30 October 2018

Tuesday Tidbits...
How about that...no rain for the time being. That should make life a bit easier to take today.
(I was getting a bit bored with all the wet anyway, as were the community cats we care for)
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us partly to mostly cloudy skies, breezy conditions, with temps climbing to about 65 degrees.
(no, don't go and break out the shorts and tank tops)
So, how about we get settled in with a nice refreshing drink as we ease ourselves into this Tuesday while we take a look at what else is going on...shall we?
*** First out of the kitchen sink is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
OCTOBER 30 -
---It's National Candy Corn Day
(hate it, but it DOES make great slingshot ammo...lol)
---It's National Publicist Day
(yeah, get me two of those...not!)
---It's Speak Up For Service Day
(and if YOU don't...who will?)
*** Next up, and because it IS a Tuesday, let's take a look at ALL the important FWPD calls that went out last week that we didn't hear anything about...and should ahve:
Shots fired...punk!

NONE?!?
WTH is up with THIS?
Must have been an OFF week.
Did all the criminals suddenly vanish? I wouldn't make book on that just yet.
*** Next, has Michigan found a real plan to address urban crime?)
https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/they-look-like-cops-but-theyre-not-and-theyre-all-over-michigan/ar-BBOWPbG?ocid=spartanntp
Unlicensed civilians serving as volunteer "reserve officers" across the state...how novel.
They don't ALL chase down bad guys.
So far, there's about 3,000 of them, and yes, they're (legally) armed.
The main sticking point to all this is the lack of what some are calling standards.
Technically, it IS way cheaper than the cost of a (proper) LEO.
If people WANT to do this...God bless 'em.
In Fort Wayne, we're not quite THERE yet, but we also have people "on the streets".
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/20181029/patrolling-streets-in-prayer
*** Next up,  another excellent Ben Shapiro column at The Daily Wire:
https://www.dailywire.com/news/37703/media-tout-jewish-leaders-pittsburgh-telling-trump-ben-shapiro
Yep, those "Jewish leaders"  that don't want our president to visit those injured in the synagogue shootings are not who they appear to be.
You are going to LOVE who is funding these progressive activists
And the best part is that various "news" sources just ran with their headlines, rather than delve into WHO this group really is all about and WHAT their agenda REALLY is.
While I wouldn't say that those sources are touting "fake" news (per se), they ARE fostering MISLEADING news.
*** Next up, time to drop by our "Kitten Corner"...
Yo, what are YOU doing out THERE?
The kids were in fine form yesterday. And even with the moisture outside, there was some bird-watching to be had, and the various times set aside for napping.
And we did try something new...I tried to had feed treats to our kids...and was partially successful.
Gallifrey figured out what I was holding and after a few failed attempts, got the hang of it.
Did someone say "treats"?
Violet just sniffed and then backed away, like she wanted it placed on the floor (which I did).
We'll keep plugging away and hopefully,. we'll get them on the same page os thier outdoor counterparts.
*** Next, let's do our check-in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
Yay...more free grub and lots of love.
And speaking of our furry twosome, they were in attendance for ALL three meals yesterday, and even made it for treats-time. Now THESE two will willingly take from your fingers...no problem with that.
I can get both of them to sit up for the treats.
I ONLY sit up for treats, got that?
Luckily, the rain had sopped by the time dinner and treats rolled around, so it was easy. And Wifey and I got to spend some "back steps" time with both of them (and they got more treats).
Yeah, they look forward to that...for now. Wait until it's REALLY cold out.
*** Last back to the garbage disposal...in case you were wondering, we ARE being pulled in a myriad of directions.
Lemme go already!
(it's like being Stretch Armstrong...you remember that toy?)
I talked about such things YEARS ago here, and after all that time, we're no better off, it would seem.
We are STILL being distracted and by even more things, not the least of which is our technologies.
What we all need to be aware of, is that not everyone can see through this crap and WANT to find the truth as to what really matters in the world these days. Some choose to just run with whatever is coming down the pike, and not paying attention to all the things they SHOULD be paying attention to.
(that's how people get run over along our streets...lack of attention).
Granted it gets a little more difficult to pay attention, with the increasing amount of distractions today, but I look at such things as challenges, and not as the impediments many would want us to believe.
Not good...even for New Zealand.
Everyone should be wanting to get their heads out of the sand (or wherever else they happen to have placed it), because an uninformed and distracted public is a LOT more prone to "suggestion" and becomes more malleable, which means they can be molded into whatever those who wish to control us (and change the face of our society, culture and country) desire.
Sorry, that's not a good vision for our nation...and never should be.
We all should want a better country, become a better people, and desire a better future, and we can't achieve any of that if we're not focused on that which requires our attention. We do have to make the attempt, however.
Be well, make a difference to someone today, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

I swear, I darn near forgot again today! Doing M10 and 6D stuff, getting IMed from my partner at work, (Boss for some reason wants her to pass junk fabric), trying to get Mr Let-me-sit-next-to-Daddy-and-fart to go take a dump... Calgon, take me away!!!

Am I the only one in the world that doesn't HATE candy corn? Not saying I'd choose it, but don't hate it...

"Patrolling the streets in prayer"- not a bad concept... but seems to me it's a bit "watch me do this" for God to respond...

Okay... there's the M10... one less worry down... now we need help with whatever it is that died in the conduits in or near the downstairs bathroom... so far has laughed at everything I've thrown at it... gimme strength!

Scrappy has always been super good with treats. But, he's a dog.

Ha ha! After all my bitching here, the Stretch Armstrong thing! LOLOL!

Chris:
---I swear too, but only because I know ALL the words and definitely when necessary.
---Sounds like you got a full boat of "stuff".
---I only remember going UPSTAIRS to your bathroom..you have another one?
---For some reason, dogs tend to be MUCH better with learning how to be given hand held treats. SO far, I've got 2 1/2 out of 4 cats that figured this out...lol.
---Good old "Stretch"...yes, we wind up becoming what we used to play with as kids...amazing, huh?

Hey, thanks for swinging on by today and commenting.

Stay safe (and less stressed) up there, brother.
