Tuesday Tidbits...
Okay, so it's not raining...or snowing.
That means today's already a "winner".
But, fortunately, it won't be AS cool as it was yesterday.
Today looks to be a rather nice Spring day - good day to poke about the garden, or (in our case) have a refrigerator delivered.
Our Hoosierland weather will see us with a rather brisk morning, but mostly SUNNY skies, much lighter breezes, and temps reaching up to around 53 degrees. I think we can call this one a keeper.
Now, what say we take a moment or two to get our morning drinks poured and parked nearby as we see what has been going on elsewhere...
*** First out of the delivery truck is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
March 29 -
---Today is NATIONAL LEMON CHIFFON CAKE DAY
(Remember, ANY day with cake is a day worth enjoying...lol)
---And, it's NATIONAL MOM AND POP BUSINESS OWNER'S DAY
(I miss the days when we had a LOT more of those places around)
*** Next up, as has become the regular fare for a Tuesday, it's time once again to show ALL the shots fired and armed robbery calls that the media doesn't take the time to check out.

(always HAS to be ONE idiot)
Amazing that there were NO (reported) armed robberies this week. I think THAT is a first.
(or the perps are getting too lazy to carry a gun inside a store and are just TAKING stuff - there was a LOT of THEFT calls going out).
*** Next up, some more vandalism up on the city's north AND south sides.
Here's the story:
http://wane.com/2016/03/28/police-21-vehicles-vandalized-by-a-bb-gun/
Wow...15 locations up NORTH and 6 locations down SOUTH. Vehicles being vandalized.
THAT'S gonna cost a few bucks.
People where we live tend to just STEAL vehicles rather than vandalize them.
Now, it seems to me there was something similar that went down either last year or the year before.
I DO know that back on 17 February, we had vehicles vandalized by pellet or BB guns along North Clinton (west of St. Joe Center Rd) near Redbud Drive.
We did have some rock-tossing morons back on 25 June 2014, too.
No, I'm not including the rolling shootouts we have down HERE, either.
(That's collateral damage, plus, those rounds are MUCH larger than BBs)
*** Next, after three whole years of denial (which is STILL not just a river in Egypt), I hear the Indiana BMV has decided to once again allow VANITY PLATES on vehicles.
(oh, how the ethnics are gonna love this).
Here's the story link:
http://wane.com/2016/03/28/bmv-bringing-back-personalized-license-plates/
If you recall, the "pause" on the issuance of such plates was over a lawsuit filed by a police officer who wanted the (personal) plate "OINK" and beat the BMV in court.
I will grant you that SOME people need a "specialized" plate, to let you know they're a drunk...or a dumbass...or moron...or idiot. Wonder when they start issuing THOSE?
*** Next, yes, today we get a new fridge. Got the confirmation call yesterday and by 2PM, things should be a whole lot better in our kitchen (and a lot less NOISY).
Today's the day.
Got to stow the foods before delivery gets here, and that will be fun. I've got TWO of those 20 gallon bins and roughly about 16-17 cubic ft of food and drink...wonder how the math works on THAT conversion?
I gathered up ALL those (blue) ice-packs we had, and froze those to keep everything cold until the swap-out is made.
And, I plan to keep our ice trays, the egg bin and the ice cube bin (they don't include such things nowadays unless you blow a couple GRAND for a top-of-the-tine fridge, which we don't really need, nor have space for. It's called being practical AND prepared.  Here's hoping it goes without a hitch.
We shall see, won't we?
*** Next, while it's WAY too early for any "silly season" in sports, it's never too early to pull something akin in the FWCS. Here's the link to the story:
http://news-sentinel.com/news/local/Promotions-will-bring-principal-changes-at-several-FWCS-schools
Moving up, or moving over...it's what they do here.
Other topics were recognition at various schools and students as well as approval for repairs at several schools with funding coming from the FWCS coffers. Included are swapping out obsolete T-12 fluorescent fixtures for T-8 ones and LED lighting (hope that "blue" lighting doesn't start affecting the kids. I'm sure SOMEONE will be doing a costly study which (hopefully) will shed some "light" (no pun intended) on the problems associated with prolonged exposure to that frequency of light, as I have mentioned here not that long ago.
*** Last back to the data files...all of us have plenty of things in life to keep us occupied, whether it's the job, or vocations, hobbies, or sundry things around our homes.
Prioritize your priorities FIRST.
And, as I have stated often enough, being able to prioritize them makes everything move a lot smoother.
Part of life is being able to "get one's shit together" and hopefully, in a timely manner.
Nothing worse than waiting until the LAST MINUTE (both figuratively as well as literally) to TRY and get done what should have been accomplished days (or hours) before, right?
I really hate to be late for anything...that's just me.
I was taught to be punctual, and I was never late for school or the job (unless it was really bad weather), and never drew a reprimand under those conditions.
If there is ONE thing I would not mind being late for...it would be my own funeral (how macabre). And, I only get ONE shot at that, as do we all, right?
But again, it all comes down to doing what needs to be done at the proper time for the right reason.
These days, distractions keep a lot of folks from stuff like priorities, or (worse yet) supplants one set of priorities for another, which usually has nothing to do with the first set anyway.
That doesn't get much done, and certainly not in a timely fashion.
People need to decide WHAT is important in their lives, and that entails understanding the real NEEDS of oneself, or family, or household.
After you get THAT gear stowed away, THEN you can take it a bit easier and work on prioritizing those needs.
Everything has it's own place in line, as it were.
And no "cutting" to the front of that line to satisfy one's desires (while pushing needs aside)...that's cheating,
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

But it's COLD outside. Brrr.. I had frost this morning. I think someone needs to shake the ground hog. Those side windows are very expensive. Damn that would piss me off. Too many fireworks going off in your town...aka. shots fired. Are they hitting anything?

With you coming from WYOMING, I thought you'd think it was WARM outside this morning...LOL!
Not cold (to me), but it IS brisk!

Yeah, those vandals need to be used for BB hun TARGET PRACTICE (I volunteer my services as soon as my replacement S&W M&P BB pistol arrives. Not before...heh).

As to the shots fired...no reports of houses car, kids, or small pets git...except for the SHOOTING.
Eventually, these morons DO hit something (mostly their OWN).

WHatta world, hmm?

Thanks for rolling up to comment today.

Stay safe down there, Kiddo!
(and you gotta come up for coffee and see the new fridge.)

On the bright side, they can't bust you for the vandalism because your gun's down...

I think your plate idea is an excellent one... Might have to do something with the concept in the future...

I think you have caught what my problem with today was. "Part of life is being able to "get one's shit together" "... only when I first read it, I thought it said "get ONE shit together", and that itself was a job I was woefully unprepared for.

Chris:
--Oh, I have a few OTHERS as "backup".
(always prepared here.)
---Yeah, I think that's an idea that has been LONG overdue (because of the innate ability of people to choose stupid over reason).
---Well that can often depend on how well you and your ALIMENTARY tract get along...LOL.
When you get the "Trotskys" though, ALL other priorities go down the crapper...LOL.

Thanks for stopping by today and commenting.
Much appreciated.

Stay safe up there, brother.
