Well, at least we don't have any SNOW coming down this morning.
It's still a bit on the cool side, however.
But, I hear we are starting to warm up.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us partly cloudy skies, temps reaching to around 45 degrees, and light breezes.
Might steal a sunrise out of this, which means we could say it's partly sunny as well.

So, let's take a moment to get ourselves a cup, glass or mug of our favorite beverage, as we see what's been going on elsewhere...

Funny thing, the subject of his column is being put down by those fostering "social justice" and race has much to do with it this time...she's not Caucasian (and her own people turn against her).

*** Next up, it's THAT time again (no, not baseball season)...it's TAX TIME.

But it's not JUST income taxes. Here's the story:

Yep, the good old property tax bill will soon be arriving in mailboxes, and for us, down in the ghettohood, it's one of those bills we actually can't wait to pay.
And why is that, you ask?
Because the bill has been SO LOW for years, thanks to the mook, morons, and maladjusted human flotsam that have taken our neighborhood into Dante's Inferno and as a result, caused property values to tank.
Who says these people DON'T have a purpose...it's to save US money (at the cost of having to deal with these idiots daily).

People like THIS Keep MY taxes LOW.

It's a marvelous trade-off, I suppose, but one which didn't really have to happen.
It was fine to pay around $700 a year in property taxes, because it was WAY lower than a row-house in Philly, which was half the size of this single family home (and 2 car detached garage). We paid around $1100 bucks back there.

As does crap like THIS...

Now, we don't even pay $200 a year...that's how much difference we see.
Just another way the city loses money...weird, isn't it?
*** Next, time to stop on by our "Kitten Corner"...

Our "kids" did okay yesterday...while he spent some of the day doing his window thing, she just took things easy (as I like to do these days). Later in the evening, they both come in the living room, as I watch television, with him in my chair, and she curling up at my feet on the sofa.
I kinda feel bad for Wifey, because she's in the family room by herself.

"I'm just watchin' her watchin' you."

Our male cat might climb on Wifey for a time, and do the rubbing thing, but he eventually comes into the living room.
Guess the cats don't like the Bravo channel all that much...and who can blame them...LOL.
*** Next up, let's take time to check in with "Midnight and Company"...

Out furry twosome also did fine yesterday, in spite of the crazy-ass morning weather. Guess they're both wondering when the snow is going to stop for the season. Won't be too long now (we hope).

Making sure I get the mail safely.

Had to feed them under the table in the morning, but by afternoon, Midnight was back UP on the table for his food.
Whiskers is content to get her food period...doesn't matter where, but she does prefer on the ground.

Wifey got some good photos.

And when it came time for last call (after 1800 hrs)...well, Wifey had her camera (phone) at the ready for the "fun"...lol.
These two love those treats, and I get a kick out of feeding them.
*** Last back to the laundry room...I want to pick up where I left off with the whole responsibility gig.

Must be Father's Day in SE Ft. Wayne.

If you look at the police reports I post here each week, you will find them FULL of irresponsible people. They're the ones who (falsely) labor under the assumption that our laws do NOT apply to them, hence a lack of responsible behavior.
There is one "exception" to that, however...whenever a crime is committed, THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE...lol.

Amazing how such irony comes back to bite such people in their asses, isn't it?
And maybe that's why the rest of us tend to avoid the travails that are associated with criminal behavior.

Let's face facts here...if someone runs a red light, was the CAR at fault, or was it the one whose foot was on the gas pedal?
If a school gets shot up, was the GUN at fault, or was it the person wielding it?
And, if a child dies at the hand of some boyfriend who was "supposed" to be babysitting that child, was it in any way the fault OF that child, or the person charged with watching it?
This is simple stuff to figure out, and yet, people still try to shirk their responsibilities.
If you drive a vehicle, you have chosen to ACCEPT the responsibility that comes with it.
Of you own a firearm, the same thing applies.
And, if you have a child to take care of, you certainly have a responsibility to that child first, as well as to yourself AS the caretaker.
Most everything in life requires some level of responsibility and with that, comes the proper choices that have to be made.

Without that, you can't expect life to run itself and do things for you...can you?
Yet, there are those who try...and fail.
Lesson to be learned there, right?
