Tuesday Tidbits...

If you like your summer days a bit warmer than they have been, then you should enjoy today. I probably won't...lol.
At least there's no rain, so you can stow the umbrella for the time being.
Our Hoosierland weather for today bring us sunny skies, temps rising to around 82 degrees, and maybe a slight breeze. It's actually nice out there early this morning.

This doesn't affect any of us in OUR particular neighborhood, but this is kind of a sudden project.
Standing water? Try getting the mook on the SE side to remove all the dumped TIRES in the area for starters.
This is closer to where Glynn Hines lives (better area of the ghetto with less crime).
Naturally, anything WE need where WE live goes ignored (as usual).
I can't even get the city to ticket chronic wrong-way parking, or get overgrown foliage trimmed back!

It's like you just can't sit in your OWN vehicle at a coin laundry these days, can you?
Police did get the car back...down in the GHETTO (that's the SE side for the uninitiated).
Naturally the suspects are still at-large (to jack another vehicle at gunpoint).

What I did while reading this was substitute the word STREET for highway.
At least SOME towns "get it" and are doing something to enforce the littering laws.
I know where We live in SE FTW, it would be a godsend!

Our local government-sponsored primates seem to LIVE for littering.
I do that "great American clean up" gig almost daily around our property (where's my friggin' t-shirt? LOL)
Again, it all comes down to STANDARDS...and common sense, doesn't it?

The kids had a nice day, doing cat stuff (that means napping and looking outside).
They do take turns following me about the house, and that's fine, as long as I'm not tripping over either one.

Gallifrey takes over my chair.

Evenings are the best, because they'll come in where I'm at and get into "pet me" mode. I can work with that, even while watching television.
*** Next up, let's do our check-in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...

Nice and cool on the lawn.

Our furry duo were here for breakfast, dinner and back step treats.

Midnight kicks back before his patrol.

Midnight was missing for lunch (we had a drizzle), so Whiskers ate under the patio table.
And, we had an unexpected midday "visitor" at the front door...Mr Squirrel stopped by and he got some peanuts for his troubles.

"Hey, this place has free eats!"

Luckily, there were no cats around. I made sure of that, not that this little guy couldn't outrun and out-climb them.
*** Last back to the garden area... A civil society is a better society...hands down.

And when civility becomes a stranger to any people, that's where the problems begin.
As a city boy, I always did like the allure of farms - plenty of room to roam about, lots of  open spaces (the kind of thing that was at a premium in the city), and the ability to "chart your own path", as it were.
We have this Latino neighbor who BELONGS on a farm, and with good reason...he has TOO MANY VEHICLES in his possession. I mean, even Jay Leno owns a warehouse for HIS "collection".

We live on a residential street, and yet, every day, this guy's got up to FIVE trucks parked along the street, often in front of our place. Plus, he's got that ATV and dirt bike in a garage.

This is in addition to the his driveway, which is also FULL.
Now, it's fine to own as many vehicles as you can afford, BUT...take into consideration the OTHER people that live close by, who maybe don't share this passion for acquisition.
The guy has a "work crew" that comes by every morning, and THEIR cars and SUVs also park along the street, which only turns our two way street into a one lane street real fast.
It's ignorance such as this that is the problem for me.
God forbid an ambulance or fire engine would need to pull up out front...they COULDN'T.
(to me, that's a matter of public safety)
This person (and his crew) would be a LOT better off on a damn farm with PLENTY of parking available.
Our street shouldn't become a parking lot-daytime storage area for his vehicles and his friend's vehicles..
A little courtesy for others and civility on his part would go a very long way.
