Tuesday Tidbits...
Well, I think we managed to not have any rain over the past 24 hours. And if you prefer your fall weather on the warmer side, today might be just up your alley. It may feel more like summer out there over the next few days.
Our Hoosierland weather for today finds us with mostly sunny skies (after some more of that early morning fog that I'm not seeing anywhere near us) and temps rising to around 75 degrees (yes, it IS October).
And, I forgot to mention a Happy (first day of) Rosh Hashanah yesterday...had way too many observances to post...my bad.
Yes, even I slip up once in a while.
So, go grab yourselves a cup or glass of your favorite morning drink and we'll set about seeing what else has been going on, okay?
*** First out of the toybox is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
OCTOBER 4 - (really October 3rd)
---Okay, I screwed up AGAIN...coulda sworn I put the 3rd down yesterday...instead posted the 4th, so we'll tag today as the 3rd and be done with this clusterf*ck.
---It's NATIONAL TECHIES DAY
(could used them yesterday to fix what I messed up, that's for sure)
---It's also NATIONAL BOYFRIEND DAY
(I'm gonna PASS on this, for the obvious reasons of heterosexuality)
---And, it's NATIONAL CHILD HEALTH DAY
(remember that health applies to the MIND as well as the body here)
Guess that means TODAY is taco day...we can do that again.
*** Next up, and finally on track, since it's TUESDAY, let's see all the police calls that the media never tells us about.
Don't mess with CHUCK!

=============================================================
And can you BELIEVE it? There were NO fireworks calls last week.
That's just A-f*cking-mazing, ain't it?
*** Next up, what did I tell you about the "natives getting restless" yesterday?
Looks like they're as predictable as ever, because we had another shooting, and on the southWEST side (where the crime is on the rise). Here's the story so far:
http://wane.com/2016/10/04/disturbance-leads-to-overnight-shooting/
This is the most common occurrence I've noticed on the FWPD blotter...DISTURBANCES.
There are literally DOZENS of those (signal 43) every week.
And many times, they escalate into gunplay...like this one.
The shooting took place in the 2700 block of Fox Ave  just after midnight.
This is between Broadway and Fairfield.
Police found a man in the street suffering from gunshot wounds. Neighbors reported hearing multiple shots.
The male victim was transported to hospital in serious condition, but was downgraded to critical (could this be number 38?). A house in the 2600 block was also included in the investigation.
Neighbors also told police they saw two or three males running from the area.
*** Next, and if that isn't enough, how about TWO pizza shop robberies in TWO days?
Here's that story:
http://wane.com/2016/10/04/second-pizza-place-robbery-in-2-days/
This took place at the Papa John's pizza shop located at 6233 Bluffton Rd around 0130 hrs this morning.
The robber wore a mask and was totally covered, making an ID difficult (seems to be a trend now).
He made off with an undisclosed amount of money (what? no pizzas???)
We seem to go through these cycles late in the year. Remember the Tasty Pizza shop along Calhoun that was robbed (back in 2007) and one employee was killed (because he was told NOT to bring his pistol to work)? Many people forget such things in today's world. I don't.
(I just forget what day to post things once in a while...lol)
*** Next up, more of  "The Hobo Chronicles"...
Our fuzzy buddy was AWOL when I put the food dish out early yesterday, but within a half hour, decided to show up for eats.
He had to busy himself around the area yesterday, too, but always seemed to come back whenever I went out with some food. He almost ran and jumped on my back yesterday, but decided to just pull up alongside and rub against me. Wifey even said that he looked like he was going to do it.
He has come up with a novel trick - making his head disappear...LOL.
Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot-???
Nah, he just turned his head around as I was taking the picture, but you gotta admit, with Halloween coming up, it's right in the ballpark...heh. Washington Irving would approve.
"And YOU amuse me JUST as much."
He is always a source of amusement and craves attention (as well as an empty lap to park).
*** Next, our old cat, Rassie is another story. I don't know if he will last the year (but I could be wrong).
He's my number one buddy.
He's losing weight, doesn't eat hardly anything, and just sleeps all the time. A visit to the vet looks to be in the immediate future. Sure, he's 20 years old, and that's a damn long time for ANY cat (or dog for that matter), so we must have been doing something right.. And, he's outlasted his sister by three years...maybe he wants to be with her again.
*** Last back to the cupboards...it's hard to say goodbye to a family pet.
Even when you know it's looming ahead.
And Lord knows I've said my share of goodbyes over the years.
But, when you have a pet for about a THIRD of your life, it takes on a new meaning.
A twenty year old child is hopefully in college (or gainfully employed), so the relation to having a pet for the same amount of time comes to also mean something (at least to me).
Wifey and I have had our cats since before we were married, so we've not only known each other but the cats as well over the last 20 years.
And with that comes a sense of familiarity. You take it almost for granted that the cats will be there every day, JUST as Wifey and are there for each other every day. When the time comes that such things are no longer possible, it will leave a vacuum in one's life. A hole in your heart, as it were.
Awaiting the inevitable is not something I look forward to.
I didn't three years ago, and I still don't now.
But, time will be the deciding factor...it always is, right?
Be well, make a decisions and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

I thank God for this little ball of fur.
He manages to break up the "usual bullcrap" this neighborhood dishes out to the regular folks daily.
Glad you like the pics. He's getting known on the Internet (did some searches)...lol.
Guess we'll need a VIDEO soon...(yikes)!

Yeah, the weather is great for playing "catch up" around the 'Fortress"...Wish I had TWO of me now!

Thanks for rolling up today and commenting.

Study hard & do stay safe down there, Kiddo.

And thanks for reminding us how imperfect we are, lol!

National boyfriend day... I'll bet that gets passed on by more than just you and I, buddy!

So obviously the pizza bandit isn't the white boy in the where's Waldo shirt that knocked off the bank a while back, hmm?

And the changing of his name from Hobo to Ichabod will commence when?

Sorry to hear Sir Rassie is ailing. Damn sweet cat. Luckily he takes after Mommy, eh?

---My friend, if there is ONE thing I, as a Christian EXCEL at...it's IMPERFECTION...LOL.
(fortunately for us, much of the REST of the world is a lot worse off)
---I would not doubt that for one second.
---Nah, he wouldn't be MY first guess, either.
---ROFL...yeah, that might be a consideration.
("Iccy" the cat...gotta kinda poetry to it)
---Not really, he's more like me (aside from any sweetness that he DOES get from "D"...heh).
He's always been his OWN cat and loves the independence (and he's not even from Philly). His curiosity likes to get the better of him sometimes...gee, did I just describe myself?
We'll take it one day at a time, because that's all any of us get every 24 hours, right?

Thanks a lot for stopping by to comment.

Stay safe up there, brother.
