For those of you who "enjoyed" yesterday to no end, it looks to be a replay of sorts as far as everything goes.
And that means it will be cold, and roads will be less than perfect, and idiots will be TRYING to drive like it's sunny and fair.
(you have been warned)
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us cloudy skies (again, but we might see the sun)) with light lake-effect snow showers during the day (again), with temps rising to only around the upper 20s (again).
For those of us not going anywhere...not a problem, but if you ARE going somewhere, practice caution behind the wheel, expect the unexpected and do dress accordingly.
Now, let's settle back with a nice hot cup of coffee, tea, or cocoa as we take a look at what else has been going on...
*** First out of the bathroom is our WHO SAID THAT? quote for the week:
"Our public school system is our country's biggest and most inefficient monopoly, yet it keeps demanding more and more money."
The mention of the carmakers' monopoly in previous posts is a good starting point when we talk about certain types of CONTROL in this country, and to that, our educational system looks to be ruling the roost.
So, who said that? The answer at the top of tomorrow's post.
Meanwhile, back at Washington University in St. Louis...
*** Next, time for the "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
NOVEMBER 28 -
---It's National French Toast Day
(I know what I'm having for breakfast)
---It's National Package Protection Day
(in our part of town, you almost need an armed guard...or a large dog)
---Oh, and they're lighting the Rockefeller Cernter Christmas tree today...if anyone's interested.
*** Next up, looks like another death investigation takes place in Fort Wayne:
https://www.wane.com/news/local-news/woman-dies-inside-cass-street-home-fwpd-investigate/1620783183
A 33-year-old woman was identified Tuesday as the person found dead in a Cass Street home Monday.
The Allen County coroner said Laura Elizabeth Larkin of Fort Wayne was found dead inside a home in the 2400 block of Cass Street around 1730 hrs. Monday.
The cause and manner of Larkin's death are pending further investigation, the coroner said.
Could this be homicide #44 this year? We shall see.
*** Next, here's some more information on the Thanksgiving triple homicide:
https://www.wane.com/news/local-news/court-docs-thanksgiving-shooting-result-of-robbery-of-marijuana-dealer/1619777863
Yeah, it's nice to know the home invasion took place where pot was being sold...that explains a LOT. (like how a 20 year old can even afford a house - not vetting required).
Guess these young adults were not AS "innocent" as we're led to think.
Still doesn't warrant being murdered, though
*** Next up, finally, a GOOD story about someone who cares more than most:
https://www.wane.com/news/local-news/tony-is-making-fort-wayne-better/1619213158
Clearly, he's NO gangsta, and people where I live could learn a LOT from Tony.
Say what you will, but I think he'd make a better mayor than the one we currently have had for a dozen years. Sorry, did I say that out loud?
*** Next, can we mention so much when it comes to global warming?
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/us/20181126/travel-disrupted-by-midwest-snow
And there's also this:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/us/20181126/snowstorm-batters-parts-of-midwest-100s-of-flights-canceled
I will say that YES...I admit it...our climate DOES change...and much of it is due to factors that mankind cannot (and will never be able to) control.
In fact, I expect our climate to change every day, hour by hour...as it's done for thousands of years.
*** Next up, it's time once again to stop by "Kitten Corner"...
The kids were not all that bad yesterday, but as usual, took to running about after Wifey came home.
And earlier around midday, they had a brief runaround, but with little else to do (even with ALL the toys they have), they took to napping...just like a cat.
Attention span? What attention span? LOL.
*** Next, let's do our daily check-in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
At least one of the shelters got some use (by Whiskers). Midnight prefers to be more of an "outdoorsman", an roughs it under a shrub alongside the patio door.
The blowing snow didn't leave much of a clear spot under the patio table, but I went out late afternoon and swept most of the stuff away.
I don't want them trudging through any snow if they don't have to. I would like to set something up where he nests, but I haven;t got a definitive idea yet. Actually, I'd rather him use one of the shelters (that she curls up inside of).
*** Last back to the linen closet...I want to follow up on our ability to choose, or rather how we are being ALLOWED to choose.
With that in mind, let's start with that word GRATITUDE, and then run from there....
John Stossel had a good column about thankfulness, and it should apply to people today.
https://triblive.com/opinion/featuredcommentary/14328918-74/john-stossel-look-to-pilgrims-for-economics-lesson
((Government can force everyone into the same centrally dictated plan, but in doing so it stifles individual initiative and drive.))
Now, while this (context) applies to economics, it might just as easily apply to a number of other things we've had thrust upon us...lightbulbs, televisions, smartphones, digital everything, automobiles (or the future lack of them)...you name it, and we've been "forced" into acceptance, like it or not.
And most times, it's done through junk science, or subliminal nuance.
Start watching all the "car" commercials from any of the automakers...see many CARS in them? Probably not, but you WILL see a LOAD of crossovers and SUVs. See, these mooks are already at work trying to "change your mind" through advertising...whether you want your mind changed or not.
All that's missing is Pavlov's dog, drooling in our laps when the damn bell rings.
(we might well be taking the place of that canine)

You THINK you do, and you're wrong. |
Yeah...I DO miss THOSE days.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Not arguing the quote, but not sure I agree it is the MOST inefficient...
Man, all that stuff on the toast at ONE time? Even Laurie doesn't do that...
I wouldn't be interested in the RC tree if Rocky himself sprouted out the top! (And he wasn't exactly an angel!)
The best part of that triple killing was that the perp got arrested by being mouthy to the cops when his brother got pulled over! Ever hear of "laying low?" Or maybe catching a newscast to see if your vics survived? Sloppy AND stupid- bad combo in any walk of life, much less the criminal game.
"Not as innocent..." My very first thought. The guy in the yard was supposed to be some kind of Rockefell- um, angel.
I keep laughing as I read articles about ancient species being killed off by climate change before there were factories to "help the process along". And yet, these idiots think "dimming the sun" might help. Just wait till the tribulation when God turns up the thermostat seven times...
Chris:
---Considering the increasing amount of "government" control w/ the educational system, it could be, but it's probably NOT the overall most inefficient, I'll give you that one.
---I just put cinnamon, butter and syrup. That picture had WAY too much for me as well.
---Yeah, it's a bit anticlimactic these days.
---It's just the way such people act these days...NO regard for ANY authority, He needs to watch the Chris Rock video: HOW NOT TO GET YOUR ASS KICKED...LOL!
---The "friends" the media interviewed clued me in as to what the people in that house "could" be up to...observing people - never gets old (just more predictable).
---Species were dying off and taking the "extinct Express" outta town since LONG before we thatched our first hut and laid our first brick.
---Dimming the sun will only make things colder. Maybe if we had more plants and trees (stop paving paradise for parking lots) to suck up the excess CO2, that could work.
Then again, how do these experts plan to stop the earth from wobbling or keep the moon from moving away from us, or halt those solar flares and CMEs?
Now THAT I REALLY want to see!
Thanks for taking time to drop by and comment.
Much appreciated.
Stay safe (and always on top of current events) up there, brother.
