Humpday Happenings...
Welcome to a very FROSTY Wednesday, and if you think that we're out of the woods with such conditions...wait until tomorrow, kids.
Our Hoosierland weather will see us with a high today of only around TWELVE (that's 12) DEGREES, with mostly cloudy skies after some AM sunshine (spotty as it will be) and perhaps a snow shower or two.
Seems the Midwest will have COLDER than normal temps for the remainder of winter.
Well, that's sure to help with melting snow and ice...NOT.
But it does beat having to not see your family car until April thanks to SEVEN feet of snow on the ground, hmm?
So, enjoy those sub-zero morning temps (from INSIDE) as we partake in a nice hot cup of midweek fortitude and look to this day and all it has to offer.
*** First out of Shackelton's duffle bag is our WHO SAID THAT? quote of the week:
"Many human beings say that they enjoy the winter, but what they really enjoy is feeling proof against it."
Now this seems right in step with our weather around here, so WHO said this anyway?
The answer at the top of tomorrow's post.
Meanwhile, back at the British Civil Service...
*** It's also time to see "What the hell happens today, Bob?"
February 18 -
---Today is ASH WEDNESDAY, and here's the WIKI on it, 'cause I don't wanna "splain" it:
This comes on the heels of yesterday's "Fat Tuesday", and heralds the beginning of LENT.
(BTW, I gave up Lent for Lent AGES ago...it simplifies things, plus I'm not Catholic)
Guess that's something to get charged up over...((groan))
The beat of a different drum.
So go hug the Energizer Bunny.
*** Next up, I had to "rescue" Wifey from our driveway this morning.
As she was pulling out, rather then let the CAR roll straight back (and into the street, as we always do), she turned the wheel and cut an angle across some ice at the end of the driveway.
Well, all THAT did was spin the tire.
Coming home when it's clear out.
So, I had to leave the garage, chase her out of the car, get in and "do my thing", which consists of (after straightening the wheel out) rocking the car forward and back, using BOTH gas and brake pedals (in Philly you can't graduate high school unless you can perform this function).
Within a minute, the car was on the street, allowing Wifey to get to school...problem solved.
I told her "It's easy when you know what you're doing."
About an hour after she left, I saw that she forgot her tote-bag with her lunch (and scarf) in it.
It does pay to pay attention (to the small things).
*** Next, proof that some Fort Wayne drivers have NO idea on how to properly PARALLEL PARK.
Here's the story link:
This began as an attempted traffic stop, became a pursuit, and ended up in a crash into a porch of a house located at 3314 Winter St.
(and yes, that's in the ghettohood)
The PORCH is NOT the GARAGE, dumbass!
FWPD arrested the man after he bailed from the Grand Cherokee, and was arrested after he was found hiding on a porch along Reed St. He was taken to hospital for a injured ankle.
Have to say that HIS park job looks a LOT like other ones I see in OUR neck of the woods...just not AS "abrupt".
I know I'm seeing FWPD cars in the area the past few days...could be a good sign IF it continues.
*** Next, Obummer is whining about how a FEDERAL JUDGE is going against "the flow", and that means the AGENDA of this administration when it comes to AMNESTY.
ROFLMAO...(spoiled brat)
Here's the story link:
All I can say is..."I LOVE IT".
And, in a related story about YOUR tax dollars "at work", there's this gem:
Imagine that...illegals being ELIGIBLE for up to $24K (of your money)...
Add THAT to the free IDs, Drivers Licenses, and other "perks" this president is handing out on YOUR dime.
"Amnesty Rewards" is what one Texas politician is calling them...yeah, reward illegal activities.
That's what THIS president ios too keen on doing.
Punish those following the law,, and reward those skirting or breaking it...what an empty suit we have running our nation.
(and too often running his pie-hole)
The (in)Justice Department is filing an appeal to the judge's decision regarding amnesty, and I hope Holder gets called out for that as well.
Republicans are attempting to legislate a DEFUNDING proposition for DHS, because THEY are the ones who "control" the amnesty and deportation aspects of immigration.
Expect lawsuits from numerous states i=on this issue against the federal government...and get the popcorn. This should be fun to watch.
*** Next up...been sitting on this for a few days, until all the crap died down.
SO, there he was, having his meal...
Prepare yourselves for some honest-to-God cuteness...
Mr.Wrinkles stopped by on Valentine's Day, and when I had set the camera down on the ground, he decided to walk over to it.
Can I comez over to see whatz you got?
Less than a second after the picture was snapped, he came over to my feet and sat up.
I'm just wondering WHO has WHO trained?
(Six of one, half a dozen of another would be my guess)
*** Last back to the ice-pack...This president (and his many minions) have been doing an exemplary job of turning our proud nation into one, huge, honking clusterf$ck.
In that, he does well.
"Islamic Terrorists - Say it...SAYYY ITTT!!!"
But when his people state (repeatedly) that when it comes to ISLAMIC TERRORISTS (a phrase none of them can bring themselves to speak for some odd reason), the claim from Marie Harf - State Dept - is that (you best be sitting down for this one)...they are POOR...and need JOBS.
(you cannot make this shit up)
This is one of those "WTF???" moments...and it's a pretty BIG one at that.
Let's see...these terrorists ALREADY have a "job"...destroy Western civilization through Islamic rule and Jihad.
Does ANYONE in their RIGHT mind believe for a moment that having terrorists pick fruit for $10 an hour will cause them ALL to suddenly drop their weapons and become peaceful people???
This is wrong on SO many levels, and I cannot believe ANYONE in this administration could be SO damn stupid as to even hint at anything this ridiculous.
I dunno...worked damn well in TWO World Wars.
It's dumbassery such as this that makes any SANE person question the reasoning behind those in political power.
Actually, it makes me question THEIR sanity.
You simply cannot REASON with the unreasonable...
But, as with ANY enemy of this country (or her allies), you CAN break their will, and that will produce results favorable for us and bad for them..
Trying to meet these terrorists half-way is NOT an option - killing them all certainly IS.
And, it's high time this president figured that out, instead of trying to cut down the number of "mulligans" at the links.
The sheer IGNORANCE of this administration against radical ideologies is appalling, and in earlier times, would be called treasonous against this nation.
The SILENCE on these issues from our president is DEAFENING.
And his "cavalier" attitude with our Constitution is reprehensible.
Yet the tunnel and the light at the end of it is not as far off as it used to be.
It is achievable, if all of us stay the course, and remain vigilant.
We need to keep speaking out against those who would turn this country into some 3rd world castoff.
And we need to keep questioning anything that seem out of place, for as sure as the sun comes up...it probably IS.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

First of all, you have some very fat squirrels I must say. Second..you be nice to that nice wifey of yours. LOL. Sometimes they just want you to feel needed. Maybe she did all that on purpose. :)

Momma Fargo:
They're not fat...just well-fed...LOL.

Didn't mind getting the car out.
(I like to keep in practice).
But she did have a lack of focus this morning.

Believe me, I DO feel NEEDED...every day...too often...ROFL.

"on purpose"???
God, let's hope not.

Thanks for rolling up today and commenting.

You stay safe and warm down there, dear.

"It's easy when you know what you're doing."

I've tried to explain that to my oldest daughter, but she swears up, down and sideways that she knows what she's doing. This leads to the inevitable "facepalm."

And speaking of people who don't know what they're doing: Agree 100% on Marie Harf's moronic* suggestion for dealing with terrorists.

*Okay, I may have to apologize to morons for the above comparison. ;)

LOL...glad to know I have another advocate out the doing the "teaching by EXAMPLE" gig!
(and some times, I don't know what hurts worse...my face OR my palm)

Yeah, we have to be careful whenever we delineate between REGULAR morons and the OTHER ones coming out of the FEDS in D.C.
(whole other species, apparently).

Hey, thanks for stopping by to comment today.

Stay safe and keep WARM out there.

Im a very strong Catholic, gave up chicken for Lent this year. As far as shootings go, don't know the last time there was one here on the southwest side! at least at the corner of Scott and Illinois Road!

I used to date a catholic girl in high school (a LONG time ago)...I used to give something up for Lent, too.
(funny thing you do when you're in love...lol)

The SW has been pretty quiet...just a few arrests.
Be thankful it's NOT like over HERE on the SE side, "neighbor".

Thanks much for stopping by to comment today.

Stay safe out there.
