Tuesday Tidbits...

Okay, so we go from a rainy day to a foggy one...welcome to Indiana.
(don't worry, conditions WILL change shortly...bet on it.)
Still, I have noticed mosquitoes out already, as are the yellow-jackets (killed at least one of each already).
Plus, the weed patrol is back out, so they'll be leaving their placards on various unattended properties.
(just make sure you don't get wrongly-cited for having ORNAMENTAL grasses...lol)
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us mostly cloudy skies, temps climbing back up to around 75 degrees. That alone should cause things to be a bit humid.

Now, let's get a refreshing drink, for I think we'll all need one straight away, as we see what else has been going on...

*** Next, we had yet ANOTHER shooting on the (take a wild effin' guess) SOUTH side of the city, which seems to have become an idiot magnet (of the first order) in the last couple decades, thanks to "city-planning".

Here's the story so far:

This took place last night around 2330 hrs in the 5400 block of Webster St (near Paulding Rd), where several calls into the FWPD were for "shots fired". Police found several shell casings but NO victim. As is the case these days, he had been privately transported to hospital in critical condition. Also as usual, no motive, no suspect and no witnesses (to speak of).
Welcome to the SOUTH side of Fort Wayne, which is looking more like the WILD WEST every day.

Yeah, the Obamas are coming to Netflix. Now if THAT isn't a reason to NEVER get or DROP Netflix, I don't know what the hell is.
I don't care what "content" they're pushing, because I didn't much like the manner they tried to "fundamentally change America" when he was in office. Maybe there will be a show on arugula...who the hell cares?

*** Next, a FWPD officer is struck by a hit and run driver. Here's the story:

Trying to remove a dead deer from the road and the officer gets tagged by some a-hole who didn't stop. The officer is sore, but not injured in any major way. In other words, he got REAL lucky, and that's a good thing.

People chased down a robber in Columbus, OH< and after a "struggle", the robber dies.
Oh, boo-frigging-hoo. Cry me a damn river. It's good to see bystanders get involved, and the Columbus police have yet to say if charges will be forthcoming against any of those who confronted the robber.
You know, there are times when an example has to be made, and maybe in this, other robbers might think twice before taking stuff that doesn't belong to them...but it does smack of vigilantism (which in some cases, might be a GOOD thing...in certain instances). Frank Castle would know.
Just make sure any beat-down is against a CRIMINAL...that's very important.

She pooped herself totally out.

Not a bad Monday for "the kids", as they were both having fun amusing themselves without getting into trouble.Had some extra weekend pics worth posting.
Both of them exhibit the usual "young cat antics" and find toys to play with. They lso manage to come over to you and do the "body rub" thing.

And he decided to join her...

I think they're getting into a good routine. Noiw, if we can teach them to find stuff WE misplace about the house...lol.

Our furry twosome were close by during the rain. Neither of them were that wet, which show to me that they manage to find some dry spots to curl up and snooze.
Seeing them at the mealtimes is always a welcome relief, too.

I think they get the feeling that what they need is readily available at our place, as opposed to having to scrounge about. Nothing wrong with taking care of the "homeless" along those lines.
*** Last back to the shoreline... fellow blogger (and good friend) Chris Martin had a very good post yesterday regarding the school shootings, but there is also another aspect to what he had to say, and it makes  perfect sense.

There is a direct correlation between certain social "changes" and individual human behavior.
Every time we allow something to become legislated, there is always a level of "fallout" that comes along for the ride.
You COULD call it "unintended consequences", but that's not totally true. I think some of those consequences ARE indeed...intended. What they are intended to do is questionable, but it rarely helps our society advance in a manner that benefits all of us equally.
Many times, it opens the floodgates for evil to come in and play.

Then, the same lawmakers scurry about, trying to find a remedy for something they should not have created in the first place.
Such things come in cycles, and many times we're trying to correct the mess from the last cycle of mayhem when the next one comes along...and we never get truly caught up.
This is a pattern that repeats itself all too often, and if we're not careful, it may well cause irreversible problems we can't imagine.
We'd all be well-advised to turn back from such folly before we become too mired down to respond in a manner that could solve these problems. History can indeed become a learning tool, or an "I told you so" moment...it all depends on US.
