONG people.
For those keeping track of my "prediction" of 25 homicides this year...let's say I've only got ONE MORE to go.
It could go higher, knowing the types of people involved.
So, without any further ado...

FORT WAYNE – The September death of an 11-month-old boy who suffered a skull fracture has been ruled a homicide, officials from the Allen County Coroner’s Office said Monday.
Kweli Dupri Thomas, of Fort Wayne, died Sept. 13, after being injured in his southeast-side home. The baby suffered a blow to his head – which investigators said was not accidental.
His death was ruled the 24th homicide in Allen County this year.
An autopsy was performed on Kweli in September, but final results were not complete until last week, the coroner’s office said Monday, providing no additional information.
Meanwhile, the man police say is responsible for the infant’s death, Brandon T. Black, 27, faces felony charges of neglect of a dependent and battery.
Black was baby-sitting Kweli at the child’s home, in the 4300 block of Southwest Anthony Wayne Drive, when the the fatal injury occurred, according to records.
Attempts to reach Kweli’s parents were unsuccessful.
The infant’s father, Lee Scott Bradshaw, 38, was shot to death in June.
His slaying was ruled the 16th homicide this year.










He was found by police wounded in an alley behind the BP gas station at South Anthony Boulevard and McKinnie Avenue.
No arrests have been made in that slaying.
The child’s mother is being held without bail on a probation violation in connection with a 2007 felony conviction for forgery, according to court and jail records.
Paramedics were called to the southeast-side home, where Black said he was asleep upstairs while Kweli slept downstairs with his 3-year-old sister. Black said he awoke to the sound of something falling down the stairs.
He said he saw the 3-year-old at the top of the stairs and Kweli unconscious at the bottom, court records state. Black, Dominique Thomas’ boyfriend, told investigators he tried cardiopulmonary resuscitation and called the child’s grandmother.
But the grandmother told police that Black would not help her with CPR and kept going to the kitchen to smoke a cigarette.
Kweli was taken by ambulance to Parkview Hospital and died from blunt-force trauma to the head. An autopsy showed Kweli had bruising on his stomach and chest area, as well as a skull fracture, which caused his death, court records said. Black is being held without bond on unrelated criminal charges.
He faces two trials in early 2011, one for domestic battery and one for sexual misconduct with a minor.
He has a lengthy criminal record including spending time in prison for armed robbery. ))

Okay, now we've got the specifics, and what a clusterf$ck this turned out to be.
Now, if I were to retain a "baby-sitter" for MY infant, the FIRST place I would look would be the Allen Country Jail (or at least the felony reports)...I mean these criminals DO need some kind of "second-chance", right?
Short answer: NO!
This perp should have not been on the damn streets again in the first place, and certainly NOT been near anything "breakable" (and that includes infant children), because of his propensity for violent behavior. He was already awaiting TWO (count 'em...2) trials set for NEXT YEAR, BOTH of which SHOULD have washed his sorry ass out of being allowed NEAR a child, or in ANY situation for that matter that would possibly fuel his (obviously) over-endowed level of anger.
Makes a good case for the lack of development of this person's FRONTAL LOBE, does it not?
If this were another time, I'd say the BEST punishment would be a frontal LOBOTOMY (shade of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), and that would at last render him in a state where he would harm NO ONE...anymore, and would also "justify" his being a future "ward of the state", which he will undoubtedly become.
Personally, I'd pursue the death penalty, but we ALL know that's never going to see the light of day.
And I sure do NOT want to hear ANY BS about this perp "being such a good person, life of the party, never hurt anyone"...that is WRONG.
This man gave into his brutal lust for control, and we see what happened, and hear the (usual) untruths connected with it.
This is indicative of the savage behavior manifested by those that have enjoyed so many "entitlements".
It's never enough for them...they always want more, whether it's things, money, drugs, and especially POWER...or to be more precise, CONTROL.
People such as Mr. Black live ONLY to control...anything or anyone, and woe to those that don't see life "his" way.
You want to control a neighborhood?
Chase all the good people away by fear and intimidation.
You want to control retail?
Rob enough stores often enough.
You want to control the drug trade in the area?
Shoot anyone connected with the "opposition".
You want to control a relationship (not that you know what one really is anyway)?
Beat the woman, her children, and anyone who so much as looks at you the wrong way.
Sound familiar?
It should, because it's happening in our cities all across the nation...AS WE SPEAK.
Now, some of the particulars to this case are "interesting" to say the least...
The "parents" of little Kweli (who never had a say in ANY of this) are also typical of the locals around here.
Baby-daddy was gunned down earlier this year, and Baby-Mama is currently a "guest" of the Allen County lockup for violating her probation from 2007 (for forgery)...I guess "dat dere welfah chek ain't 'nuf" tuh git bye deez days", hmm?
Perhaps she would have been a BETTER parent by getting a DAMN JOB, and making an ATTEMPT of bettering her life, and the life of her two children...'ya think? Or maybe she just fell through the cracks in our society.
Given the sheer size of a lot of these welfare queens, those are some pretty BIG cracks, and the taxpayers are footing the bill.
Interesting that baby-daddy was gunned down in the SAME area on the SE side (McKinnie & Anthony) that's been a hotbed of DRUG activity, too.
So, if I understand the "hierarchy" of these relationships, Dominique Thomas is the female in JAIL, and Brandon aka Mr babysitter is her current squeeze...nice choice of acquaintances, sweetheart. Couldn't do any WORSE, could you?
Makes me wonder if Dominique is related to the late MARIO THOMAS, who was also shot to death in a previous year (and that boy had it coming, believe me). He was a player when it came to drugs...right up there with the Parrish boys.
I know, keeping track of all the "actors" in this THEATER OF THE ABSURD is enough to make your head spin.
But, as I always say...as long as you GIVE people like this things, INSTEAD of having them develop self-worth by allowing them to EARN it, this WILL be the result. When people are taught that being a better person is more desirable to being a lowlife (and usually dead before 30), they will get the hint.
When people are (as Ben Franklin said) made to feel UNCOMFORTABLE about their "poverty", they will shy from it.
When you stop allowing criminal activity as an "out" to any form of poverty, that will go a LONG way to change the current mindset from a "gimme dat free sh*t" to a "YES I CAN" one.
And, I'm sure if Kweli had been allowed to grow up in a PROPER environment, free from the drama, the anger, the violence, and the criminal element, and with some GOOD role models, mentors, and even parents that gave a damn, he would AGREE with you.
But we shall never know.
