Tuesday Tidbits...
And, we're "back in the saddle again" as far as the REGULAR week goes, but remember, it is a SHORT week, and trash is a day late because of the Monday holiday (which I trust you all observed in a rightful manner).
We are also rapidly approaching the end of the month, and it won't be long before half of THIS year is behind us.
Our Hoosierland weather for today is a pretty close copy of yesterday. We've got mild temps, topping out around the mid-70s again (tad cooler than yesterday), and that darned chance of a scattered rain shower in the afternoon.
So, what say we take a brief break and get ourselves a nice refreshing drink to wet our whistle, as we see what ELSE has been going one in some familiar places, hmm?
*** First out of the mulch bag is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
MAY 30 -
---It's National Loomis Day
(it's a telegraph thing)
---It's National Hole In My Bucket Day
(there are holes in people too in the ghettohood)
---It's National Mint Julep Day
(bourbon...say no more)
---It's National Water a Flower Day
(Mother Nature's been doing a bang-up job already)
*** Next up, and even though it's a short week, let's take a look at ALL the FWPD runs that the media "forgot" to tell us about, because they were SO busy being politically-correct...

===========================
*** Next up, the "fireworks" season has begun, and we're not necessarily talking about the bargain booms you can get at stores, but the boom that comes from the muzzle of a firearm (obtained illicitly, no doubt).  Here's the first story:
http://wane.com/2017/05/29/1-seriously-hurt-in-shooting/
This took place on the city's (where else?) SOUTHEAST side, around 1430 hrs near Creighton and Harrison . A victim was found at that location in serious condition. A car there had bullet holes in the side of it.
((A witness told NewsChannel 15 that someone was shooting toward a man from an apartment two blocks away at Hoagland Avenue. The man shot back before he jumped into a car and sped off, the witness said.))
Here's the story of the second shooting event:
http://wane.com/2017/05/29/gunshot-victim-found-in-alley/
A man was found shot in an alley off of the 2300 block of Pontiac St.(near Abbott and Queen) around 1635 hrs yesterday.
Police responded to calls from neighbors saying a man was yelling for help, but after police found the man, he because uncooperative, and refused to tell officers anything about being shot (typical for these people).
And, to complete the Trifecta of Dumbassery, here's a third story:
http://wane.com/2017/05/29/shooting-investigation-underway/
This shooting did NOT take place on the SE side...try the NE side.
It happened around 2230 hrs Monday night in a home in the 9600 block of St. Joe Center Road, near Wheelock Road.
And, it's said that a woman shot a man (talk about REAL equality).
Another domestic that gets out of hand...these can be very dangerous.
*** Next, and speaking of dangerous domestics, what about that black guy that shot up sevreal houses and killed 8 people, including a sheriff's deputy? Here's that story:
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2017/05/28/mississippi-shooting-8-dead-including-including-deputy-sheriff-suspect-in-custody.html
Yeah, a real piece of human crap. Ruined a lot of lives JUST because he couldn't handle himself.
He said it best..."I AIN'T FIT TO LIVE". Damn shame he didn't figure that out and take HIS OWN LIFE BEFORE he killed all those other people.
*** Next up, we lost both Gregg Allman and Jim Bunning over the weekend.
Now, I was never an Allman Brothers fan, so I'll best leave that to those who were, but I do remember Jim Bunning and his perfect game with the Phillies.
Here's his WIKI:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Bunning
Makes me want to look over my baseball cards to see if I have any of his around.
*** Next, let's leave the crap behind and stop on by "Kitten Corner"...
"We haz birds on the patio."
Well, no Velcro cats, no scratching, no destruction....I'd call that a win.
A nicely lackluster day down here in the crotch of Fort Wayne.
I do have aa feeling that the cats aren't going to enjoy the fireworks when the locals spend all that EBT, WIC and SNAP money on them.
"I iz tired from chasing my brother."
Still, it was a good day just to take things easy...the way a cat's life should be, right?
*** Next up, let's turn another page of our "Tales of Midnight"...
As usual, when the rains came, he left. That's fine, as long as he's safe and dry (which he was when he returned).
"Do wake me if a bird happens by."
He ;loves to spend most of the day lounging, and when he's on the back steps, the birds come by to feed on the ground.
Yes, he does sleep that soundly, in spite of the fact that he was enjoying MY COFFEE when Wifey and I were outside Monday. Last thing I need...a CAFFEINATED CAT.
"Hmm...extra sweet with a hint of hazelnut...nice."
Amazing for this area, considering the loudass mooks we have roaming and mouthing off all over.
And, as long as he comes by, he's got a meal and some relative safety right here.
*** Last back to the fire pit...we here at the "Fortress" tend to enjoy holidays.
And, we enjoy them in a more traditional manner...good company, good eats, and a tendency to NOT inflict our observances upon others.
Can't say the same thing for the ethnic "locals".
You can hear their big yaps flapping a block away...and even farther with what they supposedly call "music".
And on a day such as yesterday, WE (once again) were the ONLY house in our immediate area to have an AMERICAN FLAG FLYING.
Guess we can't expect such normalcy, or signs of respect to those deserving of Memorial Day from the human refuse living around us. That's a very sad thing to see
If people didn't want to observe the day, they used to keep to themselves, or go elsewhere. In decades past, nearly everyone in our old neighborhoods back east had flags out on those certain days.
It makes me wonder what we are teaching our children along those lines, because we've had several generations since mine that have lost the ability to empathize properly, to even acknowledge events that defined our country.
We "older" generation are the ones mostly lining streets during parades that demonstrate our love of country, and patriotism. Sure, there's some younger folks, but not to the degree we used to see them along streets and avenues.
And you hate to see some national catastrophe be the catalyst that galvanizes a nation like ours (9/11 comes to mind), because even events such as those never have the staying power they used to have.
To pull together...as Americans (from all the various countries we, and our ancestors came from) was a lot better to witness than what we have today in our country, with all this PCBS being shoved down our throats constantly.
Moreover, to embrace a "higher authority", as our forefathers did, and looking TO that authority for wisdom, guidance, and comfort in times of trouble was also more prevalent than we see today.
And people wonder why I am always saying that "I miss those days"...
I honestly do, and wish we could get them back, before our country looses it's identity.
Let's hope that never happens, and is never "redefined" for the sake of a handful who don't understand what it means to live HERE.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Hey, I'm surprised you didn't talk about Manuel Noriega dying. Such a scoundrel he was. Love your home pics. Nice flag! Yes, I have mine out. I think your cat is up to trouble. LOL

---Nah, Pineapple head (or pizza-face - take yer pick) isn't that big a deal.
Glad he's dead and WTF took SO damn long, right?
---Had your flag out...well, that's TWO of us I know of...heh.
---You think the cat's up to trouble?
Sure hope not. It's hard getting angry at such cute, isn't it? But the java is still MINE!

Thanks for rolling up today to comment.
(btw, still have about half of that coffee left and none for any cats...lol)

Stay safe down there, Kiddo.

We had a Lori Loomis in high school- don't think she got that famous...

Laurie, knowing her love of the song, will get a kick out of Hole In My Bucket Day, dear Liza!

After hearing about all those shootings on the way home, for the merest moment I considered the benefits to taking away ALL firearms... but then reality sets in, and new weapons spring up as close as your kitchen doors. Not the weapon, but the holder has grown darker...

I heard about the coffee thing. Beats letting him in the Guinness, I suppose...

I wonder whether the ability to galvanize this country a la 911 even exists now...

---Nothing against Lori, but I also don't think so.
---Didn't know Laurie liked the song. Learned something new today. It's a tale that has no end, though. kinda like a "temporal loop thingy".
---Agreed to the rise of evil intent in humanity. There's a few blog posts we can attach to THAT one.
---I shudder to think that we actually NEED something that EXTREME to make that happen.
Our society has indeed grown more complacent as well as desensitized...that "evil intent" gig comes back to mind there. Guess we can thank liberalism and the lack of morality? They do play well enough together, hmm?

Thanks for stopping over today to comment.

Stay safe up there, brother.
