Thoughts for Tuesday...

Although we didn't get any rain where "we" live, Mother Nature made up for it in spades after it got dark. We had some serious thunder claps and then the rains came.
Everything's still soggy from the overnight showers.
And, I don't think we're quite done just yet.
Take the umbrella, drive carefully, and watch for fallen branches and other stuff.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us mostly cloudy skies, with more rain coming by later in the afternoon. Today's high will be when the locals roll off their government-sponsored mattresses, but for the rest of us, it'll be around 82 degrees.

Let's not forget all the humidity that will hang around either.
Now, what say we get the inside of us wet with a refreshing beverage, as we see what else has been going on, shall we?

Thug-ass loser!

Deon Maurice Sanders, 33, is the dumbass being charged with battery and criminal recklessness.
((“Bartley advised that Sanders stated to him, 'This is my block,'” court documents said. “Bartley advised he responded, 'It's a free country.'” ))
That when this animal took it upon himself to settle the "dofference of opinion".
Apparently, Sanders has been on file (in the system), because HIS "mug" was picked out of a photo array by the victim.
And now, Sanders "owns" a small jail cell...and that's YOUR cell (on "your block"), you effing turdblossom..
Maybe, if you ever pull this crap again, the person you attack will have a gun and end your sorry ass once and for all.
This is what happens when small problems go ignored.
*** Next, a couple government-sponsored "females" (and I use the word loosely) have some fun at an Indy Do-It-Best hardware store. Here's the story:

These two took some Yeti (brand) coolers and then just waltzed out of the store like their stolen merchandise was OWED to them (reparations?)
Again, this is the result of too many broken windows in our major cities.

I read where a store employee was pepper-sprayed (no doubt trying to stop the shoplifters).
A shame the store owner didn't just cap their more than ample asses.
I know, they're just SO damn "poor" that they HAVE to steal...gimme a break (and watch the video)

Officer Jason Potts

A 22-year veteran of the department faces a long road to recovery after this took place in the Germantown section of the city (I worked there, and my Dad grew up there...it's changed considerably since then, and NOT for the better).
The person who shot the officer was killed by return fire.

Well, at least SOME good came out of this. One less thug.
My prayers to the officer, his friends and family that he recovers quickly.
*** Next, time for our stopover at "Kitten Corner"...

It wasn't me who grabbed the treats.

The kids did fine, with the exception of after dinner, when one of them got onto the stove and brought a bag of treats down and chewed on the bag (didn't get any of the treats).

Yes, it was...I hel...I mean I saw him.

These are the community cat treats, so  there was no rewards coming to our indoor duo.
Other than that, they were as good as gold...just a bit tarnished .

Our furry twosome spent most of the day close by the house, and I didn't have to chase "Tuxedo" away more than twice. Didn't see it the rest of the day either (good).

Yes, I am enjoying the shade, thank you.

With the heat as it was (and the humidity), lugging those fur coats around meant finding some cool, shady spots to take it easy.
I think both of them did okay in that regard.
*** Last back to the umbrella stand...I can see why people are so fed up with crime.

And, I can see that the legal system has been incrementally tying the hands of law-enforcement for the last 70 or so years.
We always are hearing that the perpetrator has rights, almost to the exclusion of the rights of the victim.
That is inherently WRONG.
Sure, everyone has their "rights", as granted first by GOD, and then by our founding documents, but that is not a blank check to cause mayhem in the name of "freedom of speech or expression", does it?

There has to be a limit to this, as dictated by our moral compass and the level of civility we SHOULD exhibit. It's just like those who play music SO damn loud, you can hear it a block or more away.
Sure, you have the right to play your music, but that doesn't mean I have to listen to it (that's why we have headphones). It's called respecting your "fellow man".
This slippery slope has been around for quite some time, and our society has been sliding down it for almost as long.
Where do we draw the line, and should we?

Yes, we need to draw that line, and where we need to draw it is where the rights of one person ends and another person's rights begin.
Typically, this is not a large "sphere of influence" and can be easily accommodated...unless ignorance rears it's head. Seems people don't want to treat OTHERS as they want to be treated.
Sadly, in today's world, and in spite of all the technology at our fingertips, we have an overabundance of ignorance, and it happens to be tempered with an arrogance that is almost beyond measure.
When we, as a society can properly address THAT and then actively choose to DO something about it, things will change (back) for the better.
But until that happens, we can expect only more of the same...for now.
