Tuesday Tidbits...
Ahh, the rain has returned, but it looks to be a "milder" rain, which is better than those cold, soaking ones. Naturally, the rains come when the leaves are due to be picked up. Well, I did some raking yesterday, so no real harm there.
Our community cats will not be loving this...another day being fed UNDER the patio table.
The Hoosierland weather for today brings us (what else)...RAIN through midday, which means CLOUDY skies. Temps will be falling during the day, from a high this morning in the upper 50s down to the mid-40s by sunset. Going to have some GUSTY winds (30+ MPH) added to the mix. Light jacket weather for sure, so yes, do take the umbrella. Oh, and be sure to drive safely out there...loads of wet leaves do not a good drive make. It can be as slick as snot on a doorknob on the roads.
Now, with that over with, let's take to getting a nice refreshing drink to start the day, as we see what else has been going on...
*** First out of the litter pan is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
NOVEMBER 6 -
---It's National Nachos Day
(never a big fan of those and one reason I no longer go to movie theaters. That's NOT movie house food, you dumbasses! Save it for the living rooms.)
---It's National Saxophone Day
(blow 'em 'ya got 'em)
*** Next, and since it IS a Tuesday, let's take a peek at all the FWPD calls that went out last week...that we NEVER heard anything about...and should have:

((Well, there's TWO assholes that came out from under their rocks))
*** Next up, "Da Prez" came by the Summit City early last evening, and let me start by saying that I was outside waiting for a flyover from AIR FORCE ONE, as it came into our airport...NEVER HAPPENED. They must have flown in using a southern approach.

That bugged me. The ONE plane I WANTED to overfly us low...didn't. But everyone else seems to have no problem with flying too low over our houses...go figure.
Anyway, I watched the speech president Trump made, and I have to say that even I was impressed. That's hard for ANY politician to accomplish (for me).
And yes, we had the obligatory protesters across the street. The speech was disupted a couple times, and each person was "escorted" outside.
Sure, his speech had the usual bluster attached to it, but that's who he is. What you see is what you get (and he makes no apologies for it).
I'd rather have someone a bit rough around the edges who tells things as they are, than someone too prim and too proper who talks out of both sides of their mouth. Had my fill of those people in my life.
Give me someone who pushes back against those wanting to bury our nation and change it into something it was never meant to become.
Call me old-fashioned along those lines, but I happen to still like this nation just fine.
(although a few tweaks here and there never hurts)
*** Next, and changing gears (pun intended), are we witnessing the end of the V8 engine?
Here's a link to fill in the blanks:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/autos-sports/is-this-the-end-of-the-v8-engine/ar-BBPnArb?ocid=spartanntp#image=BBPnArb_1|12
Pretty good and concise history of this engine which happened to power my first TWO cars.
My 1968 Buick had the venerable GM 350 CID V8, while my 1975 Torino had Ford's 351 CID "Windsor" V8 engine.
The former Wifeymobile (1996 Caprice Classic) had a GM 4.3L V8 under the hood, and her 1989 Caprice had another "350" under the hood, and I admit to missing the "off the line" power all those cars had.
The Wifeymobile 2.0 (2015 Impala) has a mere 2.5L (inline) 4 cylinder powerplant.
The Firebird as a 2.8L V6 under the hood...(0-60 in 10 seconds)...works well enough, as I never planned to enter any speed competitions.
Funny thing though, Wifey's 4-banger engine has 80 MORE horsepower than my V6...that's progress for 'ya.
I guess not all is lost, however...when it comes to a V8...we STILL have the tomato drink...
Small compensation that it is.
*** Next up, time to stop by "Kitten Corner"...
Okay, so when DO the birds show up, anyway?
The kids got a bit bored with watching birds yesterday (granted there wasn't many coming by), and they also got bored with chasing one another around (that was a godsend), so what does a young cat do then?
Hope she doesn't fall off the box.
Why...NAP, of course...lol.
You nap until it's time to eat, and then nap afterwards...helluva rough life, isn't it?
*** Next, let's check in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
Our furry duo managed to attend all three meals, hand-held treats time and even the back step treats later on.
That was pretty cool to not have to worry about where they roamed off to and when they'll be back.
One thing I do know...they were NOT responsible for dumping a pumpkin over our fence into the back yard near our gate.
Our place is NOT the local dump, you jerks!
But I fixed that problem by pulling a page from recent rock groups...(smashing pumpkins). I returned it to our alley, where the local mooks can drive over it to their heart's content. Sure, dump your refuse on the white guy's property...(assholes)!
*** Last back to the scratching post...it is the mid-term election day in our country, and like any other election day, we'll be hearing about problems with the voting systems.
That's what you get with the technologies we use (now) to choose our candidates who will REPRESENT US in whatever office WE elect them to.
In the "old days" the voting machines were strictly mechanical...ergo, fewer problems, but today, a computer glitch can shut down a polling location faster than you can imagine.
I look at such things as a microcosm of what we've created in the world today...societies dependent upon technology to make things better (and easier). Can you say "OOPS"?
If we had LESS problems with the old way of voting...why don't we stick with it? Good question. I suppose that change is what is alleged to make mankind progress. That doesn't always wash for me.
It's like that ever shrinking number of V8 engines being made. Soon, they will become more the curiosity than practical (which they still are).
I would advise that when people vote, they vote not as much with their heart, but rather to use that hat rack on their shoulders...use your BRAIN. After all, it's what God gave it to you for, right?
That's what we're tasked with in life...making the best choices that we can.
Today should be no different.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

(remember to vote early and vote often...lol)

Nachos- when I'm in the mood, and they're nice and gooey. But yeah, pretty stupid in theaters and libraries.

I see somebody on South Park has a fascination with loud noises...

Airport and Piper- at Arden Companies? Too bad all the vic I would have suggested have been canned by now...

Hopefully the shooter at 4000 South Park was shooting at the perv at 3600...

I think my daughter and my nephew went to see trump. I'm too allergic to big crowds, and when they said the Coliseum lots were full an hour before he touched down...

V8s- fun while they lasted... our old Impala ss (1967) had a 327 small block... best car I ever drove to this day.

Maybe it was from a pumpkin chunkin gone awry?

...In LIBRARIES? You have GOT to be kidding me, right?
(yeah, you're kidding)
---Really? They MUST live here in the OFF SEASON...lol.
(or, they should MOVE here. They'd be RIGHT at home!)
---Unemployed AND still vicious...bad combination.
---We can only hope (but considering ALL the domestics down here...you never can tell). Seems to be the best way pass all the time they have on their primate hands.
---I'm also not the large crowd type any longer. The ONLY crowds I will find myself amongst can be found at a good SCI-FI (or comic) CON!
---The small blocks were TOPS. GM's 327 and 350 and Ford's 289 and 302 could roll 2+ tons of car down a highway at "double-nickel" speed and never a hiccup. Great power there.
---No, it was from some minority racist who dislikes whites (and the fences they have up to keep their property and possessions THEIR OWN).

Hey, thanks much for stopping by and commenting today.
(you must have thought yesterday was Friday, though,...HA!)

Stay safe (and keep warm) up there, brother.
