Our nice weather continues today, but there is a change in the air a'comin'...by tomorrow.
The good news is that it's not snow.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us partly cloudy skies (or partly sunny - your choice), with an increase of those clouds as the day comes to an end later on.
Temps will top out around the 60 degree mark, and no winds to speak of.
So, with that dispensed with, let's get that comforting drink poured and parked nearby, as we see what else has been happening...
*** First out of the linen closet is our WHO SAID THAT? quote for the week:
"Liberal progressivism evolved after our Constitution. It has repeatedly failed all over the world so why do we think it could be successful here in the United States of America?"
Can't say I find this quote/question NOT important in today's America...and why aren't more of us asking it?
So, who said that? The answer at the top of tomorrow's post.
Meanwhile, back in Atlanta Georgia...
*** Next, let's look at our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
APRIL 3 -
---It's the Childhelp National Day of Hope
(child abuse is on the rise in Indiana...not good)
---It's National Film Score Day
(and there are a lot of great ones out there, if you look for them)
---It's National Tweed Day
(wear it if 'ya got it)
---It's National Walking Day
(tomorrow may be too soggy)
---It's National Chocolate Mousse Day
(you had me at chocolate)
---It's National Find a Rainbow Day
(might be easier tomorrow if the sun comes out)
*** Next up, this was no April Fool's joke for one person:
https://wpta21.com/news/top-stories/2019/04/02/two-in-custody-after-monday-night-pursuit/
Helluva park job, kids. |
Two juveniles bailed,. but were caught a short time after.
These car thieves are getting younger, aren't they? Guess wanting t stay in school wasn't an option for these two (who are MOST likely black).
*** Next...not enough fun? How about THIS story:
https://www.wane.com/news/crime/man-charged-with-kidnapping-gas-station-clerk-at-knife-point/1893086958
This took place at Phil's One Stop at 2607 Goshen Ave, around 2300 hrs Saturday night, where a male black took a gas station attendant hostage at knife-point, and brought her back to his apartment. Ronnie McKinney, 57 is the perp being charged.
The woman managed to get away, contact police and get McKinney arrested.
The father of the perp said "I'm surprised, He broke my heart. I've always told him to be responsible and do right. I didn't think anything like this would ever happen."
Yeah, well, when you allow your (middle-aged) son to get SO damn drunk he wants to act like the criminal he has become, what can you expect? How's about we get these animals OFF our street to avoid such situations like this, hmm?
Personally, I think this person has mental issues, and should get an evaluation. He was living in a barn-apartment behind his Dad's house.Dad didn't want him in the house?
*** Next up, the latest homicide victim has been ID'ed:
http://www.journalgazette.net/news/local/police-fire/20190403/chicago-man-23-idd-in-homicide
This was the Harrison St. dead male found Monday.
Darius McMorris of Chicago died from gunshot wounds.
*** Next, time to drop on by our "Kitten Corner"...
"I iz too cute to be so bad." |
Good thing it didn't come of of the table.
Looking for "divine intervention"? |
*** Next up, let's do our check in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
"The next best thing to being an indoor cat." |
They were both here for all three meals, but when it came to after dinner treats,Midnight was there, but Whiskers was MIA.
"Well...she's not hiding in the fire pit." |
*** Last back to the medicine chest... what passes for our neighborhood always seems to be in a state of change (not for the better).
And yesterday, I decided to help that along. I dropped a couple dimes to parking control to rid us of various vehicles that have been ignored by their "owners".
Sure, just leave it there. |
Oops, left it there too long...lol. |
Some vehicles sit for WEEKS, if not months. |
And, we have the person across the street from us who just moved out. The start of any month is the time for that around here.
Don't forget to ghetto up the curb with trash. |
I'm betting that this Latina will be replaced with another. That seems to eb the case with these rentals...no race-crossing allowed.
Yep, it's kinds like THAT. |
Sorry...not seeing it. But ti does help to bring down the values of whatever neighborhoods such tactics are permitted.
I'd love to see that kind of stuff (and the people behind it) just go away.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Well, finally here after ONLY commenting on your blog yesterday and playing catch up, what with the A to Z challenge (still need a topic for my 2-part mashup coming soon), and all. But at least dinner is in the books, er, stomach, and I have a 45-minute window of peace, so...
I just read an interesting Bible Study by Congressional chaplin Chuck Drollinger that brought up how much of our current mess stems from the "social gospel" that started in the early century past. The prob is so many politicians followed the "SG" version of what government should be (Give give give, support and tax) instead of the simple principles the NT put out for government. Thus, we have entitlement programs draining our treasury instead of the Govt helping individual citizens and groups to BE ABLE to support that burden, as they should.
Tweed: Just was reminded today of that awful tweed looking Sunbrella crap fabric we used to have to make boats and canopies out of for Premier. Way too thick, would NOT come off a roll straight, looked a lot like repurposed hallway carpet... but I digress.
Walking: Got that in. Scrappy's currently snoring it off.
OGODOGODOGOD I WANT A CHOC MOUSSE!!!!!!
Find a rainbow..." and they'll likely be an LGBTQ under it..."
A F D joke: Well, at least they didn't hit a Golden Corral...
And that's the station by work that I often stop for a Pepsi Zero on the way in...
I heard about the Great Cord Caper. Maybe little kitty treadmills would help...
Whiskers: "Sorry, I had a date last night..."
We just had a couple of cars down the way that got "final warning"ed for flat tires. One now has a semi-inflated tire... the other one, poof!
Chris:
SO, it was a busy day then.
---"Social Gospel"...yeah, definitely sounds like something to AVOID.
The NT aspect to government is more akin to what the founders had in mind (at least it sure seemed that way).
---It probably WAS carpet...or sport coats for liberal professors...heh.
---Good for you (and Scrappy).
---I hear 'ya there!
---LOL...I didn't think of THAT!
---NO, that's on tomorrow's platter.
---Yeah, seems to be popular with the WRONG people, too. Be careful there.
---Or perhaps cat-size HAMSTER BALLS...!
---Seems she has a "date" today as well (worries the hell outta me).
---Honestly,. If I didn't call stuff in (now and then) NOTHING would get done, which seems to suit the "locals" well enough.
That's a sad commentary on society in general (and our part of the city in particular).
Social Gospel at work ((sighs)).
Hey, thanks for stopping by and commenting today.
Stay safe (and well-rested) up there, brother.
