What's So Important About Today...
Well, it's NOT my 60th birthday, so it can't be that, but there are some very interesting things that occurred today.
But first, let's take a peek at some other things...
*** Gabby Douglas failed to medal in the uneven parallel bars...but she's got nothing to feel THAT bad about - she's pretty much guaranteed millions of $$$ in endorsements, and that should help out with burgeoning costs for her training (not ALL athletes are rich folks).
The USA dropped behind China again in overall medals (only by ONE) and Russia slipped past Great Britain to place THIRD (by two medals) overall.
Here's the link to the lowdown:
And THIS article REALLY cheesed me the hell off:
People took to "social media" to CRITICIZE Gabby Douglas' HAIR...gimme a damn break, people!
Leave the kid ALONE, and leave her hair ALONE.
This is the result when dumbass people with more time than intelligence get their primate paws on an iPhone and get to texting.
As the author of the article said: "Shame on them"...indeed.
*** I want to take a moment to give ALL those in the "lame-stream media" a lesson in PROPER pronunciation.
We've been hearing and reading about the ex-military man, a hate group follower, and neo-Nazi bassist that went into a Sikh temple and shot six worshipers dead, including the temple leader, but so many reporters do NOT know how to PRONOUNCE the ethnic word...SIKH.
I keep hearing it said as though it were SICK, when in fact, it's SUPPOSED to be said like SEEK...with me so far?
Some reporters DO get it right, but not enough.
Cripes, just watch the original Star Trek episode SPACE SEED to hear the PROPER pronunciation...!
Khan Noonian Singh was a SIKH (say it...SEEK).
Here's a WIKI on it:
(and this is worth reading)
And for God's sake, DON'T confuse the Sikhs with MUSLIMS...that's like comparing APPLES to say...AARDVARKS!
Sikhs wear TURBANS...Muslims wear tablecloths...I mean KEFFIYEHS, which can be worn AS a turban, but usually is wound about the head LOOSELY...just so's you all know.
Sikhs aren't out to kill everyone else in the world, either...they actually fight on OUR side...in the GOOD GUYS ARMIES, especially Britain, and have a remarkable history during WW2...and even long before that.
So remember...it's SEEK...not SICK.
The only SICK people are those who are ILL...
(and these media college grads are supposed to be "professionals" ?)
*** Okay, so today is 7 August...what's the big deal, you say?
It's time for some HISTORY, boys and girls, because too many folks say not much happened in August.
Well, TODAY happens to be the day when in:
1782George Washington orders the creation of the Badge of Military Merit to honor soldiers wounded in battle. It is later renamed to the more poetic Purple Heart.
1789 – The United States Department of War is established.
1791 – United States troops destroy the Miami town of Kenapacomaqua near the site of present-day Logansport, Indiana in the Northwest Indian War.
1794 – U.S. President George Washington invokes the Militia Acts of 1792 to suppress the Whiskey Rebellion in western Pennsylvania.
1909Alice Huyler Ramsey and three friends become the first women to complete a transcontinental auto trip, taking 59 days to travel from New York, New York to San Francisco, California.
1942 – World War II: the Battle of Guadalcanal begins – United States Marines initiate the first American offensive of the war with landings on Guadalcanal and Tulagi in the Solomon Islands.
1947Thor Heyerdahl's balsa wood raft the Kon-Tiki, smashes into the reef at Raroia in the Tuamotu Islands after a 101-day, 7,000 kilometres (4,300 mi) journey across the Pacific Ocean in an attempt to prove that pre-historic peoples could have traveled from South America. (great book)
1955Tokyo Telecommunications Engineering, the precursor to Sony, sells its first transistor radios in Japan.
1966 – Race riots occur in Lansing, Michigan.
1976 – Viking program: Viking 2 enters orbit around Mars.
1978 – U.S. President Jimmy Carter declares a federal emergency at Love Canal due to toxic waste that had been negligently disposed of.
1998 – The United States embassy bombings in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania and Nairobi, Kenya kill approximately 212 people.
And after all that (and some more stuff that also happened) the world has NEVER been the same since...
But we never hear about these things today...do we?
So now you know...the REST of the story.
*** Lastly today, we keep hearing about all forms of control..government control. gun control, birth control, calorie control, blood pressure control, cruise control, remote control...what-EVER control.
Does anyone stop to think that what is REALLY needed is good old SELF-CONTROL???
I mean, wouldn't THAT alone negate so many of those OTHER forms of control being shoved down our throats and up our...alimentary canals?
Ben Franklin noted that we should pursue "Everything in moderation - nothing to excess", and that must surely mean more than the meals and drink we partake, correct?
Quaintly enough it's SELF control that keeps ALL of us from becoming raging homicidal maniacs every damn day, isn't it?
Unfortunately, some folks can't "resist the urge", and give in to their basal instincts.
Why we, as a nation...as a people cannot condone more vociferously the fact they we ALL need more self control in our own lives is beyond me.
Perhaps it's the lack of RELIGION in many lives, or rather, the SUPPRESSION of religion by the leftists that's causing the angst.
Whatever the case, again we find that we need to return to our roots, and if that means being based in all things of a Biblical nature (as so many of our founding fathers believed), then it might be worth a shot...again.
Everything can be good for you and everything can be bad for you...it all depends on the QUANTITY that you chase after, rather than the QUALITY of that which you embrace.
Let that be your guide today as well as tomorrow.
Be well, be informed, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America

06 August 2012

Monday Musings...
Here we go again, friends...back into the fray for another week.
At least THIS week promises to be a lot more "user-friendly" when it comes to weather.
Temps are expected to be in the 80s ONLY with lows down into the upper 50s...open up those windows and turn OFF the A/C!
And, as usual, we've PLENTY of things to get our brain cells motivated today, so without any further ado, let's get busy with it, shall we?
*** We made it to MARS...AGAIN!
Here's the skinny on this car-sized rover now on the red planet:
http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/msl/
And HERE:
http://news.yahoo.com/greetings-mars-huge-nasa-rover-makes-daring-landing-053720693.html
This was unlike past missions where the rover was inside a multi-ballooned landing vehicle.
This time, a "sky-crane" method for landing the large rover was employed, and it apparently went off without a hitch (that allowed some people to keep working and saved a buttload of money).
There is a new conference planned for 0900 today, so stay tuned for updates about CURIOSITY, now on Mars.
*** Sunday's local paper (J-G) had an article that got me saying "here we go again", and when you read it, you'll definitely know WHY.

Here's the story link:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20120805/LOCAL/308059951/0/SEARCH
This is a pretty GOOD read, if you're interested in HOW the city might seek to increase it's revenue..at YOUR expense.
Fort Wayne is looking at the possible ways to raise revenue (still, or is that again?), and I have to wonder if this is the tip of that "budget deficit" ICEBERG other larger cities have fallen victim to?
I saw the same things happen back in Philly, and we already KNOW about Detroit...and San Bernadino, CA, and a number of other places chronically operating (?) in the RED, right?
Now, the immediate future for Ft. Wayne is okay...for now, but starting in 2014, things will begin to get a little "sporty", and not in a good way.
(recall the movie We Were Soldiers for a similar application of the word SPORTY.)
There are several ways to raise (needed) revenue in the future:
1) Raise INCOME taxes to lower property taxes.
2) Raise INCOME taxes for public safety.
3) Eliminate the local homestead credit.
4) Reduce Spending.
5) Spend cash reserves.
6) Raise the wheel/surtax.
7) Raise fees and fines.
8) Create a capital development fund.
9) A property tax referendum
10) Annexation.
The operative word here seems to be "RAISE".
And of course, this is aside from the 30 or so other "entities" that can (and will) ALSO levy tax increases to fund THEM...like the AIRPORT.
Now, there seems to be an overwhelming "theme" behind most ALL of these "ideas"...namely RAISING TAXES to some degree or another.
The first two propose a higher INCOME tax...all well and good when you have PUH-LENTY of jobs that can FUND that one...and a populace that isn't habitually on the government teat sucking heartily away while being as UNproductive as possible, right?
I do like #7, especially the FINES part of it.
And we ALL know how well #10 went over in say...ABOITE TOWNSHIP, don't we?
Ft. Wayne "could" do what they did in Philly - create a "city wage tax" (back there it was almost 3x the amount of the state tax). This tax was "said" it was for the privilege of working in Philly...well, that's a buncha BS. They taxed people that DIDN'T work in Philly...but just LIVED there as well. Brought in a crapload of moolah...and look at the city TODAY...borderline broke...and very badly bent, thanks to the nearly 50 years of democrat "rule" and runaway spending, funding pension plans that cannot logically be sustained.
The solutions to such issues are many, and WILL bring in money...in the short-term.
In the long haul, it's only going to get worse for city residents (that means more EXPENSIVE to hang around there).
For some, an easier solution will be forthcoming...MOVE AWAY from Fort Wayne, and thereby take their TAX MONEY with them...
How will THAT figure into any tax revision or tax increase when the TAX BASE goes bye-bye???
Short answer: The city screws itself...nicely.
"Would you like some VASELINE to go with that tax bill, Mr and Mrs,. HOMEOWNER?"
*** And in a wonderfully RELATED story, there's this little gem that is much like a postscript to the last story.
This deals with the phenomenon called "White Flight" (which isn't ALWAYS relegated solely to WHITES, but the "drive-by media" doesn't want you to know as much).
White Flight occurs when an area begins to decline, but this can also occur when jobs cannot be found in as plentiful a venue as they once were.
Here's an EXCELLENT explanation of this situation, with the ramifications that a city will suffer as a result:
http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-white-flight.htm
I found the COMMENTS listed below the article as worthy of reading as the story itself, because people from ALL ethnicities seems to be having the same issue, some in much the same boat as Wifey and myself...(just at a different oar).
THIS is the result...plain and simple.
Real estate practices like "Blockbusting" and "Redlining" have BOTH been culprits in OUR part of Ft. Wayne...for several decades, and we can clearly see the result of such dubious endeavors...such as increasing crime and a lack of both everyday amenities and that good old "quality-of-life" the MAYOR (King Henry) touts.
He ought to live down HERE for just ONE MONTH...he'd be singing quite another tune by them, I guarantee.
*** Now, to make matters possibly worse (or better, depending), there comes this story about HUD wanting to place a SMOKING BAN in their properties.
Here's the story link:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20120805/LOCAL0201/308059945
In MANY cases, I think this is a GREAT idea...what with all the HUD (read taxpayer-sponsored) houses that mysteriously BURN THE HELL DOWN around here (and no, the STOVE is not auxiliary heating in winter, and should not be ignored or left alone when HOT GREASE is on it, dumbasses).
Cripes, almost EVERY WEEK we hear about some house torched due to some stupidity displayed by the residents.
The DOWN side to a smoking ban, is that it will create OTHER areas that WILL become impromptu "smoking zones" after a fashion...and I am NOT going to start chasing people off of MY corner property because they feel they can smoke THERE and not in their "crib"...
That sh*t isn't gonna fly with me one damn bit.
If people were more PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE ...and CAREFUL, stuff like this would never have to be enacted...would they?
*** The London Olympics were something to create a sense of awe this past weekend (well, to ME, anyway)..
A few names stood out for me, and their individual accomplishments, as well as their own stories were amazing to watch and listen to.
-- Oscar Pistorius - born in South Africa with deformed feet that had to be amputated when he was an infant, making it into the finals of track and field with PROSTHETIC LIMBS, and initially placing 2nd (to qualify for the next event) in his heat before losing the semi final race..amazing story of courage and perseverance.
-- Mo Farah and Galen Rupp - two long distance runners who trained together in the USA (Farah is from Great Britain and Rupp from the USA) finished the 10,000m race FIRST AND SECOND..astounding!
-- Michael Phelps ends his career with TWENTY-TWO medals over THREE Olympics...
Amazing!
-- McKayla Maroney missed her chance at an individual GOLD medal with a dismount fall (vault horse) in the gymnastics finals allowing Romanian gymnast Sandra Izbasa to win by less than one point in the overall scoring...
It was a nail-biter for certain.
You can' win them all, even if you have in the past.
Everyone has an off day.
We did slip in the total medal count behind China...again.
Here's the link to the current results:
http://www.london2012.com/medals/medal-count/
Still, very nice to see the HOST country solidly in THIRD place!
*** Lastly today...we see the ups and down that face not only our cities, but of individuals.
The victories can be glorious, and the defeats can be crushing, but through all of it, the need to keep moving FORWARD is what is important.
In the final analysis, it's not really about any COUNTRY...or EVENT...or MEDAL...it's about PEOPLE.
Always seems to come back to that, whether we talk about gun control, employment (or in this economy, the LACK of it), societal issues or whatever else the fates toss at us. PEOPLE always have been and always will be the determining factor of success OR failure.
Many do quite well, while some perform in an exceptional manner. And yes, there are some who will do as little as possible, in the hope that someone else will come along and do whatever it might be FOR THEM.
All that is required is the EFFORT...the opportunity, and a willingness to do what needs to be done WHEN life asks it of us.
In that, I think we can pretty much all find consensus.
Have yourselves a great week.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

03 August 2012

Friday Follies...
Welcome to the WEEKEND...at long last!
More heat and some humidity tossed into the mix today for the Summit city, with temps again expected in the mid-90s.
So, just because all the stores have those "back-to-school" sales, that doesn't mean you put away the Hawaiian Tropic, shorts or fans...keep 'em ALL at the ready...you're probably going to need a combination of them for a bit longer.
With that said, let's take a gander into what has been going on around us, fair enough?
*** First up today a very disturbing story from the Motor City (which has been highly disturbed for the last few decades).
Here's the story link:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20120803/NEWS03/308039975/1006/NEWS
Yes, I would suppose that THESE days, hiding a DB (dead body) in Detroit is VERY easy.
In a city that USED to be in the TOP FIVE as as far population goes, Motown has hit extremely hard times...and, truth be told, it's all been BY DESIGN.
When you're one of a handful of people left in an area that used to be FILLED with families, it can take a physical AND mental toll on you.
When you see your neighborhood CHANGE around you, and NOT for the better...it can get scary at times.
(I speak from experience here.)
For some, scary has become the ROUTINE in their lives...like for 74-year old Ella Dunn, the woman mentioned in the story.
You look at these once NICE neighborhoods, and I swear, you could film some sort of post-apocalyptic movie on the damn streets...like a news season of THE WALKING DEAD...(only many of the DEAD found there are far from being able to walk, as police find out whenever they come across a body).
Sometimes, a person walking down some desolate block comes across a DB...it's that much of a problem.
And that's aside from ALL the "short-dumping" that goes on...bathroom fixtures, furniture and bags of crap just tossed along the area.
What few houses left standing are in deplorable condition, save for the (fewer still) occupied homes.
Some can say ti was the AUTO industry who's to blame...well, the auto industry is STILL clicking along...that hasn't changed.
What HAS changed was allowing the wrong people to come into neighborhoods, chasing the good folks out, and the good folks can be blamed for NOT taking a damn stand and saying "we're not going to put up with this sh*t in OUR neighborhood".
All the while, the politicians stood by and did nothing.
And, as we all know, when a city's tax base erodes and jobs move elsewhere, along with the PEOPLE that used to work them, their tax MONEY goes WITH THEM...and then you have to shave city services, deny raises, cut staff, and so on.
What you're eventually left with is a city of less than 700,000 that is used to serving over TWO MILLION...and provide services for THAT number...
Can't be done, because much of the tax revenue has gone bye-bye, so you cut...and cut...and cut some more, except for all the freebie programs that created and fostered that "entitlement mentality" allowing people who SHOULD be working to NOT be working, and that also cannot be sustained.
Helluva snowball down one HELLUVA mountain, don'cha think?
That's what leads to cities like San Bernadino, CA going belly-up (third city in THAT state).
The pension programs for all the public safety people cannot be sustained now, and that takes more money out of the coffers...with nothing (or very little) going back in...a very VICIOUS circle that needs to be broken ASAP.
Time will tell if anyone has a real plan to save our cities...
*** This is the kind of story that invariably follows one like the previous tale.
Here's the link:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20120803/LOCAL07/308039944/1002/LOCAL
Here we have a woman caught committing FOOD STAMP FRAUD...big surprise THERE, hmm?
Angel L. Fink, 27, of the 2200 block of Barr St lied on applications when she filed for "assistance".
She had a BotM (boyfriend of the month, as I like to call 'em) living with here, and apparently HE was making some scratch, which would have rendered her ineligible for food stamps.... so she did what ALL of these folks do...LIE THEIR ASS OFF and said he didn't live with her, and hope they don't get caught.
Angel DID...to the tune of $21,585.
Now, had she SAID he lived with her, she WOULD have been eligible (???).
Yeah, it's a convoluted program, meant to confuse..at least to those of us that don't "game the system".
Thank the PROGRESSIVES for such wonderful things...
*** Da Prez just signed ANOTHER executive order, an THIS one is a beaut...
Here's the link:
http://dailycaller.com/2012/07/27/obama-backs-race-based-school-discipline-policies/
"RACE-BASED" discipline???
Called "The White House Initiative On Educational Excellence", this is basically designed to (once again) level the playing field because we ALL know that ONLY BLACKS are disciplined more severely than any OTHER race or ethnicity...such BS is beyond the scope of comprehension (imho).
But, if the BLACK kids are the ones causing problems in schools (with guns and other weapons in backpacks and drugs in their lockers, as we see in the FWCS districts), then should they NOT be disciplined based on the SEVERITY of the infraction to school policy?
What this will mean is that WHITES and ASIANS will get summarily suspended for things the BLACK kids don't get suspended for.
Much of ALL this has to do with the 70% of black kids born out of wedlock...the decay of the TRADITIONAL family, and the lack of accountability of he BLACK MEN to "own up" to THEIR responsibilities in a serious relationship...it's that simple.
And the article backs that up...totally.
Gonna be a fun time in the classroom in the near future, unless this new inequality gets the boot out the nearest school room door.
*** Gabby Douglas wins GOLD in London.
This is a great story about a great kid with such starry-eyed optimism.
And the ability to ACHIEVE...endure the rioguh things and come through a winner.
I look at her smile and I find myself smiling...it's that infectious.
She does remind me of the girl in the movie The Polar Express, too...such a similarity.
And that girl in the movie was born to lead...much the same can be said for young Gabby.
Michael Phelps gets his 20th Gold, and we're FINALLY ahead of China in overall medals.
Here's the link to the current result.
http://www.nbcolympics.com/medals/index.html
And HERE:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/olympics/medals/
With track & field still to go, this will be quite interesting...I mean, i want to see WHO is the "fastest man on the planet"...aside from THE FLASH...lol.
*** Lastly today...I have to say it - the government has NO DAMN BUSINESS in making things like these it's "business" in the first place.
This is all about CONTROL...plain and simple.
They want to control us...when WE should all be busy controlling OURSELVES.
When you allow someone else to drive, and you don't know where you're going or how you'll get there, you COULD wind up in Bumf$ck, Egypt.
It's like when the mob "takes you for a ride...BLINDFOLDED"...somehow, you get the distinct feeling that it's not going to wind up as an all-day fun-filled outing at SIX FLAGS...(probably some vacated and dilapidated neighborhood in Detroit instead), right?
There comes a time in every person's existence when they ALL have to get with the program, and that program is called LIFE.
You chart your course, set sail, and prepare for some of the worst weather you can imagine...but you ALSO know that you are determined to come just a s good, if not better on the other side.
Many seek a higher guidance in that proposition, while others rely on their own ability to adapt, and move forward.
Whatever works to make you a better individual should be the key, as long as you don't seek to harm others, or attempt to defraud another person OR yourself. One thing we do well is lie to ourselves, and the first step is being TRUTHFUL with yourself.
Get over THAT hurdle, and things become a bit easier to deal with.
And any one if us can overcome such hurdles...much like our very own Olympians.
I look at them and I see a good future...good role models...and a good sense of self in their eyes.
Would that a lot MORE people would see as much in them...as well as themselves.
They might be surprised in a good way...for a change.
Do have yourselves a fantastic weekend.
Be well, make a difference to someone today, and as always...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

02 August 2012

Again With The Heat...
Welcome to the "almost Friday" edition with temperatures in the Summit City expected to top out around the mid NINETIES...(whew)...here we go again. Another day spent anywhere BUT outside, right?
So for the time being, let's kick back, take it easy for a spell, sip on our beverage of choice, and see what's shaking out and about.
*** First out of the gate is the answer to yesterday's WHO SAID THAT? quote:
"If we win, nobody will care. If we lose, there will be nobody to care."
This was spoken by none other than Sir Winston Churchill, during a secret session of the House of Commons, 25 June, 1941 - Winston S. Churchill: His Complete Speeches, 1897-1963, VI,1874, p.6438
Meanwhile, back at Parliament...
*** Looks like yesterday's Chik-fil-A Appreciation Day was a HUGE success...although the "lame-stream media" would have you believe otherwise.
Aside from FOX, hardly a mention anywhere else..well maybe some LOCAL stations carried something about it...like WE did in Fort Wayne.
Here's the story link:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20120802/LOCAL/308029980
Nice to see people with VALUES showing support for local businesses in such a marvelous manner.
Wifey and I would have went as well, BUT...we couldn't really see driving WAY WEST or WAY NORTH to get to one of the ONLY TWO Chik-fil-As in town (they don't place them in ghettoland, apparently...and I can see why).
When you stop to think about what places we DO have on the SE side of town...there ain't that much..AT ALL.
The BEST place to go is the Wendy's at the old Southtown Mall area.
The BK at Southgate is ghetto, as is the (formerly nice to eat at) Pizza Hut.
The McD's around the area are ok...if you HAVE to go there, but don't expect great service or correct orders, unless you make your request REAL basic (and can speak ebonics).
The Arbys is fine, but you can't eat what they call "roast beef" ALL the damn time. It's more liked sliced processed beef.
Think of it like the BOLOGNA of beef...LOL.
REAL roast beef is something I make...usually on some Sunday afternoon.
All the other places are a toss up, depending on WHERE and WHEN you go.
And you know it's bad when they close down a TACO BELL in the Ghettohood...!!!
(cripes, most of the moolies here LIVE at that place, especially after midnight...when the Mary Jane kicks in, and the hunger pangs hit).
We don't have a Richards' Restaurant any longer...the crime saw to that.
And the King Gyros place closed on S. Anthony and moved WAY west in the city (thank you, entitlement society).
Even the Long John Silver's across from the K-Mart on S. Anthony is gone...but the relatively new McD's isn't bad...if you go EARLY.
Real sit-down venues are slim and none, given that Casa D'Angelo closed a while back.
The Renaissance near the Southtown site is STILL there (gotta love those Greeks), as is Azar's in Waynedale (great breakfast buffet...!!!).
But NO Chik-fil-A...never gonna happen until the "scenery" changes drastically.
Still, we have all those convenience stores out the ass, and I suppose that's fine, because they all obviously take the EBT cards that purchase all the crap foods these "locals" tend to place in their primate paws...yepper, now THAT IS PROGRESS, friends.
Thankfully, the CHINESE restaurants do OK, and most all their food is good and tasty, but you should shy away from the lunch buffets when the "welfare queens" come to sup...it's not a pretty sight (and neither is the restaurant when they're finished tying on the feed bag).
Aside from all this...the best place to grab a bite to eat on the SE side...is usually SOMEPLACE ELSE!
(wow...the same way it is with RETAIL...amazing.)
*** Is there is one person I feel this planet could do WITHOUT...it's SNOOP DOG (or whatever the f$ck his real name is)...!
Now, you have to hand it to ONE nation for taking a stand against this mook...he's "20 miles of bad road" as we used to say...he's worthless beyond belief, and how the hell he got famous is beyond me...
I know 2-year olds that have MORE TALENT in their pinky finger than this "man" has in his whole body, and yet, HE gets all the press.
The nation of NORWAY has BANNED Snoop from their country for TWO YEARS, thanks to some pot possession and trying to bring it into their nation.
(you gotta love those Vikings...lol)
And here's the story (with video)
http://www.thebarrieexaminer.com/2012/07/29/snoop-dogg-banned-from-norway
But that's not all from our favorite weed-loving butthole.
He is changing his NAME...
((...rolls eyes...))
Lord, give me strength.
His NEW name will be Snoop LION...(hear him toke?...lol)
But, don't take my word on it...here's the proof:
http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/music-arts/snoop-dogg-evolves-snoop-lion-claims-bob-marley-reincarnated-video-article-1.1126235
Weedboy is "evolving", and thinks he's the reincarnation of BOB MARLEY...gimme a f$cking break here.
Maybe Snoop should MOVE to the damn Caribbean then, and leave this country FOR GOOD!
I know I'd be willing to hold the door for him on the way out...and let it hit him in the damn ass as well.
Maybe the laws someplace ELSE would prove more effective in locking his doped-up ass the hell up, and remove him from OUR society.
Role model? Not in your wildest dreams.
Family man? Don't make me laugh!
Cultural disgrace? You're getting warmer.
*** And speaking of DOPE...there's THIS:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20120802/LOCAL07/308029934/1002/LOCAL
Jeremiah J. Thompson is the person in question, and stashing drugs in his crib WAS his "bid'ness"...!
The house at 2900 Smith Street on the city's...(...all together, gang...)...SOUTHEAST SIDE was the place to be (for police anyway) when Thompson was busted for dealing and growing..
Found during the "visit" by police were 20 MJ plants,. LSD-laced candy (mints), and a stolen gun (gun control asshats take note...it was NOT purchased at ANY legitimate DEALER).
Thompson was busted after police bought HEROIN from him THREE times (which gave probable cause to go search the premises).
God, I love happy endings, especially when bail is set at $108,250 (why so LOW?).
Geez, maybe Thompson was channeling Bob Marley too....ROFL!

===============
BTW, this piece of crap happens to be WHITE...just so you know that DRUG PROBLEMS down here in the ghettohood come in ALL "flavas"!!!
*** Lastly today, we're still doing well in the 2010 London Olympics...and still TIED with China in the overall tally with 30.
Had some great cycling yesterday with timed trials for both men AND women.
And more rowing, with New Zealand and Britain coming away with gold medals.
Ladies water polo (USA vs Spain) wound up in a TIE (9 all) with Spain scoring the tying goal with 30 seconds to go...pretty impressive.
For some GOOD coverage and pictures, try the official site:

What you have to take away from these games (aside from the TAXES our very OWN IRS will levy against ALL the competitor's that win ANY medal...which is a substantial amount, especially for those who win GOLD..talk about sour grapes here), is that here we have people that are challenged to do more...do better, and not settle for being less than what they were the day before...unlike the butthead drug dealers we mentioned above.
These men and women in the Olympics represent what we all CAN be...what we all COULD strive for...IF we put forth an effort...ANY effort.
Granted, such athletes will make sacrifices, and the costs will compound their challenges, but they realize that to NOT try...NOT strive, and NOT achieve can be far worse than whatever setback they might encounter.
And it's to that spirit, I find myself enjoying the games in London.
Would it be that more of us (here) in the USA could accept the same challenge and be willing to do better...in whatever endeavor we undertake.
It's just a thought.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.
