Friday Follies...

Believe it or not, we might experience a taste if fall today.
It's a wee bit on the brisk side out there this morning. I love it like this.
The air actually smells good.
Here's hoping we can enjoy this (before someone comes along and screws it up), right?
Our Hoosierland weather brings us some showers for part of the morning (which part is anyone's guess), Our expected high today will only reach to the upper 60s, so we won;t be dealing with the heat (just humidity).

Now, what say we get that  glass, cup, or mug of Friday Fortitude poured and parked close-at-hand, as we see what else has been (and will be) going on...hmm?

The "children" were very well behaved yesterday, and that means no wrestling events to speak of. There was just a whole lot of "grooming the sibling" and snoozing time.
And a few times during the day, I had to LOOK for them, to make sure things were okay.
Apparently, they were when it was time to eat. They seemed to come out of the woodwork...lol.

I don't haz to run across streets for my food.

Our furry twosome had another good day also.
Midnight was MIA for lunch (getting used to that now), while Whiskers stayed around all day, and remained cute.
When it was time for last call treats, I crinkled the bag, and he lived up to his nickname (Black Lightning) as I saw him dash from across the street, up our lawn and through the gate without missing a beat...!

NOW he tells me...(whew)

He wouldn't HAVE to do that...IF he stayed near our house.
*** Last back to the time vortex...this weekend marks a change in the Doctor Who universe...a FEMALE Doctor.

Now, while change is fine in the realm of science fiction (to a degree, mind you), some things , in my opinion need to remain the same (again, to a degree).
I take exception with the writer of this story, because he says we've had a female time lord before (Master/Missy),

Yet, he fails to mention ROMANA (from the Tom baker - 4th Doctor years) who was a female time "lady", if you will. And SHE regenerated from one actress into another a (Mary Tamm into Lalla Ward...look it up).

I know some people will enjoy this new direction for Doctor Who.
I'm reserving my thoughts on this, simply because I've never come across a female "lord" in any fashion.
This is just like having comicdom change the sexes of our superheroes recently.
At least Star Trek was ahead of the curve when they created a show WITH a female captain (Voyager), which did extremely well..
Personally, there ARE some things in life that should NOT be changed at all, like our PRINCIPLES...or VALUES...or love of country...or fear and love of God...or yes, even our favorite Time Lord.
No more change for change sake. It's not really doing any good any longer to anyone.
Just allow those of us who enjoy a bit of escapism, our own time and space.
