Humpday Happenings...
Talk about a stressor...
So, it's a foggy morning out there, but this sure as hell ain't "London Town".
For me, it's a respite from having to look at the rest of the ghettohood and the creatures infesting it (and I do mean the two-legged variety).
Welcome to that good old midweek crisis we call Wednesday.
Our Hoosierland weather for today will see us with sunny skies after the fog burns off, temps reaching back up into the upper 50s and no precipitation on the horizon. Schools are on a 2-hour delay, so plan accordingly and drive carefully out there.
Now, what say we all get a nice hot mug of coffee, tea, or cocoa poured as we take a look at what's going on elsewhere, shall we?
*** First out of the fog bank is our WHO SAID THAT? quote of the week:
"The fact is that a man who wants to act virtuously in every way necessarily comes to grief among so many who are not virtuous."
This ties in to the common "theme" this week, as if you couldn't tell. And it's a profound observation.
So, WHO said that?
The answer at the top of tomorrow's post.
Meanwhile, back at the Florentine Republic...
*** Next up, is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
NOVEMBER 16 -
---Today is National Fast Food Day
(which is every day in the ghettohood, as evidenced by all the food wrappers tossed from vehicles)
---It's National Button Day
(makes you wonder how many people TODAY know how to sew them on should they come off)
---And, it's National Educational Support Professional's Day
(honors all secretaries, classroom aides, cafeteria workers, maintenance workers, bus drivers and more)
*** Next, let's see what the criminals have been up to in Fort Wayne:
---Uh oh, someone shot up a laundromat on the (where else?) SOUTH side. Here's the story link:
http://www.indianasnewscenter.com/nbc33/Shots-fired-into-Fort-Wayne-laundromat-overnight-during-armed-robbery--401286165.html
This took place at the Wash-House laundromat, located in the 5100 block of S. Calhoun St around 2100 hrs back on Monday night. It's about 1/4 mile from the "Fortress", too.
Police said an armed robbery was the cause of the shooting.
No injuries were reported, and as usual, no suspects are in custody.
Here's a hint, look for black males - they're roaming all over the place all day and all night because none of them know what a REAL job is.
Guess you can't EVEN clean your clothes down here after dark now. Where does this all end? So much for LBJ's "great society" bullshit, right? Just look how "well" that turned out...ROFL!
---There was a bank robbery as well.
Here's that story link:
http://wane.com/2016/11/15/police-release-surveillance-photos-of-bank-robbery-suspect/
This took place Tuesday afternoon around 1430 hrs at the Old National Bank branch located at 6731 Old Trail Rd. This is in Waynedale - southwest Fort Wayne (where I said crime was growing).
Smile...and say "jumpsuit"...
Good video on this. Should be easy enough to find this perp. Could be a Latino.
Goes to show you STILL DON'T need to brandish a weapon to rob a bank in Fort Wayne...JUST a damn note.
(and please print LEGIBLY...many people can't interpret scribble, Spanish or Ebonics)
*** Next, our own City Council pulls what I believe to be a potential "major fail" out of it's collective ass. Here's the story link:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/Council--No-need-to-limit-Legacy-Fund-16343036
Council president, Russ Jehl spoke to wanting to preserve a $30 MIL baseline for the legacy funds "for the future", and I agree with him. Isn't the PURPOSE of ANY legacy for the FUTURE (by definition alone)?
Listen to that flush.
Apparently not to some on council for they are wanting to SPEND...so much for saving, then (when it may be NEEDED).
This plays right into the hands of those master-planners and that $600 MIL (so far), 5 tier project for the riverfront and downtown, does it not?
While no vote was held, the discussion tended to lean in favor OF spending enough ($12 MIL) to erase that $30 MIL baseline. Thing is, WHERE do you stop spending and where do you start saving? Asking a dumbocrat about this would get you a blank stare (at best). All they DO is spend (read waste) other people's money, and many republicans are not much better (more like dumbocrat-light). Just stop all this damn lunacy before you go broke, you morons.
*** Next, and last back to the lighthouse...yesterday, we touched on PTSD and how many people could ACTUALLY be affected by it.
Today, we look at the "stressors" associated with PTSD.
A STRESSOR is ANYTHING that causes stress to a person, and this certainly is not a "one size fits all" kinda gig.
What stresses out one person may not even bother another. We're all quite different in that regard.
It can be anything from specific noises (one of my personal favorites), to traffic gridlock. A stressor can be damn near anything within the range of tangibility, but, it doesn't just stop there.
A stressor can cover the full range of the human SENSES as well. It can be a certain odor (like a burning or decomposed body) - a smell you never forget...ask a LEO or a firefighter about that, because they too can suffer from PTSD just as easily. It can even be a taste of something that causes a cascade effect of emotions. Like I say, no one is immune.
But, we're not quite finished yet...there are still more things we can call stressors.
Back along the lines of tangibility, it can be an object, such as a photo of a loved one now gone, an article of clothing, or hearing a song that brings back memories of a person or event.
---For me specifically, it's the way our cats (Penny and Rassie) used to "pal around" with me in our house....for 17 and 20 years, respectively.
Our "Dynamic Duo".
There was never a time when I could lay down on a sofa or the floor, and one or (usually) both of them wouldn't come up and want to be with me...for no damn reason, either.
Penny would purr her head off whenever she was with me...only took a small stroke of a hand under her chin to get her going.
After she passed, Rassie stuck to me like glue. If I left a room for a short time, he'd wander around until he found where I was and stay nearby. If I was in the computer room, he'd get off the couch and come in and curl up on the cat shelf aka the "perch" in the window next to me, or if I was in the living room, he'd wander in there and want to get in the chair with me, or on the couch. He had this "habit" of climbing onto my chest as I was laying down, watching TV, and he'd paw at my lower lip. Why, I have no idea, but it was kinda cute.
Just HAD to be near "Daddy"...
When he was done with that, he'd curl up between my legs and nod out,
So, yes, doing a simple thing around the house (like getting a nap) has become a stressor for me, and it's not because of anything Rassie had done...it's just due to him BEING THERE with me. It's that "security of the familiar" that gets hard to shake, Somehow, these days, you feel a bit less secure with the cat not there. Hard to explain, but anyone with a pet gets the gist of this.
So, when it comes to stressors, there are so many beside the obvious ones, and any of those can trigger an emotional event. Also, like I said before, no one is immune to this or to a form of PTSD...all you require is the right circumstance, and you're off to the races.
Tomorrow, we'll tackle the wonderful world of memorials and how to preserve the memories which serve to keep those that have passed with us, and help us through the turmoil of grief by remembrance.
So stay tuned and feel free to take notes, if you want to.
We're all in this adventure called LIFE together, aren't we?
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Hey that bank robber is HOT. Just kidding. What a douche. He ain't not too smart showing his face and all. Duh. What's up with your neck of the woods...such violence. Must be a lot of Democrats living there. Oh, snap. Now I found that funny but I am sure I will be burned at the stake for that remark. Snort! Have a super great day. Off to get my celebratory Big Mac!

LMAO...only YOU would say that!
---Our area isn't getting better, that's for sure.
But we are working on having a FIRST-RATE downtown and riverfront area...(yawn).
It's called PRIORITIES, people. Take care of the BAD (first), so we can enjoy the GOOD, right?
---All the "dems" (minorities)live down here on the SE side, and it SHOWS. We're the REAL minority here, so where's all OUR free shit???
(lol).
---Have some fries for me, Kiddo.

Thanks for rolling up today to comment.
Stay safe down there, dear.

Wow, fast food and an LBJ slam- this has the makings of a GREAT post!

Geez, that perp did everything but sign the 8X10, didn't he? Shoulda stuck a tampon on his face like they do in Australia, lol!

I still think the city is in a hidden hole somewhere.... and that money is likely just a number that's keeping it hidden for now.

For me, I think I react more to the LACK of sound. After my dad died, I was two weeks leaving Larry King blathering in the background before I slept right again.

LOL...don't let the lead-in fool 'ya...HA!
---Hey, that's a GOOD idea!
---There is probably SO MUCH MORE that we're NOT being told. Love to find some of THAT stuff out.
---You make a good point...sometimes the LACK of stimulus can bring about a bout of PTSD,..or, as they usually say in the civilian world - "a panic attack".
Same difference, hmm?
The manifestations are as numerous and diverse as the causes, that's for sure.

Hey, thanks for dropping by by to comment.

You stay safe (hugging Scrappy) up there, brother.
