Tuesday Tidbits...

Well, the initial report to yesterday's high temperature was off...a little.
LIKE 10 DEGREES!
We topped out at NINETY-SEVEN degrees (thankfully, it was on the FAHRENHEIT SCALE).
Today looks to allow us a bit of a break...but not all that much, so be warned and mindful of such outdoor conditions and activities.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us mostly sunny skies, temps reaching to about 93 degrees, and increasing clouds with showers rolling in my late night (so they are telling us).

Now, without any further ado, let's get that refreshing drink to hydrate us, as we see what else has been going on (and I tackle mowing the side lawn - wish me luck there)...

*** Next , it's time to stop on by our "Kitten Corner"...

Yesterday was one of those "LETHARGY REIGNS" days with our indoor cats.
Even with the central A/C in, they did very little all day.

I guess they figure it's better to "store up" as much energy as possible for a more important day.
"They ate, they drank, they slept...they made their ancestors proud"...LOL.
Hey, come to think of it, I also like doing those things.

Our furry twosome spent a lot of the day AWAY from the patio. They wee both here for breakfast and lunch, but as soon as they ate, off they went to wherever they go.

Comfy grass...wake me when the food's ready.

Whiskers did hang out in a shady part of the garden near the garage (smart girl), but Midnight went AWOL someplace else. And with the numbnut drivers speeding about, I worry with him being affected by the heat to where he's not as "fleet of paw" as he is when it's more comfortable.

At least the WATER is cool.

I don't think either of them will find a more inviting and caring place than ours.
(the food's free, as is the water, the shelters and a whole lotta love)

And yes, we are getting hummingbirds at the feeders. A bit early but welcome.

*** Last back to the sunburn palace...I had a fair amount of disgust over the way our "locals" spent Memorial Day.

It's like any other day to them...they STILL acted the exact same way as if it were a regular day, and that should bother a lot of people (obviously not any of them).

I had to call the FWPD TWICE to have some loud music turned down (or off), because I could hear it IN our house...with the A/C on, the TV playing, and the radio also on.
Dispatch wanted an address, but I couldn't give them one. I did provide an intersection nearby that could be a great starting point for any officer riding by. I told dispatch: "I don't plan to take my life in my hands and walk about the neighborhood looking for the actual house the thumping music is coming from...it's too hot out".

Well, after 2 calls in, I still heard music, and that bugs me, because it's the small crap like THIS that eventually leads to the BIG crap...like HOMICIDES, because if you allow bad behavior on a small scale and not hold people to the laws or ordinances YOU create, you're opening the door for them to try to see how much MORE they can get away with.
And believe you me, the mooks down here LIVE for that kinda stuff.
This city needs to address all the small "broken windows" they have, so they can get a better handle on the LARGE broken windows that are occurring more regularly...
Look at the police report above. That's only SOME of the stuff going on (the worst of the lot), and it just keeps coming.
If we're ALL allowed to live in a FREE country, then "the laws must apply to EVERYONE...or they mean NOTHING" at all.

But I didn't say that first. Someone named James T. Kirk did back in the late 60s (The Omega Glory episode)
Sometimes, if we're fortunate...art DOES imitate life, even if it takes several decades.
