Humpday Happenings...
There  WAS a bit of relief in the form of RAIN last night (and fairly heavy at times), so we break the spell of 90+ degree days.
Naturally, FTW had a few flooded streets (with some idiots trying to drive through them, and getting stuck). Check the travel conditions.
Our Hoosierland weather for today brings us partly cloudy skies, a chance of a leftover shower early on, and temps climbing to the upper 80s. Better than yesterday.
So, let's get ourselves a cool drink to begin the day, as we see what else has been going on...
*** First out of the rain gutter is our WHO SAID THAT? quote for the week:
"The soldier above all others prays for peace, for it is the soldier who must suffer and bear the deepest wounds and scars of war."
I think this captures not only the spirit of our upcoming Independence Day, but the universal call to arms in order to secure peace.
So, who said that? The answer ta the top of tomorrow's post.
Meanwhile, back at West Point...
*** Next up is our "What the hell happens today, Bob?" feature:
JULY 3 -
National Fried Clam Day
(did this last Saturday at R/L)
National Eat Your Beans Day
(Depends WHAT kind of "beans")
National Chocolate Wafer Day
(well it IS chocolate)
*** Next...This whole lame-stream media BASHING of the Trump-Kim meeting in Korea really pisses me off, and for the OBVIOUS reason.
I guess the drive-bys NEVER bothered to look at how well they thought of Obama when HE met with Hugo Chavez (and gave him a copy of his book to boot, no doubt personally autographed).
And, what about THIS story that sheds more light on how the former president treated other dubious political people of power:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2718143/Obamas-monsters-ball-How-White-House-opened-doors-Africas-evil-dictators-homophobes-turned-blind-eye-human-rights-record.html
Amazing what you find and how easy it is to call out the LEFT on it's obvious bias.
Let's take a count of the times Obama got cozy with dictators:
https://www.independentsentinel.com/11-times-obama-catered-to-worst-dictators-in-the-world/
Yeah, he really liked Raul Castro, too.
Hell, the left blasted Reagan (and Reagan was right when it came to the former USSR). Got that wall torn down.
It's a scathing account of how the Obama W/H hosted all these African leaders with major human rights breaches (among other things).
Another case of selective media blindness.
*** Next up...This story is also quite obvious to figure out.
https://news.gallup.com/poll/259841/american-pride-hits-new-low-few-proud-political-system.aspx?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter_axiosam&stream=top
American "pride" is taking a downturn? Well, not at our home.
I will say the CONSTANT denigration of this nation by progressive socialists is a MAJOR contributor to our country taking it on the chin.
Stop listening to them and giving them a platform...period.
*** Next...time to drop on by "Kitten Corner"...
"Zzz...zzz...zzz..."
The children didn't do too bad, considering they didn't have to be out in the heat and humidity.
But, when the (local) idiots starting shooting off fireworks after the sun set, they got a bit "anxious".
That's typical for most pets, and who can blame them. Loud and abrupt noises bother lots of humans as well (especially combat vets).
"I don't like those loud booms."
But, the morons doing the fireworks don't give a damn about you...or your four-footed friends, or even those having PTSD.
Such behavior goes way beyond ignorance (imho).
*** Next up, let's check in with "Midnight and Whiskers"...
I'm always here when it counts, though."
Our furry duo once again spent a good part of the day nearby, but Midnight did get back into "missing lunch" mode with his patrols. Thank God little Whiskers was here all day.
"But you miss lunch...and I DON'T."
She's quite steadfast, and gets her share of food at all 3 meals.
Of course, both were in attendance for back step treats at sunset.
"Don't involve me. That's between you two."
As for the fluffy cat? He was missing for most all the day, coming back when it was close to treats time, so he got some dry food  anyway.
*** Last back to the rain barrel...I've got a major problem with our SCOTUS, and I think you know why.
Only SOME of us uphold our Constitution.
The "Supremes" didn't allow the CITIZENSHIP question to be placed in our census (which has gone to press).
You know...we call it the U.S. CENSUS for a REASON...It's the UNITED STATES, you dipshit judges!
The right is claiming the question (in question) is NEEDED due to the Voting Rights Act
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Voting_Rights_Act_of_1965
The left has countered by stating that the citizenship questions is...(get ready for this one)...UNFAIR TO MINORITIES!
Every minority that is a U.S. CITIZEN gets counted in the census...that's why we HAVE the damn thing.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Census
Here's an explanation as to WHY we conduct the census:
https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/decennial-census/about/why.html
And here is why ACCURACY is important:
https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/why-an-accurate-census-count-is-so-important/
To me, there should be no reason to NOT have the citizenship question...unless a lot of people are trying to hide a lot of things.
This is still the USA, and in spite of what others think, the question is more relevant today than ever before.
Hiding the truth is not the answer...pursuing it IS.
Be well, make a difference to someone, and...
Stay SAFE out there, America.

Didn't realize it rained THAT hard... must not have here.

Quote: No atheists in foxholes, they say...

Fried clam: Not truly in love with something that remains chewy after frying...

Beans: Not as much fun without my 'partner' eating off my spoon...

Media blindness: But see, it was all right for Obama, because he was a BLACK president... so they say.

American pride down? Must be the same pollers who called Hilary's big win, lol...

I'm guessing you heard Rush's take on the Supremes... I have little else to add. Let me ask the court: What is there to be ashamed of... and should it be allowed?

Today was such fun: At the risk of TMI I was facing the corrolation between sinus drainage and several trips to the bathroom at work this morning... plus a kidney stone from 0600 to around 1030... which is when Mila's cutter took a crap, (and since the main maintenance guy took a vacation day) putting her out of action.. plus an end of the day drop in for next week of 74 covers due between Tuesday and Thursday... which led to a plant meeting at which the threat of OT next week was discussed.. a meeting I didn't attend because nobody told me, and nobody noticed I wasn't there (despite wearing a bright orange Hawaiian shirt)... Good news- God is good- He fought my battles, I never got mad at anyone... and came home to find out the new rent will NOT be going up!

Betcha is is raining there NOW (doing likewise down here).
Heh...I like that one. You'll like the answer (very apropos).
Actually, the R/L ones are not that chewy as you'd think. I detest any other clam (except in chowder).
There are some beans I've yet to try (but not in any hurry to do so).
I know...a BLATANT case of Washington D.C.'s DOUBLE-STANDARD-ITIS!
LOL...It has to be the same pollsters...!
I think Rush knocked that one outta the ballpark!
Ashamed? They seem afraid as well.
Trump will still push for the addition OF that question...good for him (and the USA).
I have to say you DID have a fukllk plate today.
Glad to know our God was there for you.
(especially w/ the kidney stone)

Good to know the rent will stay the same for you folks.
(hope that doesn't bring in some riff-raff).

Thanks for taking some time to drop by and comment.
Much appreciated.

Stay safe (keep cool and dry) up there, brother.
