Thoughts For Thursday...
If you woke up this morning (always a much better start to ANY day), and looked outside, you might notice a bit of fog...and drizzle. You can thank Irma for that. Others who were touched by Irma were not nearly as fortunate as we have been, so suck up any inconvenience, say some prayers to those down south, and soldier on.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us mostly to partly cloudy skies (as the day progresses), temps reaching to around 73 degrees, and perhaps a leftover shower early on. Like I said...we were VERY fortunate, and should be thankful.
Now, let's get ourselves steeled to whatever the day has in store for us, with a nice cup or glass of a favorite beverage, as we take a look at what else has been going on...
*** First off of the rain gutter is the answer to yesterday's WHO SAID THAT? quote:
"These things will destroy the human race: politics without principle, progress without compassion, wealth without work, learning without silence, religion without fearlessness and worship without awareness."
This was spoken by another one of our "newbies" (here), one Anthony de Mello  (4 September 1931 – 2 June 1987) was an Indian Jesuit priest and psychotherapist. And here is his WIKI:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anthony_de_Mello
Certainly not a long read, and that's too bad. Looks like Tony had a lot of good to say.
Seems he ran afoul of the Catholic church (11 years after his death) for allegations that are not really supported about his beliefs, nor can they be argued by de Mello (some love to do that to dead people). I would contend that a review of his works should speak for him, and not any "interpretation" by members of the Catholic faith. There is this "caveat"  in Catholic bookstores for his works:
((The books of Father Anthony de Mello were written in a multi-religious context to help the followers of other religions, agnostics and atheists in their spiritual search, and they were not intended by the author as manuals of instruction of the Catholic faithful in Christian doctrine or dogma."))
I'll let all of you decide for yourselves.
*** Next up, time for our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
SEPTEMBER 14 -
---it's National Cream-Filled Donut Day
(oh, yeah...got THIS one covered)
---It's National Eat A Hoagie Day
(I would if Fort Wayne HAD a shop that made REAL ones!)
---It's National Live Creative Day
(
(suppose it's better than the dead-creative days)
---It's National Virginia Day
(Been there more than a few times - nice state)
*** Next up, the FWPD is looking for a sex offender in (where else?) the SE part of town. Here's the lowdown:
http://wane.com/2017/09/13/police-ask-for-publics-help-finding-a-sexual-assault-suspect/
Seems police have some DNA evidence that is a match in every one of these three cases, but a check of those incarcerated (who have to submit a DNA sample) uncovered no one matching the perp, who is still at large.
The only description by any of the victims is that it was a BLACK MALE (wow, what a stinking surprise THERE huh?)
Guess that rules out the guy living next door to us...he preferred kids (according to his rap sheet).
Considering we have at least a dozen rapes EVERY week (and well over 25 registered sex offenders in the immediate area), police will have to do this the hard way - wait until this perps does something ELSE stupid and gets his ass arrested (when a DNA sample can be taken and he gets "registered")...
*** Next, a suspect in a 25 July shooting is formally charged. Here's the story link:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/police-fire/20170914/suspect-in-shooting-of-driver-faces-charges
Effin' LOSER!
Christopher Moore, 24 of the 8600 block of Chesterfield Run (southwest near Southbridge Apts (erratum corrected), obviously government-sponsored living at it's "finest")  is  the sack of shit involved in the shooting of a Burger King employee.
((Moore was charged Wednesday in Allen Superior Court with robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, aggravated battery and criminal recklessness committed with a deadly weapon in the July 25 shooting. He was arrested in late August in Chicago.
By 6 Sept., Moore was at the Allen County Jail.)) That's what happens when you brag about yoiur crimes, asshole. You get caught.
He was being held in lieu of $125,000 bail, according to an Allen County Jail spokesman.
surveillance video capture
Other charges against Moore include two misdemeanors for resisting law enforcement and leaving the scene of an accident, domestic battery and a felony battery charge. For these he was being held without bail, a jail spokesman said.
The employee was shot in the face, and is partially blind in her left eye, after undergoing reconstructive surgery for her cheek and eye socket.
Toss the biggest damn book you can find at this domestic terrorist. He's not fit to live with regular people.
*** Next up, , and along those lines, here's a story about an anti-gun violence rally that's planned:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/20170914/anti-gun-violence-gathering-planned
This will take place on 24 September. The event will be 4 to 6 p.m. at the Urban League, 2135 S. Hanna St., and the public is invited. Sorry, I'll be busy watching my own property for suspicious behavior (and unsupervised "children".)
Still, that far away, I shouldn't be able to hear the "music" they will be playing.
Hope these people remember that it's MAINLY about VIOLENCE (first) and the lack of self-control...guns are just a tool used by criminals...like knives, bats, irons, crowbars, scissors...you get my drift.
*** Next, let's drop by and spend some time at "Kitten Corner"...
The kids were not that bad, considering Wifey  drove down to Vincennes to visit her Dad (until Friday). They got a little rambunctious later in the day, but nothing that was not able to be corralled with a laser pointer.
The chasing thing is something they will get bored with...cats are like that. Besides, they much prefer naps to crazy.
*** Next up, time to see what's going on with "Midnight and Company"...
We're almost done with the medications for Midnight, and even with yesterday's rain, he stayed close to the house.
Well, I feel MUCH safer NOW.
His "patrol" consisted of our front lawn...and along the front of the house.
He even parked on the front step for a time.
(guess he was guarding our fountain grass).
Whiskers was also nearby all day, and has this new "habit" of looking into the house (at the patio door) to see if the food is forthcoming.
It is, she just needs to practice a little patience.
Then all becomes right with the world once again...for the community cats.
*** Last back to the basement...just how good are these  anti-(insert word here) rallies?
In some cases, they are fine and peaceful...others tend to turn violent, especially in public venues. In a more private locale, they serve a needed function, even if it's to heal the broken spirits of those who suffer from violence, whether the crime was committed with a gun or not.
What those people have to realize is that VIOLENCE IS VIOLENCE...period.
Violence that results in willful and intended injury or death cannot be acceptable in a normal society, and should always be prosecuted to the fullest extent that the law permits. I will confess however, that there are those RARE times when violence is required to DEAL with violence. We call that war. It's also used as a protective measure when met with the violence of others. It can be allowed under specific circumstances (personal defense).
And that's the rub, here. What DOES the law permit?
These days, it permits a helluva lot more than it used to, all in the name of tolerance.
Well, you know what I think about THAT.
(bullshit)
We all need to unite AGAINST crime (and it's own type of violence), and stay the course, no matter which PCBS idiot comes along. We need to become emboldened when it comes to truth...and justice, and yes...the American way. (sounds like the opening from the old Superman TV show)
But think about it. If we do nothing about this, then that is exactly what will get done...nothing.
And in times like these, nothing is NOT a good thing.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there,  America.

My take on Catholic dogma: "I refuse to know anything but Christ, and Him crucified"- Paul.

"...dead-creative days..." LOLOL!

HEY! Moore is at WOODLAKE ESTATES! I am at Woodbridge apartments!!!!

Bob G is charged with unlawful geographic confusion, and is urged to turn himself in ASAP for correctional therapy...

All rallies are like the old joke about Charlie Brown peeing his pants, IMHO...

Chris:
---I had a feeling you'd fell that way, I find deMello refreshing in some ways. He tried to reach ALL people (even, dare I say it...atheists)...kinda cool.
---dead-creative...sorta sounds like all the ideas flowing from our City Hall of late...heh.
---I had your place on my mind when I was typing.
I meant to say near SOUTHBRIDGE Apartments...
I apologize for the brain-fart. I fixed it.
---LOL...yeah, it sure seems that way these days.

Hey, thanks for stopping by to comment (and correct my geographical erratum)...

Stay safe (and well-located) up there, brother.
