Frigid Digit Tuesday...
Hey, it's SO cold outside this morning, the democrats have their hands in THEIR OWN POCKETS...
(for a change, or is that chump-change they can believe in?)
Yeah, it's THAT cold outside this morning in the Heartland.
Colder than a witch's tit in a brass brassiere...
The Hoosierland weather says we're only looking at a "high" around TWENTY DEGREES, and we're halfway there at 10 ABOVE right now.
But, factor in the wind chill and it's a "balmy" SEVEN BELOW ZERO...perfect summer weather in SIBERIA...lol.
And to think that this Sunday, the temps will be up where they REALLY belong...around FIFTY DEGREES.
If this isn't pneumonia weather, I don't know what is.
So, in the best spirit of the day, let's all grab ourselves a nice big HOT cup of our favorite morning beverage...got a feeling we're gonna be needing it, and see what's been going on...
*** First out of the ice-pack is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" look at the world.
November 18 -
Today has only one thing going on (aside from another polar vortex), and that it's OCCULT DAY.
Tell you one thing...doesn't take a crystal ball to see that it's frigging COLD out, so I suppose that's a washout.
It's said that today is a "mysterious day, outside the realm of the normal and natural world."
Cripes, that's EVERY damn day in the ghettohood around our "Fortress"...LOL
Who the hell are they kidding?
Guess all the astrologers and alchemists will be having a good old time...(count me out).
Meanwhile, back at the Ouija board...
*** In weather such as this, homeless people have it rougher than many realize, and often, those who are without a home come to this state of their lives through no fault of their own. Some even prefer to be "off the grid", as it were.
But cold is STILL cold, and I cannot imagine sleeping under a bridge in Indiana's 2nd largest city...or anywhere else for that matter under such conditions.
Now, our "king" (Mayor Tom Henry) was shown an eviction notice and he pulled a page from the democrat's playbook.
The "king" stands alone...in the cold.
"That was the first I heard of it", was his answer to seeing the notice.
Really?
REALLY???
Here's the link to the story by Adam Widener (with video):
http://wane.com/2014/11/17/concerns-solutions-voiced-for-homeless-awareness-week/
You (your highness) used to sit on City Council, and you KNEW full well, what the stats were for the homeless and what measures were taken.
(even back then) to get these people off the streets and into shelters.
C'mon now...who's BSing who?
You had to have talked with your fellow council members who had such issues in THEIR districts.
All sounds a bit too "familiar" doesn't it?
Like when our "Prez" was asked about this Jonathan Gruger guy and HE said 'Today was the first I heard about it."
That was last week when he was in Brisbane on another conference.
And that's not the FIRST time he's pulled that card out of HIS ass, either.
He, like many democrats seem to have this convenient "lapse of information" when something pertains to "their watch"...
Now, if this were a republican, you can bet good money this would break immediately and EVERYONE would know about it.
One again, that nasty creature called "double standards:" rears it's ugly head.
Moving on...
*** Let's take a look at all the SHOTS FIRED calls last week in Fort Wayne:

What I find amazing are the SHOOTING calls and they seem to have NO bearing on any of the SHOTS FIRED calls...
And naturally, a majority of these calls come from the SOUTH side of the city.
*** Next up,  an update (I think) on that story about THREE people shot (?) over the weekend.
Here's the story link (as presented)
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20141118/LOCAL/311189858/1002/LOCAL
Now, here we have ONLY TWO people shot, but the time-frame seems similar - early Sunday morning. Very odd, indeed.
And, it's over a girl, and a black male was the shooter (as usual).
Deshawn Vaughn, 22,  as the one resting his "blacktitude"-laden ass in the local jail WITHOUT bail.
He's a graduate from the class of 2011 at Wayne High School and played football there.
Guess he's never gotten over his anger issues after playing sports...but he DOES have two children (who will no doubt suffer from HIS stupidity). So damn typical and no excuse for such behavior.
*** (( Editor's Update - 1200 hrs - Seems the above shooting story was a completely DIFFERENT one than the OTHER one this weekend.
Here's the link to the TRIPLE shooting:))
http://wowo.com/ArticleDisplay/tabid/74/ArticleId/25980/Victims-in-Saturday-Triple-Shooting-Identified.aspx
Still don't know the specifics of the WHYS, the WHERES and the WHAT FORS?, do we?
We might need scorecards to keep all this crap STRAIGHT, hmm?
Would be nice to be better informed...like we USED to be.
*** Next...you ever get that urging to give in a bit to your "dreams"?
Well, I went to the Ford website and basically "built" myself a 2014 Mustang coupe.
That's what it looks like in my dreams
I like poking around just to see what I can dream up, and how cool the graphics are for various cars.
I did this a few years back with the ASTON-MARTIN website...built a cool car, and it ONLY cost a mere $175,000...!
Some dreams cost more than others.
"WTF???"
(Yeah, that's what I said)
At least the Mustang was considerably LESS expensive...and a "bargain" at $24,163 (that's only $318 a month (for too many years...lol).
Even Wifey liked the car's exterior.
Nice and imposing...MY kind if car.
I chose to go with a FEW options...like a handling package (a must for the streets we have to travel), but I cannot stand those damn "Hot Wheels" wheels...ugly as sin. Gimme a set of Cragar mags on some raised letter Goodyear T'/As and I'm good to go.
There is a long list of "standard" equipment, and that's where I get a burr under my saddle.
They put too much CRAP into (and onto) these cars.
Not a bad choice of interiors.
You HAVE to get power windows and door locks...like I'm too damn crippled to slide a button of roll a crank handle. Someone forget how to make and install them?
More like too many people too damn LAZY to do either, and with all these motors running all this sh*t, you KNOW they'll go bad, and then you got NOTHING.
I did opt for a security system and locking lug nuts for those ugly 18 inch wheels and too wide tires with less rubber on them than I have on the Firebird.
Still around, reliable, and also imposing.
So, when all is said and done, I'm looking at a dream car in the range of $24K with stuff I don't want on it, as compared to a car I STILL have that I got for $11.4 K back in 1983, outfitted the way I WANTED it...basically "basic".
I figured if I want a damn entertainment system, I have one AT HOME.
Still, it is nice to dream, because whatever the sticker price says, the "actual" price for a dream remains the same...FREE.
*** Last back to the garage...it's astounding how things INCREASE in price so rapidly in today;'s world, and yet DEPRECIATE as quickly, it not more so.
We read about Japan now entering a recession, and seen CHINA, that manufacturing juggernaut, is SLOWING it's own economic progress. Europe hasn't really gotten off the launch pad, so that leaves Britain and the USA as the TWO bastions of some sort of economic "stability", but this is predicated upon the GLOBAL markets.
They tank, we suffer...simple as that.
The FED is thinking of raising interest rates to help the global economy and aid Japan and China in stopping their own decline.
We have constructed such an intricate and tangled web of economics both here and around the world, it's little wonder that something somewhere does NOT affect everyone else...because it does.
When you take something simple and grow it into something SO complex, you have to expect such things.
Same can be said of life.
Life is often quite complicated, but we're resilient creatures and can easily adapt when needed.
It's when we go out of our way to make life even MORE screwed up than it is which proves harmful to ourselves and to others.
I would think that to have as simple a life is possible would be a lot better to handle than all the complexities.
I like to deal with problems the way I deal with people...one at a time.
You can't take on everything at once...that dog ain't gonna hunt.
Like I said last week...pick your "battles", and strive for victory, however small it may seem.
All the small victories add up and will win any war.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Ditching an Aston-Martin for a Mustang? What would James Bond say? ;)

Actually, if memory serves, 007 drove a Mustang Mach 1 in DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER, so I think he might be okay with it.

John D.:
Your memory continues to serve you WELL, Padawan...lol.
Bond DID drive a mach 1 in DAF (and on TWO wheels to boot)

So, yeah, I think 007 wouldn't think me TOO out-of-line...(and cost-effective).

After all, I don't have the resources of MI6 (and the Crown) behind me, hmm?

Both vehicles look nicely "aggressive".

Hey, thanks for stopping over to comment today.

Stay safe (and WARM) out there.

It's freezing cold...brrr...delightful...brr...pretty. I like cars, all of them. I only have a budget for a Matchbox type right now. I like your wheels. Very Knightrider.

Great post as usual. Keep up the humor. I get a giggle every day from something in here...or many things! LOL

I had a feeling you're "right at home" in weather like this...as long as it's in WYOMING...lol.
A little early and a little severe for Indiana (and me), though.

Yeah, the matchbox ones are EASY to get...and priced a LOT better!

The old Firebird is like a Timex...it just keeps on ticking.
(I DO like that Mustang, however, just don't tell my car that)

Glad you find some smiles here...we try our best.
(that's me, myself and I...all 3 of us...LOL)

Thanks for rolling up today and commenting.

Stay safe & warm down there, dear.

"It's said that today is a "mysterious day, outside the realm of the normal and natural world." " What, Adam Warlock's Birthday? So is tomorrow "Starlin's Lame Plot Twists Day"?, lol.

You would think there wouldn't be a Dem in the universe dumb enough to use that "first I heard it" line right now... The level of stupidity in this world is incredible.

My dream car is unattainable at any price- a "Tahoe Turquoise" '67 Chevelle like my bro-in-law had back in the day... might be nice to have the big-block rather than the 327 in it, though.

LMAO...dunno about Adam Warlock (or Starlin), but I DID hear tell that THANOS is a little miffed at getting "slighted"...

I figured you like that parallel...I know I sure as hell did.

Hey, you could probably get that chevelle for a cool $75K...just check out the Barrett-Jackson auctions when they come on the TV.

My (older) dream car is a 1969 Mustang Shelby GT-500, and I've only seen ONE up close and personal...they didn't make that many.
Check THIS baby out:
