I think we're not going to have any rain TODAY. That's what the forecasts are saying.
As for sunshine? Well, we might see some, but it won't be all day.
This seems like both the wettest and least sunny January I can recall.
But, we can take solace that all the rain so far was NOT snow. Keep saying that to yourselves.
Our Hoosierland weather for today will be cloudy once again, with temps reaching back up to around 44 degrees.
And that's about it from the Hall of Broken Records...lol.
Now, what say we chase off the gloominess away with a nice hot cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa, hmm?
*** First out of the basement is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
JANUARY 24 -
---Today is Beer Can Appreciation Day
(without them, I wouldn't have any lawn trash from the dumbass "locals"...lol)
---It's National Compliment Day
(I believe I just took care of that above...HA!)
---And, it's National Peanut Butter Day
(aww, yeah...sounds like a winner to me. I feel a PB&J coming on)
*** Next up and since it is a Tuesday, let's see all the (media ignored) police calls that our local morons were causing this past week, shall we?

Someone trying to scare the Kroger shoppers at Southgate Plaza?
*** Next up, it appears that the Woman's March on D.C, had some "expected" financial support, as well as some lewd language by some ((ahem)) "lady" celebs (and I use the word LADY loosely) Here's the story:
http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2017/01/23/soros-dc-march-partners/
The dark side is strong with the Sith. |
Oh, and let's mention that Soros has ties to the Clinton crime family, too.
Best case for euthanasia...EVER! |
And the sheeple aren't aware and couldn't care less...that's both damning and disgusting, as well as extremely pathetic.
*** Next, if you, like those in our City Hall are (still) wondering what factors drive violent crime, well, wonder no longer.
(a short video automatically starts, so you may want to mute that):
http://www.crimeinamerica.net/2011/02/22/top-10-factors-contributing-to-violent-crime/
See, it's not hard to find the truth, although it's been taking decades in this city to do so.
Here's the Cliff's Notes version:
Top 10 Factors Identified as Contributing to Violent Crime.
Gangs 82 %
Juveniles / youth crime 80 %
Economy / poverty / unemployment 74 %
Impulsive violence / disrespect issues 74 %
Release of offenders from correctional institutions 69 %
Drugs-Cocaine 67 %
Poor parenting 63 %
Increased availability of guns 55 %
Reduced cooperation from witnesses / victims 37 %
Educational system-increasing dropout rates 36 %
Have to say, when it comes to the SE side, we got 'em ALL, and in such abundance.
*** Next, and while we're back in Ft. Wayne, there was a great "Letter to the Editor" in today's paper.
Always nice to hear some reason. Here's the link:
http://www.journalgazette.net/opinion/columns/Too-much-public--too-little-private-17376434
When it comes to ALL these big-ass plans and projects for our downtown and riverfront (as well as other things), it always comes down to the TAXPAYER...right?
And these three City Council men are not afraid to "tell it like it is".
For example - ((Taxpayers are funding about three-quarters of the proposed Landing and funded well more than half of the recent Skyline second phase.)). Did you all know that?
Over 50% of that came out of YOUR pockets.
Many times, funding sources are :"bundled" together.
((Combining several economic development tools from multiple public funding sources, the taxpayer provides the majority of the funding. Surely state lawmakers never intended for these tools to be used in this way.))
Talk about "tools" using tools.
Sounds like the city admins get the gold mine (public works), while the taxpayers get "the shaft"...again.
It's a good read, and I would love to hear more in-depth discussion on this (if the libtards would STFD and STFU).
*** Next, time to stop on by "Kitten Corner"...
I took a photo the other day, and when I uploaded it to the photo enhancement program and eventually store it, I kinda got creeped the hell out.
Sure looks like another cat above Violet. |
A "ghost image" of another cat in the picture? Doesn't look like a person.
It was not a reflection of any cat here, nor was it any sort of reflective "capture" from the television. It also was not a double-exposure (I wouldn't know how to do that with a digital camera anyway).
It really shocked the shit out of me, because I have no idea how it got there, or "who" it might be.
(although my first thought was either Penelope, Rassie or Hobo, but nope.)
Doesn't look like any of them. |
Hey, I'm just waiting for the next meal. |
When all is said and done, both Violet and Gallifrey will seek me out and nap close by (as if the person who feeds them is planning to split anytime soon).
And I'm just being cute at the scratching post. |
*** Last back to the rooftop...life is always full of surprises, both good and bad.
My gig is to make sure I get a lot more of the GOOD ones, and a lot fewer of the BAD ones.
Well, that's the plan, anyway.
Some we can kind of expect, while others come at us from left field.
But, as long as we're aware of such things, they don't catch us totally off-guard.
I like to think we're all a lot more resilient than we give ourselves credit for, and there's nothing wrong with that.
Better to bend like a willow in the breeze and be flexible.
This is different than being malleable in mind, as too many people are these days; given to whatever whim others want to thrust upon them.
Better to be open to new experiences, ideas, and the like, than to blindly follow along, trusting without care or doubt.
The former opens up a much larger world to us, while the latter keeps us sequestered from that which we need to know in order to grow as human beings..
I know which direction I'm trying to follow, even if the path is more difficult.
After all, it's harder to learn when things are too easy, right?
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

I saved you for last because I'm still firing down from my latest post, and I figure you'll give me something better to bitch about, lol!
One could appreciate beer cans better back in the day, when we first started collecting and it was such an adventure! Poop on those who made it into a business...
Your compliment for the day- this is a great place to gather with the like minded for a change...
As for the march- you'll see all I have to say about some of the women at those marches in my post...
And FB had an article that we can expect a Soros sponsored "grass-roots" minority march next...
Excellent top ten. My only question is why the top two aren't considered the same. Or 2 and 4. Or 2, 4, 6, and...
Public/private: And therein lies the reason the Raiders and Chargers are moving. They can't get majority-public funding of new stadiums passed. Pretty soon the only cities with teams will be the ones with the biggest % of suckers in the tax base.
Dammit, you caught my ectoplasmic spy camera!
Chris:
---I do appreciate being in such a revered position (LAST, as in saving the BEST for...)
Tres cool.
---I know. Seems there are always those who manage to take the "fun" out of collecting (most anything).
---I LOVE that compliment. Might make it into a quote (citing YOU, of course).
it's like living in one's own world...EVERYBODY knows your name there...HA!
---I cannot WAIT to hear your POV on those trollops!
---Would not surprise me. Soros is fast running out of "new material" and what he's got is SO damn predictable.
---I thought about that. There can be some valid similarities made for some of them.
---Breaks my heart(followed BOTH teams when they part of the old AFL), but the "Ivory-Tower" residents in those cities CAUSED it all.
That's what happens when such people can't see PAST their billfolds.
---Ectoplasmic spy cam - hadn't thought of that. Still, looks more feline than human (or canine, sorry, Scrappy).
Thanks for stopping on by and speaking your mind.
Always a delight.
Stay safe (and relatively sane) up there, brother.
