Tuesday Tidbits...
It's going to feel a LOT like Springtime today...no doubt about that. Overnight temps did not even get down into the 30s. I know we're already seeing some flowering plants trying to poke through last year's dead leaves in parts of the garden.
Our Hoosierland weather for today will be even warmer than yesterday with expected highs into the mid-to-upper SIXTIES! That's right, we're going to be seeing the "satin-shorts" brigade out and about (at least down where we live...lol).
Partly cloudy skies will follow us around with the chance of some rain late tonight. Expect some mild breezes.
Now, with that taken care of, let's get ourselves a nice cup or glass of your favorite morning beverage as we see what has been going on elsewhere...
*** First out of the mulch pile is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
March 8 -
---Today is NATIONAL PEANUT CLUSTER DAY
(I've got squirrels that like ANY cluster of peanuts)
---It's also NATIONAL PROOFREADING DAY
(well, here's hoping the local media sources take THIS one to heart...lol)
---And, it's NATIONAL PANCAKE DAY (IHOP)
(might have to indulge myself this morning for breakfast)
Nothing like a short-stack to get the day rolling, hmm?
---t's also BE NASTY DAY
(gee, all our "locals" seem to perform THAT deal ALL the time around here)
*** Next up, it is Tuesday, and that means time to show you ALL the FWPD calls that went out for the wonderfully moronic jerks in our city that can't seem to stop playing with (illegal) firearms (or robbing people while armed).

And the best part - NO DAMN FIREWORKS ALL WEEK! A-Frigging-Mazing!
*** Next, you could certainly tell that the weather was nice, as the boomcar idiots crawled out from under their rocks and proceeded to allow us the displeasure of hearing their (c)rap music...blocks away.
Try THIS in OUR neighborhood.
(you'll get shot)
This is in addition to all the OTHER idiots that have muffler issues (some Latinos love those "performance" mufflers that sound like you have no muffler at all).
Now, this city STILL has a noise ordinance, but the FWPD have placed such a quality-of-life issue SO far down their priority list that it barely exists, except on paper.
Broken Window Theory be damned, I suppose?
I think all the LOUD MUSIC did this.
And yet, THIS has become acceptable - rude, insensitive and disrespectful, behavior, especially by certain ethnicities all for the sake of allowing "cultural diversity".
Bullshit! Breaking the law still applies to EVERYONE.
Well, THAT explains their aberrant behavior.
All that's needed is someone with the balls to DO something about it, and by the looks of the FWPD top brass, that's not going to occur any time soon. But, I'll bet the MAYOR'S neighborhood isn't exposed to this acoustic terrorism every day.
*** Next up, I will never live long enough to figure out HOW some people can exist the way they do.
And this isn't JUST about the way they can't figure out HOW to prioritize anything in their government-sponsored lives...it's about how they can't even manage the simplest of tasks relevant to cribbing in someplace OTHER than a HUD or Section-8 managed living complex.
Maybe ANOTHER bin? (or less trash)
Take our trash and recycle programs. Both a good way to keep a neighborhood from looking (more) like the ghetto it's trying to become, and you'd figure that people could take care of something SO basic.
(put the trash IN the can, put the can OUT on the proper day, bring the can BACK after it's empty - pretty damn EASY).
But, some people think they still live in those complexes and believe that trash will take itself out, as well as whatever they put in  whatever "container" they use will be picked up.
Doesn't work that way. Cardboard boxes get wet and fall apart (trash all over), and loose items or overfilled bins allow critters to tear into it, again with trash all over.
A "quality-of-life" issue?
Yet, these people think that's NORMAL...WRONG!
The baby-mama across the street (with 4 kids in her charge, no less) puts her overfilled bin out every week, along with other cardboard boxes (they always take out MORE trash they they take in...like they "manufacture" the trash INSIDE the house out of thin air).
That amazes me, especially when they move into the houses with the bare minimums amount of "belongings".
Anyway, this past week, the cardboard boxes did NOT get picked up , and the trash looked nasty, spread about the way it was, so I sent some emails around and lo, and behold, the same day, Code Enforcement came out and the baby-mama was out there cleaning the mess the hell up .
Wow, lower primates CAN be taught!
None of the kids were there to help, and they had several days since trash pickup to get their "trash" together. The bin stays outside until it's time to fill it back up, and that means a lot of trash  has to be INSIDE the "crib".
We keep our bins INSIDE the garage - easy to manage, and they don't "walk away" from our property, if you get my drift. The bins are to be taken FROM the curb or alley area and stowed near the house until next pickup day (per Solid Waste department flyers).
Lesson learned?
I'd wager not. I know the way these people shake, and it's NOT to make the area better for anyone else.
But, at least they know that "someone" is paying attention to their ghettoesque behavior and will do something about it. The "work" never stops down here for concerned citizens.
*** Next, the shopping center known at The Marketplace at Canterbury is UP FOR SALE.
(uh oh, that can't be good...remember what happened when Southtoiwn Mall was sold?)
Here's the story link:
http://wane.com/2016/03/07/the-marketplace-of-canterbury-up-for-sale/
Now, this IS the location up on St. Joe Center Rd.where Piere's is located, and we ALL know the checkered history of THAT establishment (and the shootings there), right?
The owner of Dark Horse Tattoo (there) has said that: "Everything is kind of falling in. The parking lots are terrible and nothing gets fixed around here."
He plans to move to another location when his lease runs out, citing the shootings and crime that have his staff scared.
Yep, kinda sounds JUST like Southtown when it started it's decline.
I said that crime WAS spreading, mainly because not much is left DOWN HERE as far as real retail, so the perps HAVE to go elsewhere for their pursuit of criminal activity.
The property is going to auction, because the former owner passed away, and his estate doesn't have the business savvy needed to keep managing the property as it used to be managed.
This is the largest single auction in recent Fort Wayne history.
May they fare better than we did down here with Southtown Mall (and all the nearby businesses that left the area).
*** Next, a SE side apartment is raided and nets TWO losers.
Here's the story link:
http://wane.com/2016/03/08/two-arrested-in-raid-at-known-overdose-spot/
A house in the 500 block of McKinnie was the target for the raid, where a fatal overdose happened back in January.
Police found 17 grams of "horse" there, along with over $3000 bucks.
Nothing was said whether or not weapons were found at the address.
Edward Goings                    Chris McCue
Those arrested were David Edward Goings, 34, and Chris McCue, 42.
The raid was part of an effort to reduce heroin sales and use (try stopping the curbside sales in vehicles, people. THAT might help).
And, while we're at it, here's a picture of the shooter at Las Lomas...Eduardo Lopez, age 22. - another loser.
No relation to Jennifer.
(at least the K-9 unit had fun biting him - hope the dog doesn't get sick)
Hey, let's see if he's here LEGALLY while we're at it, hmm?
*** Last back to the barn...I don't know about you, but I'm getting damn sick and tired of hearing that POVERTY is driving criminal behavior.
Look at what's being taken from stores or people...little to do with getting by in life. it's more about "leveling the playing field" by taking from others what these perps don't have, as some form of reparations for their race or their poverty, which is due to their own lack of ability to step up and be a person.
Ghetto-Welfare Creed - sounds about right.
It's much easier to take than to earn...we're seeing that all over the societal spectrum, aren't we?
And we've allowed those who CAN to NOT earn their own way. In fact, we've pretty much REWARDED that kind of behavior, and it's getting to be a costly venture.
America can boast that it has the RICHEST POOR PEOPLE on the entire planet.
This manner of living for those people is NOT what's meant by EQUALITY, but they think it is.
I wish to God that these people would come to learn that we ALL have the same opportunities, but never the SAME results, for results are based on personal diligence, performance, and behaviors, based on the choices made.
We've taken the word POOR and used it as a crutch for the lazy, the mediocre, and the lack-luster people who are set on letting others take them through life. The rest of us give them damn near everything (through government programs), and that does nothing to get these people off of their co-dependent behavior WITH the government.
It's like a bad relationship that is self-sustaining.
This is one case where I cannot be  part and parcel to any of it. I've seen what it's not accomplishing, and what it's doing to the rest of our society.
I just wish those who created these grandiose schemes to artificially elevate others to that of working people with good values could see the obvious.
Guess those (government-bought) rose-colored glasses tend to not allow that to happen.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Okay, I laughed out loud at the "like they manufacture the trash INSIDE the house out of thin air" line. I know a few people like that around here.

I actually was going to have to google "horse" to see what that was, until you mentioned it. And yeah... those two clowns definitely look like horse users/manufacturers. Yikes.

Yeah..see, they're ALL over the place. You don't have to live in a CERTAIN city to be that way.
(love to see the cartoons you could come up with on this...lol)

ROFL...they've "ridden that horse" a lot, by the looks of them.

They say (whoever "they" are) that it takes all kinds to make up the world, but do we really NEED that many?
I could personally do without several varieties, and still get along well enough, right?

Thanks for dropping by today to comm, ent.

Stay safe (and classy) out there, guys.

Never understood the whole boom-car thing. I like to crank the tunes once in a while, but there's a point where you're damaging your hearing. Especially with the bass turned up so high. You'd think those clowns would go deaf after a fashion.

Bob G. said...

John D.:
You and I define "turning up the tunes" a WHOLE LOT differently than those that do the same thing THESE days.
We also liked to keep our speakers from BLOWING out.

And yes, such high decibel levels for ANY sustained period WILL result in permanent damage and hearing loss.
Maybe that's WHY they KEEP turning it UP...lol.
That explains why they SHOUT into their cell phones on a street or in the malls, too.

Military personnel who are near aircraft ALWAYS wear hearing protection.
And we wear hearing protection at the gun-ranges...and when using certain lawn gear (gas trimmers, leaf blowers, etc).
Good enough for THEM is good enough for US< hmm?
They don't call them acoustic terrorists for no reason, right?

Thanks much for stopping by to comment today.

Roll safe out there.

Oh, we forgot about the pancake thing... went to Casas instead. No regrets!

Be Nasty Day- Councilman Ensley sure nailed that one, eh?

That "I'm not rude" thing reminds me of a friend's t-shirt: "National Sarcasm Association- like we need your support".

I'M not bidding on Canterbury- just level it and let the Y build there.

Poverty drives criminal behavior? Here I always thought it was laziness and lack of respect for anyone, including oneself. Guess I should have paid more attention in sociology.

Chris:
--Ah, I remember when "we" used to have a Casa's down here (before that also closed).
Great food.
--Yeah, talk about your "dust-ups"!
--You and I need to have some T-shirts made up...LOL.
--Let's hope this doesn't start the slide of THAT part of the city. Lord knows we've enough "blight" in too many places already.
--Yeah, that's ALL the libtards talk about when it comes to crime: the "poverty".
Curiously enough, those people will always steal stuff they WANT, and not what they NEED.
Funny how that works, isn't it?

Hey, thanks for stopping on by to comment.

Stay safe and love this nice weather up there, brother.
