Tuesday Tidbits...

If THIS weather was representative of summer, I could deal with that a lot better than all the heat and humidity.
Yesterday was not bad at all, and today won't be far removed from being similar in nature.
Our Hoosierland weather for today will have us with mostly sunny skies, temps reaching into the low 80s (but low humidity, so it won't feel any warmer), and mild breezes. But rain is coming, rest assured.
Now, let's get ourselves a nice morning drink to kick the day off, as we see what's been going on elsewhere...

Well, well...THIS place sure looks familiar (when it comes to shootings), doesn't it?
The Sports and Spirits Bar, located at 1723 E. Wayne St was the place NOT to be this morning around 0225 hrs.
Police say FIVE people were shot, with THREE dead, and two others taken to hospital.

Okay, so, if the math is right, we should be at THIRTY FOUR HOMICIDES for the year (so far). Surpassed my prediction of 30 for 2016.
You know, sometimes, you just have to CLOSE a place like this one down...period.
Like to see that happen.
Gee, it was reported that it WOULD be closing (my archive post 6 August 2015).
They obviously allowed it to remain open, probably with a different "owner".

Just tear the damn place down.

Let's take a tour down "memory lane" and see the history of recent years at this bar, shall we?
--December 16, 2014 - there was an armed robbery there.
--August 15, 2014 - the place was raided by damn near every law-enforcement agency around.
--December 26, 2013 - a person was named in a shooting there.
--November 30, 2011 - excise police raid the place.
--October 12, 2011 - shooting that leaves one critical.
--July 13, 2010 - Joseph Golden shot at the bar - serious condition

Yeah, that piece of shit that killed family members has also been charged with the death of an unborn infant (that was not his), and possibly precipitated the conflict at the house at 3006 Holton Ave. Love the lies he told police, too...typical.
Savage beast needs to be put down...like a rabid animal.

Christopher Figgs (another savage) was apprehended (by the U.S. Marshal's Service) and will be extradited back to Fort Wayne in connection with the shooting death of Edward Kiel back in early August this year in the 3400 block of McKinnie St.

Glad we got this killer off the streets at last.
Now, as long as the prosecutor's office doesn't drop the ball or plea deal his ass to a lower sentencing, we can KEEP him off the streets, right?
*** Next up, and quickly moving away from the criminal element...TODAY is the day that the DVD of Captain America - Civil War goes on sale all over the place.

Target has it for $15, but the 3D blu-ray digital whatever copy goes for about $20.
Walmart has it as well, as does damn near any place that sells DVDs. Even Walgreens.
A good flick to add to your "library" as part of the ongoing saga in the Marvel Cinematic Universe...says me.

What can we say? He really liked the cooler temps, and didn't seem to meander all over as much.
I would prefer he stays close by our home.

I wouldn't want him to be the target of some kids with rocks, or BB guns...and certainly don't want him to wind up under the tires of someone speeding along our streets, not paying attention.
*** Last back to the garden...it's becoming obvious that the age of settling arguments or whatever other dispute you have with another person might be pretty much over.

The days of a bloody nose, a few bruises, and a black eye would appear to have passed.
That's not saying much when it comes to the human species evolving, is it?
No one wants to attempt to TALK things out. Better to let some illegally-obtained firearm "speak" for you. That's so much easier, right?

More a hindrance than a help?

But then, you have to realize the nature of those wielding such devices...low-information people.
They're the ones who chronically vote democrat, thereby continuing the agenda of the libtards who never really help those in need OUT of their situation. I can easily see why the anger foments over the decades, and blame is misdirected to those who had nothing to do with the situation.
When the process of true interaction between people ceases, the ability to engage in meaningful (and much less violent) social intercourse also ceases. We could blame technology for part of this, but it's the constant diversion that keep the focus away from who are becoming as a people and nation.
Therein lies the concern...reclaiming the ability to have a dialogue.

We see the evidence of the lack of it in most all of our social media..."trolls under the bridge" as it were. And we've allowed too many damn bridges to be built.
This country really needs to work on that, and maybe schools would be wise to start teaching civil behavior traits in early education...the way they used to.
At this point, it certainly won't hurt anyone one...damn...bit.
