Tuesday Tidbits...

There are no REAL "major" stories today, but there's a few "one-liners" that deserve note here. And with that in mind...It's time to loose the pigeons, cry HAVOC, and let slip the Dogs of Journalism...(woof)!

Fort Wayne Mayoral Republican Primary:

I'd like to see Matt Kelty walk off with the prize...I just can't see the "Heir-Apparent" to the kingdom of Fort Wayne in the hands of another "monarch". Many concede that this city is a socialist state...in some ways, I agree. But with AWB's blog about the king's court and jesters...(a funny picture), we vassals and serfs deserve more than another four years of the "same old", regardless of what party runs the castle. I just like Matt's youthful exuberance. I would think a Henry-Kelty race for mayor would be a lot more "fun".
So vote early...and vote often.

Spiderman Tops Box Office:

Nosiree...couldn't see this one coming...could we?
Spiderman 3 set an all time record in box office revenue this weekend, besting the Pirates of the Caribbean movie last year. Although S-3 also set a record for the MOST EXPENSIVE movie made (to date), the receipts for just this weekend will most likely pay off the cost of production...and there's gonna be a lot more $$$ to come...stay tuned, true-believers.

Honeybees Dying Off in Droves:

Scientists are puzzled as to the recent spate of honeybees dying. Although they have sen this before, this is the first time it has happened so severely. And considering we get a large part of our FOOD through pollination, it's got these PHd's worried. Some believe it's due to a parasitic infestation, while others are claiming it's due to (warning - get the coffee cup AWAY from your keyboards)...GLOBAL WARMING! Our favorite "Environmangelist" (Al Gore) has no doubt got that Mr. Sardonicus ear-to-ear grin over this one. I'm just rolling my eyes....yet again.

L.A. Police to "Reassign" Top Brass:
After the illegal alien "celebratory demonstration" (read more like a damn riot) the other week in Los Angeles, the top two police officials at those demonstrations are being admonished for their actions. The Deputy Chief was demoted to commander and ordered to work from home, while his second in commend was transferred to a post with "less authority". During the fracas, bottles and rocks were hurled at officers, and they responded with rubber bullets and batons (to me a fair exchange). Would the people have preferred LIVE ROUNDS? Are the police just supposed to STAND there and get pelted? This scene plays out all over America these days. The police are being more and more "restrained" in the action they can take, while all the time, THEY are supposed to just "stand there and take it". Yeah, that's democracy at work (for the lawless).

More Robberies in Fort Wayne:

At least they're not HOMICIDES...(yet). The Pizza King along Bluffton Road was knocked over when two employees were closing with the money bags (how convenient...suppose the perp had staked them out?) for their night deposit. The robber had a handgun (legal or illegal?) and was last seen running towards some nearby apartments where a car was waiting.
The perp is still at large.
And along Essex Lane, you best not be out around 7PM, because robbers can get YOU, like they did to the man who was robbed at knife point, after being forced intoa dugout of a nearby baseball diamond.
The robbers are still at large.
A woman at Canterbury Green Apartments was robbed of her purse while waiting for a friend on Saturday. One of the men had a gun (legal or illegal?). No arrests were made.
The men are still at large.
At the Arby's on the 400 block of E. Rudisill, two bandana-wearing "desperados" sashayed in about 4PM Saturday, and robbed that place. One had a handgun (legal or illegal?).
They're also...still at large.
(Wow...are we seeing a pattern here?)

Lastly, some good news...
A Huntertown woman scratched her way to a cool MILLION bucks when she purchased a lottery ticket at Meijers Saturday. Although the one she bought going INTO the store wasn't a winner, she still felt lucky, so she got one more on the way OUT. That was the one! The couple plan to use the winnings to pay off their debt and wills ave for retirement. Man, if I had all the money back for all those times I "felt lucky"...lol!
(My advice to them...pay off the bills, and find a nice quiet piece of real estate far from the madding crowd...and THEN you can think about retiring...hell, they're both young enough as it is).

To quote Sheppard Smith:
"And now you know the news..".

David and I want to play the lottery here in Kentucky. The jackpot here is up to $15 million last time I saw a billboard in Louisville.
