Thoughts For Thursday...

We're going to have to endure another day of the hot and humid outside.
Seems Summer does NOT want to let go of the Midwest...but it sure beats having to have 100+ temperatures outside 8 months out of the year like in the southwest (no thank you).
Fall is still slated to get here this weekend, so hang in there, folks.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us partly sunny skies to begin with, and then more clouds move in this afternoon (could a chance of rain be in the offing?). Temps will rise into the low 90s today (could set  a record), so take it easy out there this afternoon.

Now, with that settled, let's see about some internal hydration with a refreshing drink to start the day, hmm?

Glenn Beck got me started on this (very good program yesterday), and he's right!

Glenn talked about Bert and Ernie being just a (puppet) version of (the recently late Neil Simon's) THE ODD COUPLE - two friends who live together (and are not gay). Correct again.
Bert and Ernie showed to kids that people who are different in demeanor (and lifestyles) CAN be best friends anyway...what the hell's wrong with that?

And who should know more about Bert and Ernie than the person who created them, hmm?
I think all these people who have nothing better to do than create and foster an atmosphere of nit-picking false incluusivity in this country (to borrow from a famous feline) "...should be drug out into the street and shot".

I hear what I want to hear...like when food comes.

The kids did well yesterday. And I really don't think Violet is deaf...when I jingle my keys, she turns and looks at me. And when a boom car drives by, she alerts to that. I think she just hears when SHE wants to...very selective.

I hear cat snoring...wonder why?

Gallifrey just naps through most of this. He just gets selectively hungry several times a day...lol.
*** Next, let's check in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...

He misses out on lunch...more for me.

The furry duo were at it again...he went on patrol and came back a little before dinnertime, while she spent the day on the patio (and got a good lunch in the deal).
I'll bet his patrols get shorter when it gets colder..just have a feeling.
Still, there's nothing like watching the sun get low in the sky while feeding these two some treats.

I'm here for last-call treats, aren't I?

I think we ALL look forward to that.

*** Last back to the couch...you can describe the times in which we currently live in many ways.

Perilous, interesting, dangerous, deceitful, un-American, and the list goes on.
I don't know about you, but I'm still waiting for those "better" times we were once promised.
Been waiting for a while now...still not seeing it.
Sure, we conquered polio, and some other diseases, and we've supposedly made other stuff "better".
But, were such things actually better for US...or better for those making them (as in profitable to just those people)?
That's the $64,000 dollar question, isn't it?
Some things have been made easier, or so we're led to believe.
Telephones have become everything but "just" a phone...new tech lightbulbs last at least 10 times longer than the old ones.

Cars have become rolling computers, and computers have become almost passe`, considering everything else has the elements of computing attached to (or nestled inside) them. Even televisions and appliances have become "smart" (many times more so than the owners...lol).
Too much today is not what it used to be, and I really miss that.

We've changed too much in too little time, and any adapting we do is often "on the fly".
(or in my case, I adapt at my OWN speed, and not at the pace we're supposed to follow)
There will come a time when "everything old is new again"...it always does.
Better times today? Not so much. Easier times? Yes, but we all must proceed with caution.
Remember that easier is not always better, but better becomes easier.
