Thoughts For Thursday...
Always nice to wake up and go outside toi find conditions more on the tropical side...in October...(not).
Definitely muggy out there, but in OUR part of town, "muggy" can occur at any time. Just ask the perps...heh.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us cloudy skies (as we dry out from overnight showers), temps actually DROPPING throughout the day to about 68 degrees, and the sun making a rather tardy appearance by the afternoon.
(guess it's not ALL bad, is it?)
So, let's get that first refreshing drink of the day poured, as we start things up and advance into this day.
*** First off of the front steps is the answer to yesterday's WHO SAID THAT? quote:
"Concern yourself more with accepting responsibility than with assigning blame. Let the possibilities inspire you more than the obstacles discourage you."
This was spoken by another person I have only featured here once before...Ralph Marston, who does not have a WIKI, but like I said back in 2016...neither do WE, right?
You can find out about him HERE, however:
http://greatday.com/ralph/personal.html
And also here:
http://greatday.com/nmot/ralph.html
If more people in the world were like Ralph, we might be able to have a much better planet in our hands.
*** Next up, time for the "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
OCTOBER 4 -
---It's National Golf Lover's Day
(not interested in the least)
---It's National Taco Day
(on a Thursday? I thought it was always Tuesday?
---It's National Vodka Day
(I might have to take them up on THAT one this morning)
*** Next, here's another instance of cooking at a completely WRONG time of day:
https://www.wane.com/news/local-news/fire-at-fort-wayne-home-forces-evacuation-early-wednesday/1494241669
This took place in the  1400 block of Winter Street around 0330 hrs.
People living inside the home self-evacuated.
Fire officials said a grease fire started in the kitchen (residents say the stove-top caught fire) and spread to the cabinets.
Another dumbass cooking at 3 AM,. Stupid is as stupid does.
I'm shaking my head (again) over this one.
*** Next up, Indiana' I-STEP+ scores are in:
http://www.journalgazette.net/article/20181003/WEB/181009974
Well, the good news is that not much has changed in scores, so I take that to mean that we STILL kinda suck.
For ALL the money being dumped in school systems (per student), you'd think we'd all get a better return than a mere 20% passing...right?
We should never be content with settling for mediocrity.
*** Next, another "uh-oh" moment in my book with Part 2 of this "master-plan" for Fort Wayne:
https://wpta21.com/news/top-stories/2018/10/03/greater-fort-wayne-inc-leader-pushing-hard-for-regional-cities-round-two/
Something about this Eric Doden that just makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
It would seem that Greater Fort Wayne Inc runs the city and our "king" does their bidding.
Are they doing any good? Well, that's for the taxpayers to decide.
Remember, nothing ever gets done on the south side. I don't  forget such things easily
*** Next up, and speaking of criminal activity, a  woman has her car stolen from her own driveway. Here's the story:
https://www.wane.com/news/local-news/fort-wayne-woman-s-car-stolen-from-driveway/1496348350
This took place in the Indian Village area along Nuttman Ave Monday.
Yeah, it's SUPPOSED to be a good neighborhood...don't EVER take that for granted.
I hope she gets her car back intact.
*** Next, a South Carolina standoff ends with 1 officer killed and several injured.
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/us/20181004/1-officer-killed-6-hurtin-s-carolina-standoff
Wifey's got family in that area, and they wee not involved or injured in any way, but it wa a bit of a scare.
Just goes to show that "crazy" can occur anywhere at any time.
My prayers go out to the fallen officers and their families.
*** Next up, time to take things a bit easier with a stop at "Kitten Corner"...
The kids were taking a day off from the "wrestling", but still had some time to run around a bit and play with a few toys.
And, I enjoyed the obligatory "follow daddy around" several times, so I had to keep watch that no one got "under foot".
All in all, not a bad day for cats or people here.
*** Next, let's do our check-on with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
Well, the furry duo didn't miss any meals (he was late for lunch as usual). She stayed around all day and after he came back, hung out on the patio or between the garage and house on the concrete (it was rather warm).
And, they got the hand held treats as a good finish to the day.
Again, a good day for all concerned.
*** Last back to the family room...you ever wake up and find out you have a "project" staring you in the face?
Usually, it's something you DIDN'T plan on doing, but there it is.
I've got one this morning. A bi-fold closet door in the kitchen has hinge problems in that two of them pulled out from the door, so it doesn't close (or does with great difficulty).
Well, we can't have that, can we?
The down side to this, is that I have to make the repairs from INSIDE the closet (how fun it that?).
...And home-maintenance.
I just don't feel like removing the doors from the top track to make the repair easier, because I don't know if I'll be able to get them back ON the tracks when I'm finished.
Yeah...it's a PROJECT.
Luckily, we're not using the closet right now (winter coat storage thing), so that's a relief.
Still, it's hard to plan for something that "just pops up", sin;t it?
Like a thumb-drive that works one minute, then fails the next.
It's another study in patience, no doubt.
So, I will seek the Lord on this one, and together we will get through this.
After all, it never hurts to have someone working WITH you whenever you tackle ANY task, does it?
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

So I read the quote and thought, "Crap, did I miss Bobby's blog yesterday?"

No, just zoned right past the quote. A shame too, because it would have been a good prelude to the daily "God says" for today...

Interesting. Wonder if he's still UMC with all the crap going down in that denomination?

I had pizza...

Perhaps not cooking at 3, maybe "cooking at 11 and never got the burner all the way off..."

"We should never be content with settling for mediocrity." Then stop teaching to tests.

Doden= shadow rulers of Allen County?

"Left the keys inside..." Who does that anymore?

Police shooting: Just another way satan makes it hard to have that mercy we're supposed to have...

Tomorrow's lead: "Bob comes out of the closet." lol!

Yeah, Ralph Marston is someone you'd like to know.
(and he's not to be confused with the footballer w/ the '29 Boston Bulldogs).
---I made a poor man's "hoagie" - lunch meats, cheeses, mayo, oregano on a roll.
---I dunno with some people...they get an "urge" and give in to it, sometimes VERY late at night (early morning)...then again, many of them (around here) don't even fall asleep until 4AM (that's what happens when the government sponsors you and you choose not to work).
---They just will NOT listen to me...lol.
---BINGO! You nailed that one...the city's "puppet-masters" if you will.
---I guess those who get distracted easily? It happens (yes, even to me once...JUST...ONCE). I'll have to tell you THAT tale someday.
---"As long as there's mercy", said the Doctor.
(I SO agree with your call on the evil one))
---LMAO...already came out...and guess what? I did not "become" GAY!
(talk about revelatory)

Thanks much for stopping by to comment.

Stay safe up there, brother.
