Tuesday Tidbits...
We're not totally dried out from yesterday, but we are getting there, plus,  it won't feel AS seasonal (chilly) outside today, so I guess that's as good a trade-off as we're gonna get.
Our Hoosierland weather for today will find us with mostly cloudy skies...we might even get a decent sunrise out of this, and more mild conditions, with a high of around 59 degrees.
Take a jacket anyway, what the hell, right? Got rain by tonight.
Now, let's all get a drink to wet our whistles, as we see what else has been going on, fair enough?
*** First off of the patio table is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
NOVEMBER 29 -
---Today is Electronic Greetings Day
(obviously a contrived observance)
---And it's the National Day of Giving - #givingtuesday
(guess some people need an electronic reminder, so here it is)
*** Next up, as is customary for Tuesdays, it's time to see ALL the police calls the media SHOULD be telling us about...but don't because they're too busy Trump-bashing...

What? Is THIS effin moron back AGAIN?
*** Next up, time to get our daily dose of STUPID out of the way, so let's get right into it.
---Question: What do you get when you allow so many refugees into America and too many are not properly vetted, thanks to a leftist agenda?
Answer - You get stories like THIS:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/us/Ohio-State-rampage-16562090
A rampage by a Somali refugee (student) at OSU results in multiple stabbings and injuries to students there.
Abdul Razak Ali Artan (obviously NOT Irish).
Fortunately, a good guy with a gun (police officer) took the perp down and offed his sorry ass.
(let's see the BLM'ers come to protest THIS one)
This event is being treated as a terrorist attack...and with good reason.
Goes to show you don't need a gun to injure people when a car and butcher knife work well enough, and also, never bring a knife to a gunfight.
Glad this piece of refugee trash is dead. Maybe we'll look at such people in a better (and safer for us) manner from here in out.
---And since we still don't yet know the C.O.D. of the woman found wrapped in carpet padding in a SE side alley, we have what could (again) be homicide #45 (or 46 IF the coroner rules in the female's death).
What? Another One?
Here's the latest:
http://wane.com/2016/11/28/one-person-critically-injured-in-shooting/
This took place along Holgate Drive (near Hessen Cassel and Paulding) around 2200 hrs last night. Police found a car in a nearby field with the driver suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He later died at hospital.
Police believe the incident began behind an apartment building (no doubt another haven for the "government-sponsored") on Holgate when the victim tried to speed away.
Sure looks like a record-breaker to me.
---Also, just when you thought Cable TV couldn't become MORE problematic, this crap comes floating along:
http://wane.com/2016/11/28/attention-frontier-subscribers/
Yeah, Frontier and WANE (General Media) are at loggerheads with contractual negotiations, and we (at the "Fortress") could lose WANE on our channel lineup.
Didn't Comcast go through something similar a year or two ago?
Well, no big deal for me, but I DO watch Blue Bloods on Friday night. Wifey will have a fit, because she watches NCIS, Criminal Minds, Survivor, Big Bang Theory, so you get the idea.
Funny thing...we NEVER had such problems when all those AIRWAVES WERE FREE...did we?
See how they can hold everyone "hostage" with such bullshit?
Doesn't matter WHAT carrier you have...sooner or later you will be affected, make no mistake.
Being held hostage is "new"?
Even if you go with complete Internet (streaming) TV...the same "rules" (against you) will apply.
Get used to being screwed...but some Vaseline. Or, you could protest THIS instead.
--- Question: How can you push forward a plan for a new downtown arena when it's not REALLY needed (or wanted by many)?
Well, here's a story that proves that the city is still moving FORWARD anyway, in spite of any push-back:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/Consultants-hired-to-look-at-arena-plan-16555798
Welcome to the Bob Chase Memorial Arena.
Yeah, consultants are being HIRED...that says a lot, right? But that still doesn't answer the question.
How's about we try THIS - we name this new arena in honor of the late BOB CHASE???
Let's call it the Bob Chase Memorial Arena - that's SURE to garner enough "sympathy" support to move ahead with it's construction, even if we don't need that arena at all.
Now, this is something I thought about since Bob passed, and it would make sense, because I can put myself in the shoes of such people. To know your adversary, you have to THINK like them (Sun Tzu).
This would get a LOT of people on board, too, with little resistance. I mean who would DENY Bob Chase such an honor (even if it's for the almighty dollar and not in any real sense a way to honor his memory and life).
I would be surprised if this DOES NOT happen.
*** Next up, and changing gears back to a somewhat "normal" configuration, let's take a look at "What the hell has Bob been buying on eBay?" shall we?
For one thing, I snagged a brand new (and still shrink-wrapped) DVD set of the first three Star Wars movies (episodes 4-6) with all that wonderful digital enhancement added in. Even has a 4th disc full of behind-the-scenes stuff.
It's the only way to go since I can't watch the BETA of VHS tape versions I already have.
And I only paid $10.25 (free shipping) for that.
I also managed to get a DVD of the latest Star Wars movie THE FORCE AWAKENS...like new, and that cost me $7.50 (again, free shipping). If you add them together, that's WAY cheaper than seeing them all in the theater, and I should know...I saw the first three flicks in a proper movie house - 40 foot screens and DTS stereo...now THAT is movie-watching!
I also got a Marvel legends Captain America figure (6 inch) from the Civil War movie.
Very nicely articulated and painted. One of the better figures from Hasbro (the Bandai Figuarts figure is THE best...and the price proves it - try $50 bucks on the low side). Action figures are costing way too much these days.
The legends figure goes for about $20 in stores (and up, mostly up), but I got mine (loose) for $10.
Yeah, I can live with that.
*** Next, more fun with kittens...you gotta love 'em, in spite of whatever havoc they may cause about the house,
Bonding with us, AND one another.
Such chaos is fleeting...something we can't say about humanity, right?
It's still difficult to get any "action" pictures, because the camera does require SOME level of sedentary posturing.
Maybe we'll get some video out there, who knows?
I will say these two provide a certain enjoyment you don't get with an adult cat. With older cats, you get more familiar comfortability with the way they have bonded to you (and you to them) over time.
Violet and Gallifrey are still learning that, and the manner in which they go about this "learning curve" is something I had forgotten over the last 20 years when we last had kittens in our home. Everything is pretty new to them, and the way they are acclimating themselves to all of this is worth the price of admission.
*** Last back to the bird feeder...one thing you can always depend upon when it comes to our pets is NOT getting your feelings hurt.
That's just not in the "operational manual" for our four-legged (or feathered) friends.
Wish I could say the same about humankind.
We seem to EXCEL at hurt feelings, especially in today's propaganda-driven, politically-correct world.
We can't say this or that, can't do this or that, and can't print or write this or that...and I am getting DAMN sick and tired of hearing about all the "this and that" bullshit tossed at us.
If we look to antiquity, we learn very early on that hurt feelings led to the death of Abel at the hands of his brother Cain.
Abel was favored over Cain (rightly so, in fact), and obviously, that caused the same thing people suffer from today.
You know, I've been on this rock called Earth for 64 years, and in ALL that time, I've had my feelings hurt...A LOT.
As you get older, it becomes more commonplace. Problem is, some people NEVER learn to acknowledge such truth and choose to move PAST it.
You do reach a certain age where such things are not near as important as all the rest that life has to offer. And, the sooner we learn that, the better off we become.
Sadly, today's world is hell bent on protecting our "hurt feelings"...actually going so far as to NURTURE them.
Of course, like any disease, if not properly treated, it will get worse.
Welcome to today's world.
What I think many people need, is to stop with all the cry-baby, pooped my diaper antics that are best left in infancy. When we grow up, we SHOULD be acting like adults, and not some spoiled-ass kids who become petulant at the drop of a hat...or word...or whatever else is bothering them.
Life has SO damn much more than wasting time on hurt feelings, and life can bring pain that will make that pale in comparison. Time to make the right choice, and for the right reason.
Time that people started living their own life and not exist for the purpose of annoying others, or worse.
Cain found out the hard way...let's hope the rest of humanity isn't as stupid.
Yeah, I can still dream. And I can also hope.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Hello, Bob! Good day to you. The OSU dealio is quite sad and if he is indeed a radical...well, he is dead and so that was for nought. Our times are crazy. And then there is the recount. Sigh. Can't we have world peace?

I know a little about that campus. Spent a year in Columbus, and Wifey did a stint in some post-grad work at OSU.
Definitely a lunatic that got under our radar.
A recount...from the LEFT of all places...more craziness.
World peace?
Hell, at this point, I'd settle for peace JUST in our city. We can work (out) from there, hmm?
Although begging for security might be another two-edged sword. (I smell a blog post a'comin' on THAT topic...lol).

Thanks for rolling up today, and spending some time here to comment.
Stay safe down there, Kiddo.

In reverse as I go back up...

I was THIS close to telling a liberal friend on FB last night, "You people are acting like your dad took you to a scary movie and now you can't sleep in the dark." They dared to tell a historian like me that conditions in this country right now are comparable to Hitler's ascension. I hopefully finished the thing off by saying, "In this country, we all have NO IDEA what nationwide suffering is like."

I didn't have to live in 1929 to know how bad THAT was. I READ.

I can only imagine the WTF moments V & G are giving you guys!

More nice collectables- makes it easier not having to spend Christmas on three instant grandkids, eh?

Heard the K's owners this afternoon, trying to find a way to honor Bob, "...naming a street after him, or part of a street..." I bet in a week or two we'll have that eureka moment when the "plan" will "Just fall together."

You know, this tv hostage game is utter bs- propaganda so people will write in to the company and they'll knock a few bucks off the total. WANE and the rest do this all the time. We got an e-mail last spring from Antenna TV that said WANE was bouncing them in August. Still there. MY BS detector is pinging the red.

I think Quincy ought to throw a name the COD contest for carpet lady. funniest answer that goes with the evidence wins. Crass, yes, but it's not like HE's doing any better.

I'm going to assume you're going to hit up Tim Kaine's response to the OSU attack tomorrow. Let me just get my "whatta moron" in now.

--Seemed like you had that breakaway shot on goal...and TOOK IT!
He shoots, he SCORES!
---There are people in this country who DO know what nationwide suffering was - those STILL alive from the Great Depression.(the greatest generation - kinda lived up to their moniker).
---I'm my OWN best grandkid...LOL.
---And then you can say you read about it here first.
I'd rather see the Coliseum renamed for Chase, but that'll never happen.
---The LOCAL fluff doesn't bother me as much as the crap at the FEDERAL level and WHY we "had" to switch to digital when analog was fine enough in both sound AND picture.
(more on that soon).
---Heh...like the idea. Crass? No way...just TRUE.
---I couldn't give a rip about Tim Kaine (leftist loon). Gun violence my ass!
Let's try ISLAMIC REFUGEE RADICAL TERRORIST VIOLENCE, Timmy Boy.
He's SO far off base, he was tagged out several innings ago.

Hey, thanks for stopping by and commenting.

Stay safe up there, brother.
